My boyfriend needed a haircut while we were visiting LA, so by chance we stopped in. I wasn't planning on having a cut, but was convinced--and so pleased I did! Marieta was able able to create a cut and style to exactly match my features. She took great care and precision in each snip--her skill in the craft is amazing. I could not get over how lovely my hair looked after a cut and style! The layers and under layers were laid out perfectly as she used using multiple types of shears with precision. On my next trip to LA I disappointedly had to cancel my appointment, but I will a make a special effort to return again soon (from Colorado) to follow up with my next cut. I don't recall ever having such a perfectly matched cut, regardless of the price, and I prefer that she cut my hair. Marieta is an amazing hairstylist! read more

On my previous visits to this place, I would just walk in and patiently wait for my turn. The lady hair stylist, M, told me one time "You know it's better if you make an appointment." So that's what I did. I Called and spoke to Miss M. Asked if I can make an appointment for 2:30 PM today and she said ok. I got there at 2:15. There was a little boy on her chair. I waited patiently since I was early anyways. With the little boy was an older boy and their father. At 2:30 she finished the little boy and sat the older boy. That was my appointment time but I waited patiently and didn't say a word... after all, how long would it take to cut the hair of a little boy right? At 2:45 she finished the older boy but then she sat the father down as if I didn't exist and nobody else was in the waiting area. I just left. On the way to another place to get my haircut I called M and told her I called to make an appointment at 2:30 but she obviously had other customers so why say yes to me if she was busy? She said "Oh sorry, I didn't know that was you, why didn't you say anything?" First of all M, when I called I introduced myself. When you say come at 2:30, I did. Last week, I celebrated the new year with a hair trimming at Gorgeous Cuts. I was raised to do my hair (and nails) religiously on a schedule, but since my mother passed away like 3 years ago.... There has been no one to call and nag/remind me. Until I walked in these doors to Marieta (the beautician/hairstylist). My hair looked great after the haircut, because of the styling. However, I'm not capable to making it look great every day. And that's really sad, because I'm actually pretty with horrible flat, limp, full hair. I have my head shaved on the side rockin long hair on top. I went into this place because its close to my house and I saw a sign for 10 bucks. I didn't think it would be a problem because I was only asking for a 1 on the sides. she gave me the haircut and I did examine it but I must admit that I wear glasses and from what I saw it looked clean. when I got home and used my magnified mirror I saw a couple of spots that she missed. the worst part is that as I put some gel in my hair I got a wad of hair that she had cut on accident. Having just moved to LA, I've quickly noticed that people pay way more for haircuts out here than anywhere I've ever been. It's nearly impossible to find a non-sketchy place to get a men's haircut for less than $30. I was on my way over to the Americana in Glendale and saw this place was nearby and did haircuts for $10. I went on a Friday at 11:30am and was the only person there being cut by the only stylist there. She used the clippers for almost my entire haircut, including most of the top of my head. While my haircut was decent for $10, there were no extra "amenities" at all. I don't always expect a shampoo, but to not even get the excess hair clippings wiped off my forehead and neck was a little irritating (pun intended). read more

Came in and no signs for prices so I ask how much for men she says $30 . I say okay can I get a fade and she says okay $35 . Clearly she's making up her own pricing and then she didn't even give me a proper fade just a regular cut and so I pay $35 flat and stiff her and she shows frustration . Like What , you want a tip for rushing my cut and spending literally 10 minutes only on my cut? Yeah right lady learn how to give a proper cut! Way better places for that kind of money. I've been going to Gorgeous Cuts since before Marieta took over the salon. That's at least 19 years! Given the chance, I wouldn't go anywhere else. I was forced by necessity to get a couple less than great haircuts from self-professed and self-taught barbers during Lockdown. I am very happy to report I just got a proper haircut, just the way I like it, at Gorgeous Cuts, who are now thankfully open again, but by appointment only for the time being. I got my hair cut yesterday. First of all she cut it too short. I've been growing my layers out to one length. She cut the left side a lot shorter than the rest. After she was done I looked at it and said why is this so much shorter. "Oh it's better this way". She didn't ask me if I wanted it different, she just did it. I will not be returning. This is the best place to go for any kind of hair styling and cuts. I got an EXCELLENT deal on dying my hair, nice cut, treatment and blow dry. I promise that you will not regret walking into this salon!! I would not waste my money going to any other hair stylist. The staff members are truly experts and highly knowledgeable. Overall I have been using their services for about 11 years and tried to go to a few other hair stylists to get my hair cut but, they just could not handle my hair. I don't usually write reviews. However, I saw the 2 previous reviews and I can't agree with them. I first used this hair salon back in 2003 and I am still one of their numerous regular weekly customers. I hold an executive corporate position and my regular haircut is a must for me. It is true they had 1 or 2 stylists that worked there for a very short period of time but the other stylists are experienced professionals. Compared to other name brand salons that used while traveling I get the same service with an affordable price. The customer has the choice to ask for a shampoo and to pay additional. Haircuts start from $10 and an extra $4 for shampoo if you choose to. Nice, relaxing salon with caring stylists who usually give me good recommendations for my hair care and professional products that I choose to buy on the spot. Thanks Gorgeous Cuts! read more
