Literally I could spend hours and hours walking round this pub looking at all the posters and quotes layering the walls. Highlights are definitely the Marvel wall and don't even get me started on the Elvis toilet and the female icon wall in the toilet (yey). Sadly, we didn't have a full meal but we did try the chips and cheese and the apple crumble which we're both good. Shout out to their creamy homemade mayonnaise, seriously give it a try! I will be back to try their roast and spend another merry Sunday afternoon here.

Even from the…read moreoutside it is easy to appreciate the atmosphere the owners have cleverly created as large round windows are filled with candles and framed by purple velvet drapes. Inside this great style is continued as The Alma makes a use of its cavernous structure to create several distinct seating areas littered with sofa's and old wooden tables. A walled patio area outside offers even more seating as well as a bit of comfort for smokers. The Alma also fancies itself a bit 'gastro' and has a great food menu which changes regularly. Though I found it a bit expensive for breakfast, my Eggs Benedict were lovely. With food like this and such a buzzing atmosphere The Alma is a must try for everyone!

Came here with a group of 6, for Sunday roast (when all other restaurants in the area were completed booked and had no reservations available as of the day before)... we each had a different roast option and were very happy. Not amazing, but not as doused or overcooked as some of the Sunday roasts I've had elsewhere. Kid friendly. Dog friendly. A little more calm than some of the nearby pubs that are overflowing and noisy. Open, light, more airy and clean than some pubs. 4 stars for being one of the better pub experiences/vibes, good menu selection, nice ambiance and based on the fact that I will return here for a meal.

The place was packed, so it was obviously a hit with the locals. ***3.5 Stars*** Not…read morethe best pub fare, but still a decent option if you're looking for some cheap and filling pub food in the Stratford area. I stayed in Stratford while visiting London and I passed by this pub a few times while on my way to the city. I finally decided to stop by for brunch one morning before heading to the train station. This pub is really spacious!!! They have a really nice back patio area and a few tables out front. There's no table service here but you can order from your phone using an app or just order from the bar. What makes this place great are their ridiculously cheap deals! OH how I loooove them great deals! You can get an ish load of food for about £3.50 (that's roughly $5 in American dollars give or take the daily exchange rate). They also have great deals on drinks and you can get pitchers of beer and cocktails for dirt cheap too. I ended up ordering their traditional breakfast in addition to a bowl of porridge which was too damn much food for lil' ol' me. But you know how Yelp goes; eyes are always bigger than your stomach! The traditional breakfast includes sausage, bacon, hash browns, toast, eggs, beans and a tomato. HELLA food for £3.50!!! As far as the food quality goes, it was nothing spectacular but it was still good. It did the deed for brunch so I wasn't complaining. I actually really liked the porridge but got too full to finish it. It was thick but still really creamy. You can choose which toppings that you want with it. I chose bananas and brown sugar which went perfectly! I had only planned on getting one drink but it didn't make sense since it was only a couple dollars less than getting a full pitcher. I had been drinking beer for the past few days, so I decided to get a pitcher of their Tuity Fruity cocktail. Um yeah... didn't finish that either! But, I sho' tried my damned hardest. The cocktail was tasty and I didn't feel anything at first, but I did end up getting a buzz as I was walking to the train station. Thank GAWD for the train station because driving wouldn't have been an option. Although there was no table service, everyone that I encountered at the pub was extremely friendly. This seems like a locals joint too as many of the staff members knew people as they walked in. This is also a great place to catch the games since they have a tons of TV's inside. All in all, it's a solid spot for a cheap and filling brunch in the Stratford area.
