I had a great experience with Kai at Flowing Energy Bodywork. I've been dealing with a lot of soreness, tightness, and pain from the physical demands of my fire academy, and Kai really took the time to understand what I had going on. You can tell he has a great understanding of the body and knows exactly what areas need attention instead of just giving a basic massage. He worked on the areas that had been bothering me and I could definitely feel a difference afterward. He was professional, knowledgeable, and made sure the pressure and treatment were right for what my body needed. One of the best parts was the convenience. Kai came directly to my house, which was perfect after a long and exhausting week at the academy. I didn't have to drive anywhere or deal with the hassle of going to a spa. Great service, very convenient, and most importantly, the massage actually helped. Definitely a 5-star experience and I'll be using him again! read more

Kai is truly wonderful. His space is warm, inviting and completely calming. The work itself was WOW!!! One of the best massages I've ever had. His pressure, pace and movement was intuitive and truly healing. So grateful to have found him. Absolutely give him a try. You will not regret it! Thanks Kai! read more

The energy is flowing and I'm so grateful for Kai! My friend's Mike and Derrick got me a 2 hr gift certificate O.O for my birthday/christmas to have an amazing massage session with this man with the magic hands and most inviting energy. I kept forgetting about it because it was also my card with the certificate printed out on it. They reminded me and I was like okay I'll reach out. We found a perfect time and I made my way over at 10:30 AM on Sunday. The place was easy-ish to spot - studio in the far left with beautiful landscaping and Kai waved me over. We talked for a little bit as I got there a couple of minutes ahead of time. I sat my belongs down and as instructed got undressed to my most comfortable and under the sheet on possibly the best massage table in the world (I'm a bit of a naturist so I just went for it, we're all adults). I'm a big guy and over 6 ft tall so it was nice that I felt so comfortable on his table and he had plenty of room to work with. The vibe is very earthy and being in a residential space the Flowing Energy Bodywork studio has natural light or you can go the candle route. The room temp is perfect and Kai will adjust. Let him know your pressure level, though he will ask as he tends to go deep . Medium was excellent for me as I didn't realized where I carried some of my tension and pressure until Kai got to work. Two hours completely flew by!! My neck and lower back are the most grateful, but so is my entire body. When I flipped over and got the warm towel over my face I was like wow lol in the best way possible... Kai was concerned if the towels were too warm. I was just caught by surprise about how good it felt. The vapors and steam felt so cleansing and the zen sounds in the background really made the entire experience that much greater. You can take breaks as needed, but I didn't require one as i ate very light that morning and didn't have too much water until after. Kai had some amazing tips before and after the massage and is willing to answer any and all questions. He's a very caring person and nothing but a quality professional. I'd definitely recommend and will come to him again. Self-care is super essential after all and it helps to have wonderful people like Kai in the world to help with that ongoing essential process. I felt less congested after from allergy season really doing its thing this year and I slept so well at night!! Soooo grateful for this experience. Q Tip: Don't forget to check-in! You'll get a nice time bonus ;) read more

Kai's massage was honestly on another level. You can tell immediately that he's not just going through the motions -- he's fully present, intuitive, and deeply knowledgeable about the body. The whole experience had such a calm, grounding vibe -- I felt completely safe, taken care of, and able to fully let go. Total trust, total relaxation. It was one of those sessions where your body just goes, "Yes, this is exactly what I needed." I left feeling lighter, more grounded, and totally reset. If you value bodywork that's both therapeutic and deeply tuned in -- this is it. read more

I have been going to Kai for three months now, and I have had a transformational experience. Having been diagnosed with bone-on-bone arthritis in both knees, I have a lot of pain, but Kai's magical hands and keen knowledge of the human body have made all the difference in helping me get that needed relief I seek. If you want deep tissue massage, Kai is extremely strong! He checks in with you to make sure you're not wincing or tightening up. He can adjust the pressure and appreciates any and all feedback. Just communicate what you want, and he will make it happen. As a classroom teacher, I have to be able to move to where my students are to do right by the children. Thank you, Kai, for making it possible for me to continue to do my job with so much less pain! read more

Flowing Energy Bodywork - Massage Near Me - Los Angeles, California

He is super talented. I needed a massage at 9:00 am. I called him, he explained he worked from his home. I was hesitate but I'm glad I went. He was professional, clean, and most importantly he helped me with my migraine. It's hard finding people who understand the body and can heal with their hands. He gave me a great stretch yet the whole time I was being wrapped with the sheets. Talk about an experience. I felt comfortable the whole time. After the massage, he gave me a bottle of water and explained how I would feel afterwards... It's clear he cares about his patients. I would most definitely come back. read more

I was intrigued to try Kai because of all the wonderful reviews. I will have to say that all of the great reviews are true. My session was relaxing and also restorative. Kai is fantastic! His work really stands out from the average massage therapist. Kai is no run of the mill practitioner, he takes his work very seriously and is quite talented. He won't refer to himself as a healer, but I know one when I see one and specially when one works on me. Kai has healers hands and a healers intuition. He knows what the body needs and how to deliver. I have only seen him once but am truly excited to visit him again and again and again. If you value your well being, take some time out of your day and go see Kai, you will not regret it! read more

I have received two 90 minute massages with Kai. He is very professional and nice. His place is extremely clean and sanitary. I give him 5 stars because he has a really good understanding of using just the right pressure and techniques so the muscles loosen up and you stay relaxed. No pain afterwards. Also, he communicates with you throughout the process so that he knows what is and isn't working and how you are feeling. I have had many massages by different people and I literally think he is one of the best masseuses out there. Suzanne E read more

I received my first massage from Kai early in his practice, on the recommendation of a friend. I loved my massage - I think it was 90 minutes - and determined to get another one when I had the opportunity. Alas, I don't live where he does, so I'm only able to book when I'm traveling on vacation. This vacation, I found myself with a block of free time the next day and decided to contact him on the chance he was available. He responded quickly in the affirmative. Yay! This was my first visit to his studio at his new home. It was quiet, parking was readily available, and the entrance to his studio is now direct - no need to walk through any private living area. Perfect. He was ready for me, offered me water, and we began. A note about the music. It was soothing without calling attention to itself, and it never repeated. My mind tends to grab onto musical details, which can get in the way of relaxation. This music engendered a feeling of peace without engaging my left brain, that has a tendency to analyze music automatically even when I'd rather it not. The ambience, volume, lighting, and temperature were just right. He was good before, but he now brings a great deal more experience to his work. His techniques were often unlike anything I had experienced, and I felt that he knew exactly what he was doing and why - no guesswork involved at all. While his training was very good and I loved my early massages with him, I believe Kai has an innate intuition that now sets him head and shoulders above most other massage therapists I have worked with. He just knows exactly what to do, and several times he knew how I was feeling and responding before I verbalized it. I enjoyed the way he would spend time on an area, move onto another area, and then come back to the earlier area again. It didn't feel like "massage by number" - it felt holistic, complete and intuitive. I opted for the 2 hour massage, and it seemed to go on forever, which was amazing - I always feel my massages end too quickly. That means I was VERY engaged in the moment - in my body and out of my head, which is exactly what I want. I will never forget how I felt when he was done, and I enjoyed both the therapeutic and relaxation techniques he employed. He already knows he'll get another call from me when I'm back in town. I can't recommend him highly enough! read more

Kai is a professional. I do long-distance running, boxing and work a warehouse job lifting boxes all day. Even with stretching, my body began getting tight. If you're an athlete at any level, Kai's understanding of human anatomy and massage techniques will improve your performance and recovery. Kai also shares his knowledge to give you the ability to treat and prevent muscle tightness on your own. Incredible service for the price. read more

A wonderful massage experience - from the moment I make an appointment, to driving to the quiet residential street with tons of parking, walking across the sun soaked yard to the side entrance where you enter into another world of a dimly lit, comfortable studio with steady ambient music. Kai's greeting is sincere and welcoming and he checks in with me to see where we want to focus on in that session. He always offers me the opportunity to take a shower in his immaculately clean bathroom and then it's onto the table. I've seen Kai dozens of times over the years for reasons ranging from pain management of a bad back to restoring sore, worked out muscles to simple relaxing stress relief. He has NEVER lacked concentration of effort on a massage and he works hard in every session. In deep tissue sessions, he works so hard that he is sweating by the end from his wonderful effort. A cold glass of water and optional shower offer are always there to end the very reasonably priced session. Kai is the real deal and he is a very sweet, down to earth, attractive human being to boot. I can't recommend him enough. read more

I've been receiving massage therapy from Kai since he was newly licensed a few years ago. It amazes me to experience all of the new techniques he has developed, many of which he did not learn in school but learned through self-teaching. I have chronic back issues and Kai has been instrumental in alleviating my acute pain. He's created a very soothing space as well. Kai has got amazing strength for those of you who prefer a deep tissue massage. read more

I had issues looking over my shoulder from a old c-spine fusion. But after the first massage the mobility in my neck and shoulders was exceptionally well and I was able to drive and look in my blind spot and rotate my head...for the first time in many years. I have been going here consistently for maintenance ever since...now two years later. massages helped me a lot especially after hard workouts and races...muscles felt rejuvenated. read more

Kai is amazing. He has an acute understanding of the body and its musculature. He gives a very credible massage. He also makes you comfortable. He is always very warm and welcoming. We had a fire episode in our area. My back killed me loading the cars to escape in a hurry without realizing the wrong lifts. He corrected working hard and tediously. I felt so great. His techniques are outstanding. I highly recommend him. You should give a try. read more

Kai gave me a most excellent massage! This was my first massage with Kai and my first massage since March. I am so glad I did it. He maintains all the precautions you would want in these times, sanitizing everything before the appointment and wearing a mask at all times. You really feel safe. We discussed my specific issues and Kai listened and addressed them spot on with knowledge of the muscles, nerves and gave me tremendous relief. His room is tranquil and soothing as are his massage skills. I asked for deep tissue and Kai delivered a great massage that helped me to sleep that night better than I have in a long time. So very glad I did this. It made a world of difference, improving my mind and body. I will be returning for more of the same. read more

Just had a wonderful massage from Kai. What I liked best is that it was clearly not a cookie cutter massage, but rather it was tailored to my body and what was going on with it at that moment. He made sure to check in with me about the pressure and my general comfort level throughout the massage. Kai's studio in his house, accessed by its own entrance. The studio itself was warm and cozy with Himalayan Salt tea lights and candles. It's also quiet (just the sounds or relaxing music) with minimal light streaming in. Very much worth the price. Thank you Kai! read more

I, too, have been going to Kai for almost 2 years and simply put, he is one of the best, most thorough message therapists that I have had. I get a lot of massages for continuous neck and back issues and after his great massages, I feel very loose and energized. Give him a try, you won't go wrong. read more
