I was in for some car repairs across the street and this place caught my eye as I was hungry. It didn't look like much from the outside, but thought I'd take a chance. I ordered Hot and sour soup and the Singapore mei fun. The service was very abrupt as they were busy with takeout orders. I waited a reasonable time for the food to be prepared. The hot and sour soup was overly sweet, was under flavored, didn't have much spice and lacked body. The Singapore mei fun was actually decent and well stocked with shrimp, pork, egg and chicken. It also had a nice spice kick. Would I go out of my way to order there again? No. There are many other better Chinese restaurants in the area. This has been my go-to place for Chinese food since the early 1990's. Most of the time I get it delivered. Never had a problem with the food. Saltiness was never an issue. My orders cover a range of various food items. Love their Shrimp and Scallops in Garlic Sauce. The egg rolls are fresh tasting. A favorite is also the Shrimp Egg Foo Young. This place is a must if you're looking for your typical greasy, salty Chinese food. The portion size is enormous for the price. My chicken lo mein came to $11 and change for a dinner combo and the container was exploding with food. I also really appreciated that they give you an option for a soda instead of an egg roll with your meal. Ordering online was easy and my food was ready very quickly. I can see parking being a problem if you're there when it's busy as there's only curb parking. But definitely a solid place, especially if you're hungry on a budget. read more

New Great wall has very good food. Jessica at the front desk is always friendly and gets orders out quickly. Parking is a bit of a pain at times but it's worth it for the meal. The food that was delivered was spoiled and included chicken that had gone bad and should not have been served! I ordered food from Seamless.com from New Great Wall. I ordered two chicken dishes, General Tso's Chicken and Sesame Chicken. Both dishes contained chicken that was spoiled and tasted bad. The chicken was old and should not have been served and put customers at risk for food related illness. I contacted New Great Wall and the woman (Sophie) who answered the phone was not concerned that they served spoiled food. She asked me to bring the food back to the restaurant when I asked to be refunded. The food had been delivered. I asked her to have the delivery guy pick up the food. She said he would come immediately. He never came. Seamless.com customer service finally refunded me after two hours when it became clear that no one was coming. I never had a truly negative experience, as the ones outlines in previous reviews, regarding the food, however, after being spoken to by two of the rudest people I have ever encountered, this place has been deleted from my GrubHub account. Overall, the concept that there are many more Chinese restaurants, with better quality food, must not have sunk in with them. Not awful - and I feel a lot of primarily delivery Chinese is - but not great. Ordered: eggrolls - while surprisingly not overly greasy, they were remarkably bland, scallion pancakes - DREADFUL. Tasted like paste. Looked like filo dough. Not a hint of scallion. Even the sauce did not disguise the dry cardboard taste General Tso's chicken. Sauce was thin but not bad. Chicken was of poor quality, which was a huge turn off. very dry and stringy. Singapore Mei Fun - OK. Not stellar but not bad. it actually tasted pretty good but the sauce was a funny yellow-green instead of the vibrant yellow I'm used to. it was off-putting for that reason more than anything else. Also, a LOT of filler - lots of celery, onion, etc and very little protein Sesame noodles - surprisingly GOOD!! Definitely a happy surprise. Sauce was excellent. Garnished with bean sprouts which was a happy and tasty surprise. Would recommend this dish Chicken Fried Rice - acceptable. But it's hard to screw that up. ordered through Seamless. Took about 65 minutes which I felt was fair. Food did arrive hot. The portion sizes are excellent, although you must acknowledge getting huge portions of only mediocre food is not much of an incentive. If you have the patience to mess around with it, the amount given is easily enough for 2 full meals - the spice and flavors could be punched up by the average home cook easily enough. Purchased several orders from the restaurant under new ownership and was pleasantly surprised by the decent quality of the food. The hot and sour soup was not just broth with pieces of pork and tofu here and there, but contained significant amount of content. The curry chicken and shredded beef each contained sufficient amount of tender pieces of chicken and beef respectively. The Singapore mai fun had roast pork, shrimp, egg, onion and celery, but could have used a bit more curry or perhaps just a touch of hot pepper flakes to raise the heat a bit more. Decent Chinese place. The portions are generous for the lunch specials, the staff are nice and the food is average. It's what you would expect from a low cost Chinese place. Everything is great. in love with the general t'so chicken, perfect amount of spice. Shrimp and broccoli made to PERFECTION.
