Very happy with the care and results I received. Everyone there was very nice and efficient, I didn't have to wait long for my appointments. After over a year of constant pain in my leg it was 75% cured after the first visit and about 90% after the second visit. I have been going to New Hope Acupuncture for over three years now , my first visit with dr. Kim during my examination I told him I was in tremendous pain with my lower back and my legs. He advised that I should visit him twice a week for six weeks and this would help with the pains in my back and legs, I remember being unable to get up on his examining table by myself, and he had to help me because the pain was so severe. I was referred here by my phyical medicine doctor to help with pain from a pinched nerve in my back; I probably never would have sought out acupuncture on my own. It has really helped me. I was able to cut down and then take myself completely off tylenol and motrin now for my back and leg pain. Additionally, I noticed I haven't had a migraine headache since I started acupuncture either. The whole thing seems to not only be helping with nerve pain, but also with the stress I seem to carry around in my head and in my muscles. Dr. Kim suggested I try cupping too. I went to address pain in my thumbs (prob due to texting) and a should pain that flares up when working out. Did Acupuncture for several months and each time I could tell the progress. This is obviously a scam. I went with a voucher for a free session that was provided to me by my health insurance. I was given 2 but won't even bother to go back for the second one. He started telling me I would need other services aside from acupuncture but that they aren't covered by the vouchers and that I would need to go twice a week for a few months. He seemed attentive until I refused to pay for other services or for more sessions in advance. His whole attitude changed and he barely spoke a word after that. He spent more time trying to convince me to pay more than with the actual treatment. He couldn't even keep his explanation for why I needed other services consistent. I found this place through a friends recommendation who was raving about Dr.Kim and said nothing but great things about how coming to him for acupuncture has helped in healing her injuries. I recently pulled a muscle in my shoulder really bad that didn't allow me to raise it more than 30 degrees in any direction. I got the groupon for three sessions and after the first I immediately felt the difference the next day. I train Jiu-Jitsu and I have definitely noticed a difference between recovery time for a pulled muscle after coming to Dr. Kim then when I would just let it heal on its own. I asked a lot of questions and he answered everything. I was nervous because this was the first time i've ever gotten acupuncture and I'm normally scared of needles but I didn't feel a thing when he placed them. He's also very punctual with appointments. I mean, it was a cool Groupon experience, that's about it! No other reason for it other than to tell you guys about it. I paid like 10 bucks so I can't complain. This is a one man show. The doctor here is the receptionist, he does a quick consultation and throws you into the room. He is not very good about communicating what he's going to do but I've lived in different countries where "customer service" isn't priority so I guess I have more patience then most. The doctor quickly pointed to the room and told me that cupping alone with no acupuncture wouldn't work. Uhmm.. thanks I'm not sure what I'm paying for. I came here on the recommendation of my physical medicine doctor, who thought it might help with the severe nerve pain I had because of a herniated disc. The first few treatments didn't seem to change much, but then suddenly, after the sixth or seventh session, I felt some significant relief. I started walking a little more easily, without having to sit down every 5 minutes to rest. I have seen a lot more improvement since then, and now I would say I feel a good 75-80% better than I did at the start. I should add that I also do some PT exercises, but I am convinced that the acupuncture has played a decisive role in my recovery. Dr. Kim is very welcoming and professional, the insurance paperwork was handled efficiently, and altogether the experience has been excellent. Terrible service & waste of money! I purchased a Groupon deal for acupuncture only. During evaluation the "dr" tried to add cupping services on top of the acupuncture that I only came in for. He seemed less interested in "helping" me after that point when I declined the cupping and proceeded w/ the acupuncture. He seemed to only help those willing to pay extra I guess. The acupuncture did not hurt at all. No complaint there. He put a timer on and once the time was up, he did not come to turn it off. I waited an additional 10 mins for him to come attend to me and when he did said nothing, pulled the needles out, and left. Once dressed and ready to leave, I requested to see necessity of booking another appt and he brushed me off and told me to call. Dr. Kim was very nice and went over cupping and acupuncture process. I tend to have very tight shoulders. First thing he saw is the way I sit an stand. He he explained why I shouldn't hunch my back so much. Also went over excercises so I don't tend to have such tight shoulders. I'm terrified of needles but did not feel them at all. Not great. I came for a cupping session and the doctor just seemed more interested in his stack of mail than talking about the procedure. Cupping was via suction cup and infrared light.
