New Dimension Comics is such a great store. I find something I (think I) need, every time I walk in the doors. New Dimension Comics is enormous. You can wonder around the store aimlessly and and find pretty much anything and everything, "comic" related. They have a ton of comics, from old to new releases, toys, some t shirts, books, and more. the staff there is really friendly. A few times I was asked what I needed assistance with and made sure that I knew that they were there to help. They have a huge selection of Funko POP! action figures which I always enjoy looking through as well as vintage toys from my childhood- some in the box and some out. No matter what, I feel like if you're looking for it, it's going to be here and the price isn't going to be that high. No matter what I looked at, I wasn't shocked by the sticker price which is pretty uncommon. I've traded in comics here before. You can either get cash or trade in value. At the end of my visit I walked out with my Archie Comics coloring book which I was very excited about for about $10 which I thought was a good deal. I wanted to buy more, but there is always next time, you know? This is definitely a local business I'll always support when I'm in town.

View from the front of the store. Definitely the biggest comic shop I've ever seen in my life.

Certainly this is the biggest comic book shop I'd ever been to in my entire life. At least in terms of floor space, it's the size of a grocery store. As far as the amount of inventory, it's pretty big, but herein lies the problem. You have all this space, but the inventory is the spread across it like a grid of lonely islands. It just felt weird and cold, and to get a hold of one of the employees you'd find yourself walking half a football field. None of the employees wore anything to distinguish themselves as employees (Hey, if you're going to run a comic book shop like a grocery store, go ahead and put your guys in vests with a nametag or something). Also the prices were steep outside of the bargain bin stuff. High prices are to be expected at physical shops, but usually I feel good about shelling out the premium in order to support a local owner or someone who I can look in the eye and get to know. Here, on the other hand, it's like some weird corporate misstep or some half-baked scheme to create a comic book superstore. Even the vast walls had a few gigantic movie posters here and there but were still mostly empty. A pretty dismal experience. I'll take a small mom-and-pop shop any day of the week over this soulless mess of a store.

    Order history and card charged.

Best thing to do is go to www.copacetic.biz or even better head over to the store, nestled in a quiet corner of Squirrel Hill across from the police department. Bill (the owner) stocks an unbelievable range of comics, books, DVDs, music, and art in his tiny space. You won't find many contemporary superheros here, but what you will find is all the modern artsy comics you can handle, the Criterion collection of DVDs, weird discount European jazz label imports, Little Lulu, punk rock, Pauline Kael, the Dover collection of classic literature, local zines, a big comfy chair, and most importantly, the proprietor who will find out your tastes and guide you to the material that will best intrigue and interest you. He encourages browsing and reading, and there's usually classic or independent cinema playing on the small TV, or else classic jazz on the stereo. I checked the "$" price rating because nearly everything that Bill sells is discounted from the original price - including both the new stuff and the classics (on which many of which other stores have bagged and marked-up the price). This is extremely rare in comics retailing. Since moving to New York City, the two retail institutions I've missed the most from Pittsburgh are (1) REI, and (2) Copacetic. Go there now!

I give this place two stars because it contains game products and dice. Buy your dice online to save about 40% of what these guys are charging. And find a place with some fans or working A/C if you want to play in a public place in the summer months. I can only imagine how cold it gets up there in the winter. I personally won't be going to find out.

Great friendly store. We ended up getting an expansion to "King of Tokyo / Kind of New York". They have a backroom full of cards and miniatures for all types of games. Getting into the store was odd. You have to take a small wooden set of steep stairs (not ADA compliant) and next too a nail shop. But overall it's a great little place. I told the owners I found there store through yelp and they kinda looked at me confused and said "ohhhh okay." So maybe there not into the social media outlets and potentials, but there still great guys. They also make great recommendations.

Workers there have egos that…read morethey think gives them the right to talk down to you if you don't have the comic knowledge they go! Plain ignorance is not how you run a store. I've been a patron since the squirrel hill days when I was in grade school and I was always talked down to then and now. I highly recommend to Avoid record store day at eides because they don't like selling you vinyl because you go there one day a year or 2. You have to be a constant customer for them to sell you vinyl you want. They hold vinyl for people their friends and staff. I came to pick up vinyl one time I ordered and they sold it to their staff. If you're not a regular don't count on getting what u want. You can't carry records and look around you have to buy them right away or they will take them back and sell to their friends. Even if you went for years and spent $100s of dollars it means absolutely nothing. I would find a new place to go where the workers actually talk to you and let you browse and treat you like a customer should. Other people go once a year but for some reason I'm. Always singled out and I spend the most money there on record store day. I can't help the fact that I have a terminal illness and trying to get disability and I still get treated like shit. They know I have physical and financial limitations but that's always ignored. It's money money money. If they don't stop treating customers like shit especially a customer from the 1980s I'm done buying anything there. I get enough horrible things that happen to me outside of eides. If you have a question if you call them they don't like they will hang up on you. The store is struggling enough but they chose to do things that will close this store sooner than later. The customer does not come first! They actually took records I was buying from me and fold them to their staff! Who does that! If you browse with records in your hand they get mad and ask you put them back so other people can buy them! Wow talk about rude! I was waiting for money to be deposited in my account and they were so mad becsuse they wanted their money then and now when I was buying like $400 worth of music!

For over a decade, my husband and I have shopped at this store off and on. During our most recent visit on a Saturday, this store had lots of customers. The selection of books and other products, of course, is much smaller than what we find online from online retailers, but it is still a decent assortment, and we often find some products to buy for moderate prices. Most recently I found lap desks that I liked for $30-60. This store also has a cafe, although I do not recall ever eating there. Overall, this Barnes & Noble is a nice place where people--both adults and children--can spend some time discovering new books, movies, music, and games. Sometimes you need to see products in person rather than online to know if you like them or not.
