First of all when you come to the building you have to go up the stair case and you will see a bunch of doors. Dr. Gerlan office is on the left Side suite 4. He has a seating area for the patiences. Dr. Gerlan will ask for your insurance card and glasses if you wear any. Then he will bring you into his office and do the eye exam. And after he will prescribe you new glasses and show you which are covered by your insurance. Dr. Gerlan was very professional and polite. Highly recommend coming here. Only downside is the parking situation but there is a parking lot around the corner so it's not so bad.

I'd been having vision issues in my left eye for a few months and had been wearing readers from a high-end online store that I thought were pretty fashionable. As soon as I walked into Eyes on Hudson, I realized that this was going to be a VERY SPECIAL experience. The shop itself is beautiful. Gorgeous glasses of all types line the shelves as well as accessories you simply do not see anywhere else. Sweet Tina at the front desk whisked me into my first examining room with a thorough question and answer session that prepared me for my best ever (and I'm NOT YOUNG) eye exam with Dr. Rogerson. Thorough does not even begin to describe the process by which she diagnosed my astigmatism in one eye that had gone unnoticed at previous appointments with other doctors! As if that wasn't enough, it was time to select a pair of glasses. Peering at all of the gorgeous options, I asked the very stylish optician Justin for help. From across the room he appears with a stunning pair of Hunter green frames that I would have never selected on my own-- but look PERFECT on me and I'm not a vain person! How did he do that? When I received the glasses and I couldn't see out of them, I found out from a subsequent visit to my orthoptist and another optician that both pair of glasses we made incorrectly and that the prescription in one pair was way off. When I contacted Eyes on Hudson about the issues, my concerns were met with exasperation and an overall unwillingness to work with me. I have since gone to another optician who specializes in difficult prescriptions. Perhaps Eyes on Hudson is very good for general glasses. But I would not recommend the business if one has any special needs.

My problems with Jessica started back in December when I went to pick up my glasses. She came out appearing visibly frazzled, rushed and upset. While handling my glasses in that state and handing them to me, she BROKE them. She then gave me another pair and basically said, "Here, just take these." About a month later, I returned and asked a very reasonable question: What happened to the original glasses that were broken? Instead of simply explaining what happened, Jessica immediately became extremely defensive. Since that incident, I have noticed a complete change in the way she treats me whenever I need assistance. She has been rude, dismissive and unprofessional. Today was the final straw. I requested my contact lens prescription because I wanted to purchase my contacts through Costco. The prescription that was sent to me was incomplete and was missing necessary information, including the diameter and other information needed to fill it. I called the office, explained that information was missing and was told they would send the corrected prescription right away. They didn't. After waiting approximately 30 minutes, I called back because I still had not received it. While I was simply trying to get this resolved, my calls kept getting disconnected. Eventually Jessica got on the phone. Instead of professionally asking how she could help me, she began speaking to me in what I perceived as an extremely sarcastic and mocking manner. She said things like, "What's the matter, Larissa? Are you upset? What's going on?" and told me I was yelling. The way she was speaking to me felt like she was mocking me and making fun of the fact that I was frustrated. I explained that I was in a loud environment and was not intentionally yelling. Rather than simply resolving the issue, she continued with the attitude and then said to me, "DO YOU WANT YOUR PRESCRIPTION OR NOT?" She then HUNG UP ON ME. I could not believe that an employee would speak to a customer that way over something as simple as requesting a complete copy of a prescription. I have also since heard from others that Jessica has a reputation for being rude to customers. I cannot personally speak to anyone else's experience, but based on the way she has repeatedly treated me, hearing that certainly did not surprise me. I genuinely do not understand how an employee can treat customers in such a rude, sarcastic, mocking and dismissive manner and continue to represent a business. This wasn't one bad interaction. My issues with her began when my glasses were broken in December, continued when she became defensive after I asked what happened to them, and culminated today with her mocking me, asking, "Do you want your prescription or not?" and HANGING UP ON ME. Completely unacceptable and incredibly unprofessional. I have contacted Raymond Opticians management directly because I believe they need to know how customers are being treated at their New Rochelle location. I absolutely cannot recommend this location.

While they have showrooms throughout the US, their online ordering system is excellent; here, you're able to choose up to 5 frames for home try-on before making a purchase or conduct a virtual try-on with some of their frames. That's not to discount their showrooms, though - they're beautiful and I enjoy visiting them both for eye exams and just to have a more hands-on experience when choosing frames. Previously, all of Warby's showrooms in NY were in NYC or LI, but last year they opened their first location in Westchester. Since I was due for my annual eye exam, and this location is more convenient for me to get to than the city locations, I decided to visit here for my checkup. The White Plains Warby is located in The Westchester Mall - it's a relatively small showroom they still have a good selection of frames to browse. This location has been a long time coming - they opened in May 2021 and one of the staff members told me they were fully booked for eye exams though November. The layout is clean and bright, with a contemporary aesthetic which is very on-brand for Warby. I had an appointment for 11:45 am, and after a few minutes I was seen. Honestly, this was one of the best eye exams I have ever had. My prescription changed last year and my eyes were having issues adjusting to it, and when I explained my concerns to the optometrist she did an excellent job explaining the science and the whys behind my discomfort and worked with me to adjust my Rx again. I really appreciated her taking the time to explain this - she went above and beyond. After my exam, I was taken care of by Nancy who helped me replace the lenses on two of my pairs with the old Rx. She was great - super friendly and followed through on all aspects of the transaction. Overall, I had an excellent first experience at this Warby Parker. This further confirmed my love of the brand, and since they are so close I will definitely be back for my next pair and eye appointment.

I wanted to check out a pair of frames that had sunglasses lenses in them. I asked the employee if they could pop out the lenses. (Something WP has done for me before) They wouldn't do it. I had done my research before going and knew which frames I wanted to see. There were quite a few they didn't have on display and, when I asked, the employee wouldn't look for them. They just said "we don't have them." I like WP, but will not go back to this location.

I had a 6:00 PM appointment and arrived on time, only to be told there were multiple people ahead of me and that the wait would be about an hour. That completely defeats the purpose of scheduling an appointment. If appointments aren't going to be honored, what's the point of offering them? At the very least, a courtesy call or message to let me know my appointment was running an hour behind would have saved me the trip I wasted my time of driving there and they lost a long time customer.
