I visited the Plough Inn Sewardstone for the third time today. I dont live that close, but today I thought of it as a nice place to walk my dog and take lunch outdoors.
Firstly: the food. Everytime Ive eaten here its been solid pub food. As you walk through the restaurant, you can see everyone has cleared their plates. they have a specials board ( once its gone its gone, and a couple of specials had gone today). including cajun chicken, chicken and ham pie etc.
I had the nachos and my partner had the small scampi and chips ( both 5.95) I really enjoyed the nachos, perfect size for one. I had the chilli and it was really nice, using black-eyed beans which looked and tasted great. When boyfriends meal came- and I saw the size of it- I immediately thought they had got the order wrong and ordered the large size - they hadnt. Large portion for 5.95! very happy with the food again, roast dinners looked great too but sadly a bit heavy for such a hot day!
Second: really nice staff. A member of staff saw our dog and offered to get her a bowl of water- even though there were larger dog bowls further away. We thought this was very sweet. Otherwise the staff are sweet and smiley.
Third: the views- I love to sit outside here looking out onto the countryside, honestly feels miles away from London! Lovely country views, butterflies and wildflowers galore. There is loads of outside seating and tables with parasols for very sunny days.
They have a pub quiz on tuesdays, a climbing frame for the kids read more
