If Dr. Jeanne Llenado, a superior urologist at Jefferson Health is demonstrative of the urology…read moredepartment as a whole, thenI applaud the urology department for its phenomenal care, nurses, and staff. If you visit Dr. Llenado, a urologist whose attention to patient care is indicative of the urology department, you can expect compassion, pertinent questions, professionalism, and proper healthcare. There's appointment options, depending on the reason for the visit, and if you're an established patient, both in person, as well as by telehealth. If you're not an established patient, you should be! The reception staff is delightful, providing dual check-in for Urology and Dermatology. The waiting area is immaculate, and spacious, including charging stations for your portable devices, and modern well-kept furniture. The entire facility, and its furnishings are infinitely cleaner, and incomparably better maintained than every common area in several "24/7 concierge buildings", just outside center city Philadelphia. Your care starts when you're called from an entranceway to the exam rooms, where there's clean bathrooms on each side of the entrance. After providing your urine sample, one of several cordial, and professional nurses directs you to your exam room, and, shortly thereafter, checks your blood pressure, and performs a test to measure the amount of urine retained in your bladder. The lab staff is so efficient and effective, testing of the urine, and all notes except for "after visit" notes, are completed while you're in the exam room. If you don't have the MyChart app installed on your phone, you should- it's an incredible resource. Notices from the MyChart app are for appointments, refills, messing with your care team, lab results, and much more. The exam rooms are all up to date, and facilities are extremely clean, affording safe, and healthy conditions. Dr. Llenado is a highly respected and knowledgeable master of her craft, and a standout within the urology department. With plenty of painstaking free parking around the building, visiting the urology department is a pleasant experience.

My husband seen Dr. Weiner. Was very polite. Explained everything he was going to do for the exam…read more Took the time to explain what the problem could have been. Very professional atmosphere. Office was nice and clean. Along with the exam room. Friendly people. Wait to see the doctor was minimal. Parking is a plus! Plenty of parking.

As I sat on the table waiting for Perry Weiner I began to overhear a very loud and personal medical…read moreconversation in the next exam room, during which Perry described in detail the steps he wanted a patient to take to address an issue with his penis, including "If you have an erection for more than an hour-and-a-half I want you to go to an emergency room." I was of course disconcerted that I had observed Perry violating a patient's HIPAA rights before I had even met him, and regretted my decision to pay for the appointment in advance when suggested by the health portal. When Perry appeared he was taciturn and did not introduce himself even though I am a new patient and this was our first meeting. I described having pain in my groin and in my urethra while urinating. I used a single medical term I read online, "stricture," and Perry gave a long pause and asked where I work with a suspicious tone. I told him my line of work and he didn't seem to accept the answer, then he said "You seem to have medical knowledge." I explained it's common for people to lookup their symptoms online before seeing a medical provider and often they pickup terminology that way. He asked me why his staff hadn't performed an ultrasound on my bladder, as if a new patient would be able to explain to him why his staff did not follow his instructions. These initial exchanges demonstrate that Perry was not concerned for me and conducted the interview with a suspicious tone. When he asked me to turn my head and cough, he said, "You DON'T have a hernia," but later I sought an ultrasound on my own and that was exactly what I had. He examined my abdomen and told me to turn on my side. That was all he said, turn on your side. When I turned, he penetrated my anus with his fingers and applied pressure to my prostate. It's hard to imagine why he would think he doesn't need to explain this to the patient before he does it. He handed me 2 tissues and said "clean yourself up." He then told me "I'm going to prescribe you an antibiotic and something for the pain," demonstrating his lack of interest in explaining himself or including me in decisions for my care. I asked him why he would prescribe an antibiotic and he said "because your prostate is inflamed," but there was no indication of bacterial infection, and in the notes Perry only wrote "prostatitis" with no ICD code, not even "bacterial prostatitis." I asked Perry if we were going to explore a root cause for the pain to arrive at a diagnosis and he said "that could be referred pain" and "see how you feel after the antibiotic, you can always come back." It should be evident from my account that Perry did not show concern for me, was not interested in explaining himself, made no attempt to include me in decisions, and in fact treated me like a suspect. The antibiotic had no effect and I sought an ultrasound, where I was diagnosed with hernia despite Perry telling me I "DON'T" have one.

However the Dr joined this group and the wheels came off his practice Too busy to help you and you get assigned to a Nurse practioner . Find it's very Hard to make appointments and impossible to get to speak to your doctor I called in asking to speak to him and expected him to call. Got the on call doctor who was no help at all I was hospitalized 4 times thru the emergency room because they failed to correct a problem or help me! I've been bleeding with a catheter now for 5 weeks. They never call to check on you They just don't care! Fed up went to Phila and was treated with respect and promptly Think twice before you go here and do your homework picking a urologist Most horrible treatment and situation in my life They don't listen !

There is over 30 people waiting in the lobby, it's not clean and it smells musty. The best part is you check in and wait for over an hour but then they take you to another area where you also wait again. They had me wait for a room because they had nothing open...then had to put me in a room where procedures are done because they had no available rooms. It's scary to think how they are handling all these patients. They are not! It's like a meat packing plant in here. Definitely heading over to Phila for a really appointment.
