Andrew from New Day Arbor came out and provided a free tree inspection for safety for cypress trees and to address birch beetle issue. He was professional and competent. The bid seemed reasonable for the amount of work to be done. On the day of the cut, crew were not only on time, they showed up 15 minutes early. They were friendly, efficient, did the work they said they would do and made sure the place was clean. A. couple of fence boards got broken when a limb fell and they promptly replaced the fence boards with new ones. I would recommend them and hire them again. read more

I have used New Day Arborist three times in the last two years for a variety of projects including trimming and reducing two 100 ft Ponderosa pine that were presenting a safety concern.. This was after previously hiring two arborists to handle these trees. Both cut the bottom few limbs off and called it a day. My trees were no safer than when I started. They certainly didn't look better. ... New Day Arborists, on the other hand, are skilled arborists who are also artistic. They carefully select and trim the limbs that need to be removed for safety leaving an attractive balanced tree. Garrett invests time beforehand talking to your about your goals, educating you on your options, and the long term health of your trees with each option, and also pricing. From a pricing perspective, this arborist is competitive with other certified arborists. Some or more and some are less. Arborists are always more expensive than tree cutters. Expect to pay more for their knowledge of tree health, skill, and artistry. The difference is that this arborist is actually worth the additional cost beyond a tree cutter. My experience is that many claim to be arborists, yet the service provided is no better and costs more in the long run. I have used New Day Arborist to remove dead wood and trim Doug firs, Ponderosa pines, cedar, and trim overgrown Arbor vitae and photinia hedges. They trimmed a large Atlas Cedar for me that was hanging over my house. It was a tricky situation since it was my neighbors tree but they communicated with the neighbor as necessary to convince her they would honor the tree without compromising safety. I also had them remove two flowering pears and grind the stumps. The work was neat and clean and the workers respectful and polite. Great job. read more

They were fast and professional. They came out 1 week after quoting me to just cut down a dead tree. They told me to cut it down would be dangerous and I would have to have climbers. It only took 20 minutes and no climbing at all. The reason for the two stars is they quoted me for this dangerous project and turns out it wasn't. So, be aware they charge $2475.00 an hour. And if you question it they will just tell you how dangerous it was and they assume all the risk. So maybe I'm wrong but two guys in a Prius and a chainsaw will cost you 1650.00 before tax. Also, after I contacted them about what I though was excessive. I was told by Jeff with his reply that some jobs are more profitable than others and I basically am the customer that gets to pay the profits for all the other jobs. read more

I have used Andrew's services for years and want to say he and his team and quick, clear, reliable and efficient. Pricing is very reasonable. I have worked with New Day to prune and cut out deadwood on five old growth trees in close proximity to my house twice in the past three years. I was impressed both times and then again most recently when a limb came down during the windstorm in November. Although it was a small job, they came within a day and removed all debris and the left the site clean. I am also impressed with their ability to negotiate issues with neighbors. Jeff Day, within an hour or so immediately responded to my request for quote on cutting & trimming my 21 year old Arborvitaes. He promptly arrived at my property as well that very day to see the trees and see first hand what I was asking to be done with them. He is a Board Certified Master Arborist with a view of what is best for the trees along with insight into what his potential customer is asking for. He quoted an economical reasonable price for the work at hand & when it should be done for what is the most beneficial timing for the Tree in its seasonal growth cycle. His Tree Service Crew performed true perfectionists work on my trees. Florentino headed up the crew & he listened well to what I wanted accomplished & he was very clear with what he could and would do before he did it. He made sure starting with the first tree that I was going to be happy with the outcome. The crew was very caring of my property and finished in about 4 hours time with the 26 mature Emerald Green Arborvitaes that had never experienced a professional cut & trim previously. Garrett Day is the scheduler and Certified Arborist and, per my request, he has set a reoccurring schedule for maintaining the trees into the future. I have a very large tree that I really love. However, it had been hit by lighting about 20 years ago, that weaken the tree, then when a windstorm came through the top 25+ ft fell off. I was very concerned and wanted a real Arborist to look at the damage and save the tree, The tree is well over 100 years old. The crew arrived on time and went to work, they had a lot of work to do. They worked really well together and were very concerned about not creating and more damage as the limbs came down, I could see that they took safety very seriously. although it was a lot of work, They had a 3 man crew and worked a full 8 hrs. I felt their price was reasonable. I enjoyed the look afterwards. They cleaned up everything, protected the lawn when they brought the equipment in. I would recommend them again. Their was a lot of dead wood and it was draping on the house, now all the dead wood is gone , it is safe and they brought it up about 10 ft from the roof. The tree looks healthy and safe again. New Day Arborist did a fantastic job for us from start to finish. Jeff Day, certified arborist, came out months ago to do a condition analysis on the three very large trees on a parcel were were considering buying (adjacent to our current land where we live). I asked what tree would he recommend we plant on it. Months afterwards (took a while for the survey), yesterday they delivered a Tulip Tree (3" caliper, 13' feet tall). It looks as good as we hoped -- and then some. The delivery person Carter was very informative and helpful getting it unloaded off their trailer, giving us some great suggestions as to what we should do from there on as we later planted it. In the middle, kudos to Garrett Day, also a certified Arborist, who was our point of contact over the past two months. He's very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and he precisely worked around scheduling issues we had on our end. He was easy and constructive to work with. Great process from start to finish.
