Great experience at New Image Cuts! I found the place via Yelp, so I figured I should add a nice review for them. I walked in, sat down, and got a hair cut. It was that simple. Fast, easy and cheap! The haircut was only $8, which is a screaming deal - especially in California. A piece of advice, BRING CASH! This place is cash only. I only had a card on me, so I had to go next door to the 7-11 for an ATM. I offered to leave something to ensure my return, but she replied with "no, no, I love to trust people." This place is awesome. My family and I used to go to this salon all the time, and then we moved away for two years. After moving back, my husband and I stopped by for a trim, and the instant we walked in, we were warmly greeted - they remembered us like yesterday and asked all about our son. In addition to the friendly stylists, I've never had a bad haircut here. They always get it just right, and it's extremely cheap. Plus, as others have said, there's rarely ever a wait time. For the last year my dad has gotten his hair cut at New Image Cuts. He is very happy with his haircut and loves the great price. This weekend I wanted to get my hair cut and since they do cut for women as well I decided to try it. The price was great but I wasn't happy with my haircut. I wanted an extremely simple no-maintenance hairstyle (a basic shoulder length cut) and I even brought along a picture to show what I wanted, instead I was given several layers. According to the hairstylist layers work better with my jaw line. One top of this the base layer was shorter than I wanted and according to my hair knowledgeable friend the top layer is considered a crown intended to add volume typically to long hair - long hair I no longer had - and that due to the thickness of my hair was completely ridiculous. I don't think the hairstylist was intentionally trying to give me a bad haircut, in fact she seemed very nice, but it simply wasn't what I wanted or what I think looks good on me. My sister suggested camouflaging the top layers by pulling the short front layers of my hair back with a hair clip, which does make it look okay, but it's a lot more maintenance than I wanted, especially since the top layers are so short hair easily falls out of the clip and requires several bobby pins. If you are a guy looking for an inexpensive cut, I say this is the place for you, but young women may want to go somewhere else and pay more for a better hairstyle. read more

New Image Cuts is GREAT! They cut my hair the way I want it to look. I have a natural wave in my hair and their haircuts always work with the wave. I've been going to New Image for three or four years. Didn't take long to recognize that Karmen does a consistently great job, so I've requested that she cut my hair every time. I came here with my two kids (both boys) and we all got hair cuts. I have very long, wavy and thick hair and they cut it and layered for only $8. Both of my boys have pretty thick hair, one has wavy hair like mine and the other has very straight hair and they are very picky about how they like their hair cut. They both like it short on the sides with a bit of length on the top and front. I always have trouble with the one with straight hair because if you cut it wrong it is very visible.The ladies that cut our hair were all super nice and sweet. They made sure my kids were comfortable and when they cut their hair they took their time and were very careful to not cut it too short. Both of my kids were very happy with their hair cuts and so was I. Very quick service but not careless in my opinion. The owner was very sweet as well so I plan to come back :) read more

I'm so happy with my cut!! I went in to get about a foot of hair chopped off and was pretty nervous, but Naomi did a beautiful job. I showed her a few photos and said i didn't want layers, just textured tips, and she did just that! I hate when hair dressers stray from what i ask for because they think they know better. Nice people who know what they're doing. My hubby, my 11 month (yes - he's got tons of hair and has had his hair cut twice already!), and myself all go there and we are extremely happy. Ophelia is our favorite - but I hear everyone is happy with whoever they go with here. I've been going there for cuts for a while now and have been loving it, and recently decided to start doing my color too. To be more exact, I bring my own dye (as I'm very particular with brand and quality, and have had allergic reactions from dyes in the past) but I get them to put it on, and I'm very pleased with the result. The price is great and I love how in and out the whole process is. If you are looking to be super pampered which will reflect on the cost at the end of your visit to a salon (especially if you are doing color) this place is not for you. She's a divine and will look for her when I come back . The only thing I did not like is the strong hair color they used. The chemical was so strong my scalp was itching for days. This is a great place to get a haircut, they get a decent job done in a short period of time. This place neighbors a subway, Chinese food( which is pretty good), and a 7-eleven. Anyway, so it can be crowded at times, but they get to you as soon as possible. The workers are friendly. The place is nice and casual looking. This place is an affordable place, $8 haircuts (used to be 6 i think). Always busy especially in the afternoons so waiting can be kinda annoying especially when old people claim to have gotten there before you. The owner I forgot her name, is always so nice and helpful she remembers her clients and always says hi to me when i am around the salon.I cant say much about some of the other hair stylists there. they seem as though they just want to go home.So their attitudes needs a bit of an adjustment They an ok job when cutting your hair. I have been going there since I was 15, just because like I said it is an affordable place and alright to have your ends trimmed into layers. (My hair really doesn't need much work).. However, during my last visit, I was charged 15. I was shocked! (and mind you, i am not a cheap person) I asked the hair stylist why (the owner was not there otherwise i would have gone to her) and she said because i had long hair (which is really a little below my shoulders).HELLOOOO this was never a problem before I told her. she kept insisting that it was because I had long hair she had to charge me almost double. On top of that she was being a drama queen, as if IIIII had caused her some sort of inconvenience. She said she had to use more product.
