This is my go to place for a quick grab and go Chinese food. Im usually there once or twice a week and order my comfort food "gen tso chicken" combo platter. In fact every time I call in my order, they already know what I'm going to order and have my order down. The chicken is marinated pretty good tossed in the sauce coated nicely. Comes with of choice of fried rice or white rice and either egg roll oR a hot and sour soup The food. is ready in less than 10 minutes. Stopped in for a quick lunch. Was in the mood for dumplings. Never judge a book by its cover is the saying ...place is not much to look at, a couple tables to sit at. All the staff is behind a wall of plexiglass. They are very friendly and welcoming. The dumplings were delicious! Nice dough to meat ratio and very tasty. The sauce was sweet and savory and just added to the dumplings. They do catering as well. They were very busy with take out orders. The food is just OK it's very bland. One of the items we ordered was chicken and broccoli. We pay the extra two dollars for extra meat and we only got a total of three pieces of broccoli it was the large order and it had very little sauce. They also did not give us any white rice. They do not give fortune cookies unless you pay for them. I will say that it's very clean, but they have a very young child answering the phone. He is very polite, but Should not be working in a Chinese restaurant when I called them to complain about the broccoli and no white rice he was the one that answered the phone and was very baffled and put two other people on the phone. Been ordering from them 2-4x per week for quite a while now. Usually they're a bit on point but sometime last week I was starving and put an order in. Normally they deliver within 30-40 minutes but an hour twenty minutes goes by and no update/call/anything. I reached out to them and they said they would call the driver -- another 10-15 minutes go by and no update or delivery. I reach back out again and tell them I'm going to get food elsewhere if they have no updated for me because I had not ate since before noon. She places me on hold and I said they would have to discount something or I'm going to turn the food away -- after waiting on hold for another 5 minutes, the driver shows up at my door and took $2 off. No apology for the delays or anything. The least they could do is take accountability - I've been ordering with them long enough that every person who picks up the phone there already knows what I'm going to order. To treat a regular that way is unacceptable. After 4-5 days, I tried giving them a call to put in an order and I thought I had a phone connection issue because it said the number is unavailable. Seemed quite strange but after waiting half an hour, I tried again to hear the same automated response. I tried with a different phone and it rings -- in other words, they messed up taking extremely long, setting wrong expectations, and not even reaching out to the customer to let them know there will be a delay while I sat waiting and starving and they then in turn get upset they had to take $2 off the order and block my phone number. That type of lack of accountability deserves a 1 star. Especially after as long as I've been a regular. Now I'll go somewhere that actually appreciates their customer's business. read more

Heard the place was under new management, so tonight we decided to give it a try. Called and a friendly woman picked up who made my ordering process very simple. She turned out to be even nicer in person, offering a smile and a kind exchange. I ordered a large chicken and broccoli with garlic sauce. The portion size was very generous and the rice was sticky just like I like it! I couldn't give them five stars because after eating it I noticed a significant amount of oil in the sauce. Although the sauce was good, it seemed like there was an unnecessary amount of oil used when cooking. I will continue to update this when I try future dishes! read more

2/28/13 - UPDATE: I wanted to give an update and upgrade my rating from 4 stars to 5. In the past several months they forgot my beloved spring rolls twice, I never mentioned it when ordering the next time, even though I should have and it happen twice -- but low and behold, the next time I went in they remembered that they forgot my springrolls, and didn't charge me the next two times. It's great that they remember the regulars, and are honest when they know they forgot something on your order. I was really impressed and that will keep me going back! When I moved to the area about 6 years ago I was glad there was a take out place so close. The food is very fresh...I always see the mom? Preparing fresh veggies when I'm in there. I've never been disappointed by anything. Their spring rolls are big and delicious!! Egg drop soup is the best in the area for take out. The young ladies that work there are characters. Tough cookies and quite a bit of attitude but don't let that get to you. I actually get a smile out of them now. I would recommend! read more

Wow. I had this for the first time today and I will definitely be back. Majority of your basic Chinese food take out spots are very bland and do not customize your order the way you want. This place is completely different. Everything from the soups to dumplings to entrees were on point and customized the way we asked for it to be. I really anticipated better based on other reviews. Perhaps I chose wrong since I didn't see other reviews mentioning the Beef & Broccoli. The beef was so spongy I ended up doing an internet search for a valid explanation. I can't be sure they used the method that made sense, but it appears a popular process to tenderize the meat may cause an overly spongy texture. It resulted in a rather slimy, light colored beef, overwhelming the entire dish. At first glance when opening the container I thought they gave me chicken by mistake. This is my go to Chinese take out place. I work right around the corner so I order from here at least once every 2 weeks! The food is delicious and the quantity is large. The food here is pretty good - I liked everything I've ordered, and the portions and meat to veggie ratio is decent. Prices are reasonable as well. The only critique I have is about customer service - this seems like a family business, and the daughter (I'm assuming) that works at the counter looks and acts like she doesn't give two hoots about you or her family's livelihood. She's a little rude and would obviously rather be hanging out with her friends or something. Overall when I've called, I get kind of a "whatever" attitude which I guess isn't a dealbreaker - but c'mon! My friend who also orders from here told me that they asked if he wanted to wait on an order because they were cleaning the kitchen. MMMkay. My favorite meal(the boneless ribs with fried rice) the ribs are tough and easily get stuck in your teeth, the fried rice is actually pretty decent though. It seemed like after everything we ate, my wife and I looked at each other and said "pretty good." The general tso's had a lot of very sweet sauce. The dumplings were falling apart, but the sauce was good. The bbq ribs looked great, very big, but had a lot of fat on them. The egg rolls were huge, but very greasy. The lo mein was good, as was the chicken chow fun, but both could have used a bit more sauce and flavor. Like I said, it was "pretty good." Overall, this place made us a ton of food for not a lot of money. The inside is a mess, this is a take out only type place. The girl at the front counter definitely seemed pissed, but my guess it's from dealing with drunk and high college kids calling in orders all day. I have been coming here from last 12 years when the girl and the boy where really girl and boy. Yes, they are some time in bad mood (well most of the time), food quality has gone down in last five or so years BUT STILL FIVE STAR the reason is when my wife was pregnant with my second child she craved for some chines food she order and went to pick up (yes you know where I am going with this but don't get ahead of me) she forgot money home, she thought he won't give the food BUT BUT to I and her(my wife) was surprise when they gave her food and said its ok you can give money afterwards. Delivery? What delivery? Tried to place an order for delivery tonight. When I called, the person who answered the phone said she wasn't sure if they delivered to my town. I am located in the next town over and I was surprised. So I gave her my address and was told it was too far. Delicious, solid Chinese spot, in an area that desperately needs it. Edison Wok is smack in the middle of a weird strip mall by Middlesex County College, and my house. I thought it to be just a dumpy regular quick order and go type of place, but I was surprised by the quality of the food here. Nothing tasted frozen or funny, and the lunch specials are quite affordable ( and big portions too! ). This is a family owned establishment, and often the younger late teen/early twenties daughters take the orders and fry up some stuff sometimes, and the mom and others cook mostly. I can dig that, and I can taste the unity in the flavors of the food. My favorites from here are the boneless rib tips ( not as greasy and saucy as other restaurants' ), the chicken in garlic sauce, and beef and broccoli. The broccoli is sooo tender and yummy, soaked in that beefy flavored juice....ugh....if only they were open 24/7, I could use some right now.. If you live in the area or go to MCC across the way, you can even enjoy your meal right there. at one of the tables.
