Colin from New Day Arborist came out quickly (and right on time) to look at the trees we needed trimming for an outdoor kitchen project. The present job involved trimming and proper pruning a weeping cherry tree, our neighbor's very overgrown Leland Cypress coming over into our yard, and heavily trimming a giant snowbell hydrangea. He gave us thoughtful ideas on what we needed, assured me he wouldnt kill my favorite hydrangea and then took the time to come to our rear yard and look over two additional projects, which he also gave us bids on. All the information was clear and useful, and the bids werent necessarily cheap (but taking down 200+foot trees isnt going to be) but they were reasonable, and I like that they are actual certified arborists, not just tree trimmers. The work was started on time, beautifully done and the two gentlemen cleaned up every bit of debris and clipping. Masterful We will absolutely be calling New Day back to finish the other two projects. No nonsense, no pressure, no selling you more than you need. Very much recommend. read more

We contacted New Day Arborist for an estimate to remove a small tree in our yard on the strength of a recommendation from someone we know that had a positive experience using their service. Unfortunately, our experience ended up being very different. First contact with their administrative office was pleasant. They were polite, professional and seemed very eager to help with our service need of having a small backyard tree and stump removed, and an appointment for an estimator was made for two days later at 8:00 am. On the day of the estimation, I went out to our driveway at 7:50 am and waited for his arrival. I received a call from the estimator 10 minutes after he was supposed to be there to tell me that he was going to be another 15 minutes later. It was frustrating, but we needed the work done to be able to move on with our landscaping renovation, and we decided to move forward once we had what we felt to be a fair estimate. The day before the work was scheduled to be done, I received a call from their office to confirm the appointment. I confirmed and mentioned that the estimator had informed me that we had been scheduled for between 8:00 am and 9:30 am, and the office person that I was speaking with told me that we were actually scheduled as the first job of the day, so it would be on the early side of things. The day came and I was back out in the driveway at 7:45 am in case the crew arrived early. They were not early, they were not late - they never showed up at all. No call. Nothing. After the no-show I called their office at almost a quarter to 10:00 and got nothing but a ring through to their answering service. The service took the information and tried to contact the crew, but received no response. They told me they would try to contact someone and have them get back to me. I told them I was already an hour and a half late for work, couldn't wait anymore and to just cancel the job. I finally received a call from their office at a little before 11:00 am asking if the crew had arrived yet. I was stunned and told her that the crew never showed up at all. I was told that things had been a little chaotic and she had been out in the field with no one in the office to answer calls. She apologized and asked about having the job rescheduled. Again, I was stunned. I told her that their person was late doing the estimation to begin with and their crew never showed up at all to do the work, making me late to work both days, and I had absolutely no confidence in their ability to actually follow through at this point. She apologized again and said that if they knew that I had to be to work, then they really try to be conscientious about the time. Once again, I was stunned. The implication that there was a need to inform them that I also had a job and responsibilities so that they would try to be more punctual was astounding. The last contact that I received was a message left on my phone by their general manager later that day. He said that it was his fault - that they had some guys call in sick and he had to "shuffle some things around", and he sent the crew to the wrong job first. While I appreciate the call to apologize, it's hard for me to imagine that a company's general manager would have a difficult time looking at a day's jobs list and sending the crews out appropriately. I can even understand the need for a business to have to prioritize in a situation where you have some of your people out, and we were a one-off small job that was only going to accrue their bare minimum charge to come out. What I can't understand is the total lack of professionalism to even call and let us know, instead leaving me waiting for a crew that was never going to show up. Fortunately, we were able to contact one of the other tree services that we had received bids from, and their service was a stark contrast to our experience with New Day Arborist. We were able to get the removal/grind scheduled for two days after we contacted them. The job was scheduled between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm on a Wednesday. The crew drove up at 10:28, had a chainsaw on the tree at 10:31, were grinding the stump by 10:39 and were finished, cleaned up and off site by 10:52 am. I was as amazed by the speed, quality and professionalism of the replacement tree service as I was by the complete failure of New Day Arborist, and have been more than happy to share our experiences with both businesses at our local nurseries that we visit as we now move forward with our landscape renovation. read more

We are on eight acres and had Andrew come out to provide a quote for pruning our large leaf maples and sweet gum trees. Andrew was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful in explaining how to best prune the trees and what we can do to address the long term health of our trees. The crew: Joseph, Paco and Jose, were an absolute delight. Jospeh took time to explain the birch beetle invasion and how I can best help to keep my trees healthy from them. Everyone I worked with had in-depth knowledge of trees and they were clearly passionate about their profession. Pricing was fair, the crew was on-time, and they left everything neat and tidy. We will definitely use them again and recommend them to our friends and neighbors! read more

Andrew from New Day Arbor came out and provided a free tree inspection for safety for cypress trees and to address birch beetle issue. He was professional and competent. The bid seemed reasonable for the amount of work to be done. On the day of the cut, crew were not only on time, they showed up 15 minutes early. They were friendly, efficient, did the work they said they would do and made sure the place was clean. A. couple of fence boards got broken when a limb fell and they promptly replaced the fence boards with new ones. I would recommend them and hire them again. read more

I very much appreciated the professionalism of Steve at New Day Arborist. He came and listened to my concerns and anxieties about several trees on my property. His remarks were very thorough and easy to understand. I learned so much from our conversation. Thank you for taking the time to make sure all of my questions were answered. Highly recommend! read more

They were trimming the tree on the street next door to my house, the reason for the review is that they blocked the street and my driveway preventing me from getting to my own property! No permit to block the street at all! read more

I have used New Day Arborist three times in the last two years for a variety of projects including trimming and reducing two 100 ft Ponderosa pine that were presenting a safety concern.. This was after previously hiring two arborists to handle these trees. Both cut the bottom few limbs off and called it a day. My trees were no safer than when I started. They certainly didn't look better. ... New Day Arborists, on the other hand, are skilled arborists who are also artistic. They carefully select and trim the limbs that need to be removed for safety leaving an attractive balanced tree. Garrett invests time beforehand talking to your about your goals, educating you on your options, and the long term health of your trees with each option, and also pricing. From a pricing perspective, this arborist is competitive with other certified arborists. Some or more and some are less. Arborists are always more expensive than tree cutters. Expect to pay more for their knowledge of tree health, skill, and artistry. The difference is that this arborist is actually worth the additional cost beyond a tree cutter. My experience is that many claim to be arborists, yet the service provided is no better and costs more in the long run. I have used New Day Arborist to remove dead wood and trim Doug firs, Ponderosa pines, cedar, and trim overgrown Arbor vitae and photinia hedges. The always arrive on time, are polite, have good customer service skills. check in with the owner for feedback as they are doing the project, clean up all the debris leaving the space neater than when they arrived. read more

They trimmed a large Atlas Cedar for me that was hanging over my house. It was a tricky situation since it was my neighbors tree but they communicated with the neighbor as necessary to convince her they would honor the tree without compromising safety. I also had them remove two flowering pears and grind the stumps. The work was neat and clean and the workers respectful and polite. Great job. read more

They were fast and professional. They came out 1 week after quoting me to just cut down a dead tree. They told me to cut it down would be dangerous and I would have to have climbers. It only took 20 minutes and no climbing at all. The reason for the two stars is they quoted me for this dangerous project and turns out it wasn't. So, be aware they charge $2475.00 an hour. And if you question it they will just tell you how dangerous it was and they assume all the risk. So maybe I'm wrong but two guys in a Prius and a chainsaw will cost you 1650.00 before tax. Also, after I contacted them about what I though was excessive. I was told by Jeff with his reply that some jobs are more profitable than others and I basically am the customer that gets to pay the profits for all the other jobs. read more

I had New Day Arborist come out and trim some really tall hedges in our backyard last month. The crew worked hard and fast and cleaned up all of the mess made by the branches. Our neighbors across the street highly recommended New Day Arborist after they removed 3 really tall large trees from the side of their house. Not only was the staff really nice but they were highly professional and really communicative. I would highly recommend these guys! read more

I am watching the news and seeing all the trees downed by the winds today. I just remembered I never posted a review for New Day Arborist. They removed two trees for me last April. The crew was fast and did a great job. Under $1,200 two remove two large trees including stump grinding. My neighbors were so impressed, they asked who did the work. Needed to remove a very large split trunk tree that was too close to our house. First estimate came in at 9 grand! Then we called New Day Arborist, so GLAD we did, money well spent. Joseph and his crew were fast, efficient, and left the area cleaner than when they started. It was fun watching them do their thing. Can't recommend them enough. Garrett Day was extremely easy to work with and delivered what I wanted in a very timely manner. A couple of other contractors were hesitant about taking down a tree by a property line, Garrett made it look easy. These guys are great, hire them! read more

I have used Andrew's services for years and want to say he and his team and quick, clear, reliable and efficient. Pricing is very reasonable. I have worked with New Day to prune and cut out deadwood on five old growth trees in close proximity to my house twice in the past three years. I was impressed both times and then again most recently when a limb came down during the windstorm in November. Although it was a small job, they came within a day and removed all debris and the left the site clean. I am also impressed with their ability to negotiate issues with neighbors. They are a class act. read more

Jeff Day, within an hour or so immediately responded to my request for quote on cutting & trimming my 21 year old Arborvitaes. He promptly arrived at my property as well that very day to see the trees and see first hand what I was asking to be done with them. He is a Board Certified Master Arborist with a view of what is best for the trees along with insight into what his potential customer is asking for. He quoted an economical reasonable price for the work at hand & when it should be done for what is the most beneficial timing for the Tree in its seasonal growth cycle. His Tree Service Crew performed true perfectionists work on my trees. Florentino headed up the crew & he listened well to what I wanted accomplished & he was very clear with what he could and would do before he did it. He made sure starting with the first tree that I was going to be happy with the outcome. The crew was very caring of my property and finished in about 4 hours time with the 26 mature Emerald Green Arborvitaes that had never experienced a professional cut & trim previously. Garrett Day is the scheduler and Certified Arborist and, per my request, he has set a reoccurring schedule for maintaining the trees into the future. I have had a great experience with their tree service. The Arborvitaes look so great from any angle that you view them from after the finished work. I have heard many complimentary comments on how great these trees look now. read more

I have a very large tree that I really love. However, it had been hit by lighting about 20 years ago, that weaken the tree, then when a windstorm came through the top 25+ ft fell off. I was very concerned and wanted a real Arborist to look at the damage and save the tree, The tree is well over 100 years old. The crew arrived on time and went to work, they had a lot of work to do. They worked really well together and were very concerned about not creating and more damage as the limbs came down, I could see that they took safety very seriously. although it was a lot of work, They had a 3 man crew and worked a full 8 hrs. I felt their price was reasonable. I enjoyed the look afterwards. They cleaned up everything, protected the lawn when they brought the equipment in. I would recommend them again. Their was a lot of dead wood and it was draping on the house, now all the dead wood is gone , it is safe and they brought it up about 10 ft from the roof. The tree looks healthy and safe again. I am a happy camper!! read more

New Day Arborist did a fantastic job for us from start to finish. Jeff Day, certified arborist, came out months ago to do a condition analysis on the three very large trees on a parcel were were considering buying (adjacent to our current land where we live). I asked what tree would he recommend we plant on it. Months afterwards (took a while for the survey), yesterday they delivered a Tulip Tree (3" caliper, 13' feet tall). It looks as good as we hoped -- and then some. The delivery person Carter was very informative and helpful getting it unloaded off their trailer, giving us some great suggestions as to what we should do from there on as we later planted it. In the middle, kudos to Garrett Day, also a certified Arborist, who was our point of contact over the past two months. He's very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and he precisely worked around scheduling issues we had on our end. He was easy and constructive to work with. Great process from start to finish. We recommend New Day Arborist very highly!!! read more
