We have not tried the food here but the beer is always very good, me and my buddy are fans of ales and the selection there is away from the generic choices normally offered in pubs therefore it is a welcome relief. I also like their loyalty cards where after buying 6 pints you get the 7th free. The pub has a cosy welcoming feel for families and they offer pub food also. Furthermore the pub also has free wifi. It's a nice establishment and the best choice in an area lacking good alternatives.

I particularly like the homely feel of the pub none more so when we used so much glassware they came and had to wash our glasses to serve our next round of drinks! The décor is Victorian and the walls are covered with various beer memorabilia, most coming from somewhere else of course, but that doesn't make it look any less impressive. The drinks are cheap, about 2 pounds a pint for the ales. The lagers are a little more. The reason why the ale is so reasonable? Well it is brewed just out back. This pubs small beer garden separates the pub from the Brodie's brewery. They do make some excellent beers. The Blonde and the sunshine were my favourites but I managed to sample most of them and they were all pretty decent. The Thai food here is reputed to be excellent. I'm afraid I only tried some prawn crackers but they were certainly decent so I'd be keen to try a full meal here sometime. So I had a bellini in a plastic champagne glass. The boss expressed some surprise at this but I told him it's probably for the best when your clientele is the 'quantity over quality, belligerent binge-drinker' type. The last thing you need when you dare to look at someone funny in the girl's toilets is for them to have a dangerous weapon in hand. I also had a cosmopolitan. In a plastic martini glass. With a straw so you can get it down your neck quicker. Awesome. We decided to leave having been there for an hour with no further patrons walking through the door. But don't listen to me - if you're 18, sporting five inch heels and a mahogany spray tan and are looking to get liquored up in order to bag a footballer then this is the place for you. I will say one thing though. I'm old enough to remember the 80s FIRST TIME ROUND and nothing was this '80s' even then. I mean check out the sign! It should say 'Cocktails (except martinis) and Dreams'. And I can't give a good score to a bar that plays Phil Collins. I'm off to the pub for a gin and tonic IN A PROPER GLASS.
