My typical diner breakfast is two eggs with corned beef hash, and the New Holiday Diner did not disappoint me. The hash is freshly made, not the store bought can of hash. The meal was accompanied by delicious shredded potatoes hash browns and sourdough toast. Went for breakfast on Sunday. Extremely busy. We were lucky to find parking right in front. Warmly greeted and seated within minutes. Waitress brought our coffees right away. Potatoes had flavor! Most times, I find the potatoes to be bland. This was lightly seasoned. They must have a new chef. Got 4 strips of bacon too. Hubby got the eggs with hash. He was happy. I got eggs with the potatoes. Bread slices were sour dough. Yummy. A little pricey ($43 w/o tip). But they kept the coffee filled and stopped by quite a bit to find out if anything else was needed. Will definitely return. Who would have thought I'd find delicious and authentic Mexican chilaquiles at a diner restaurant? The green sauce has the perfect combination of sourness and spiciness from the green tomatillos and peppers; of course, they wouldn't be authentic if they didn't come out with sunny-side-up eggs on top. I recommend asking for lots of extra cheese and sour cream on your chilaquiles, always! I also recommend trying one of their milkshakes; they have a monthly special, but I still went for the Oreo and Nutella milkshake. If you like sweets, you will love this one! I have been wanting to go to the diner ever since it opened and was excited to meet a group of friends there for dinner. There were 5 of us. From the seating to the goodbyes, we had a great time here. They gave us plenty of time to order while we caught up with each of us. We couldn't make up our minds whether to order their killer shakes for dinner, or to wait for dessert. We decided to bring them on. All of us were blown away by these special shakes. I got the blueberry and it was like nectar of the gods. Expensive at $10, yes, but you have to try one and then you'll understand. Or split one, which they allow. For dinner we order burgers, salads, wraps and all were top-notch. The menu is impressive and different from most diners in that the menu choices were manageable at 2 pages (front and back) instead of the usual book of items you sift through at other diners. Great diner in Danbury! We had heard the hype about their amazing shakes and my kids had been asking to try them out. The only reason I took one star of is the parking situation. Their lot is very small on a busier street and it was a pain finding parking. We had to go around the block twice and finally we scored a spot. Phew.... Once inside all was grand but the parking makes it a headache as far as running to go back here. Staff from the front door to waitress and owners were all so friendly and welcoming. Really nice vibe and quite clean and modern looking inside with nice decor for a diner. It's a smaller diner but they fit people in quickly and get food and drinks out efficiently. They definitely have a following of people and it was busy on a weekend afternoon when we went for lunch. Shakes- amazing and worth the hype! My oldest said it was the best shake he has ever had. I only got to taste and didn't get my own but it is on the docket for next time! Food was all typical diner fare. We all enjoyed our sandwiches and kids meals. One of the staff told my kids he would give them $100 if they finished their food- and he delivered with a cute diner $100 bill. I am in town for the San Generro festival and I am back for day #2 of the holiday diner. This place has delicious food and amazing service. Day #1 I had the holiday sampler, which is 2 eggs, 2 pancakes ( white I added Nutella, of course), 2 sausage and bacon. My husband got the corner beefed hash Benedict. Everything was so delicious. We wanted to try their milkshakes - but were so stuffed. Day #2, I am trying their honey ricotta toast with eggs and a side of sausage. It is different - but so so delish. The food is fabulous, and the servings are huge! I ordered a grilled chicken salad, was enough for 2 people! I took half back to hotel for dinner that night. Staff and ambiance awesome. My wife and I had lunch at the New Holiday Diner today and it was amazing! The service was great. As part of our order, my wife ordered a simple Ice Tea and commented after the first sip that it was something very different than she normally encounters. She noted that it was clearly freshly brewed. She had a BLT and it was perfectly prepared. I got a Turkey Club sandwich and it was also perfectly prepared. The bacon was not too crisp, and not too chewy. The sourdough was toasted to perfection. The Turkey seemed to be house made, like my wife's iced tea. I passed on the fries as a side and got a cup of their Cream of Broccoli soup and it was amazing! Clearly freshly made and made with skill. I'm from LA, but have family nearby to Danbury. We have a very diverse assortment of restaurant's in LA, but I've never come across one like this. If I find myself in the Danbury area again, I'll be sire to look this place up! read more

I always drive by this Diner and always thought about trying it but just never have until now. Ordered food via a delivery app and literally this order is the only food that got delivered hot. Other restaurants closer to our house dont always come hot. My fiancé ordered philly cheese steak which came with pickles and coleslaw which he enjoyed. What a discovery! I had never heard of this place. Looked on Yelp and went. The first thing that hit me was the place is super clean top to bottom. The service was great and the breakfast that I had was amazing. I tried the homemade corned beef hash and it was sooo good. My wife had the buttermilk pancakes and wow. There was a steady flow of customers but we were promptly seated in a booth. I opted for the corned beef hash and eggs while my boyfriend ordered the steak and eggs. The corned beef hash was tasty; not overly salty like most corned beef hash. I got my eggs scrambled and the meal was tasty. My biggest qualm: the side of potatoes was nothing special. They were almost like overcooked baked potatoes; mushy and no flavor. My boyfriend enjoyed his steak and eggs, but thought the steak had a ton of fat/gristle. He wasn't a fan of the potatoes either. We had scrambled eggs and homemade corned beef hash, a western omelette and rye and wheat toast. The table next to us of six 20 something young men each had a hadmilkshake which are the best milkshakes In the universe according to their poster out front but also by the young men who were there just for the milkshakes. Wishing we had the room and calorie count available so we could have tried a milkshake too. Great flavor combinations. Service was great. Nothing like a weekend off from cooking breakfast. My family's go to diner in town is always New Holiday Diner. Not only do they offer a phenomenal affordable burger package in the summertime (which comes with all the trimmings like pickle, cheese slices and tomato/lettuce and a bottle of ketchup) but they also offer a breakfast one too (pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries and a tray of fresh fruit) Although this time we individually wanted each something different we opted for ordering per person. I ordered the chocolate chip pancakes which came with 3 soft, fluffy and moist pancakes, yumm! The Mexican omelet had fresh jalapeños which weren't spicy at all. The Spanish omelet is similar to the Mexican except it had salsa in the middle and each came with it's side of home fries and buttered toast (thruth be told I love me some soggy buttered bread) the home fries were perfectly seasoned. Usually they tend to be quite mushy and sorta salt less (in general, not the ones at this particular place) but these had a crust over them and not too over cooked. For extra measure (as if we didn't order a lot) we ordered plain ,blueberry and m&m pancakes, 2 bacon egg and cheese sandwiches not pictured. We got our little cups of butter and syrup along with napkins and plastic utensils. Oh and did I mention this place has a flavor of the month milkshake? Yup, peanut butter chocolate drizzle this month! I don't do dairy like that but they sound and look fantastic! The staff and owners are so kind and super friendly. The pandemic has not been too kind to the restaurant business. Slowly but surely it's beginning to pick up and this place stays busy on the weekends now. Stopped off at New Holiday Diner after a long road trip. I got the Chipotle Cheeseburger Wrap and my friend got the Turkey BLT and Ranch Wrap. We all enjoyed our food. It was hot and fresh and the fries were delicious. I also ordered the fresh squeezed OJ (they make it in house) it was delectable. The waitress was very friendly but service was a little slow . If we ever finds ourselves in Dansbury again I will definitely stop by. read more

We're heading home from Georgia and stumbled into this great place. The parking lot was jammed and the manager came out and directed us to block in his employee's cars. Warm reception.
