She is truly amazing! Got our two dresses done in no time and was so sweet and easy to work with. Would recommend her to anyone!

I have had a number of repairs and alterations done here, all with complete satisfaction. Fici is one of the vanishing generation of old world craftsmen, so I always go to him first.

I brought in 3 shirts for alteration. I've never had shirts altered before, but I was expecting him…read moreto want to take measurements, he did not. Instead he had me try on one of the shirts and told me that it fit perfectly fine, which it did not. I had to insist that he alter them. He agreed, listened to what I wanted altered an pinned the shirt as we went along. I was expecting him to want me to try on each of the shirts but he declined that as well, saying he only needed to see one. I just assumed that, since I'm the inexperienced one, that tailors are more talented than I gave them credit for and that this really was enough for him. Now, maybe my initial assumption was correct and a good tailor needs to be more thorough, or this guy was just particularly bad. I'll find out with my next tailor because I'll certain not be using Fici's again. I brought the shirts in on a Saturday and he told me to come back in 1 week, on the following Saturday. I wasn't able to make it until the following Tuesday, and when I did they were closed, their hours had changed to close an hour earlier. I had a chance to come back again 3 days after that, they were closed again with a sign on the door that said "Doctor's appointment". Four days later (you'll notice it takes me several days to get a chance to go pick up again, so each trip is a waste of hard-found time) I stopped by to pick up and they were closed again with a sign this time saying "out to lunch". I managed to get a chance to try to pick up again the next morning before work at 8am (the time they are supposed to open). Surprise surprise, they weren't yet open. I waited about 10 minutes but that's as far as I could push it before I would miss my train. So, 2 days later I stop by in the morning again and they're FINALLY open. I couldn't believe it, I thought I'd never see my clothes. I come to find out, they only accept cash or check. Well, I rarely carry cash, as I mentioned above, coming by early means cutting it close with my train so I didn't have time to go to an ATM. I got cash that night, went back first thing the next morning, miraculously they were open again, I get my clothes, pay the man and bid them adieu. I'd already made up my mind that no matter how good the work was, I was never going there again. Six times I had to go there before I could get my clothes. All that being said, the shirts ended up being 3 distinct different sizes. The one he had me try on ended up still being too big, another one was actually the perfect size and the third one was too tight. I also had him cuff a pair of pants which were fine. Furthermore, the shirt that was actually well sized, a stitch came loose after my first time wearing it and it unraveled 3 inches of seam. One of the worst experiences I've ever had with a business in my life.

I came here to have my wedding dress altered from the recommendation list I got from Grace Loves…read moreLace where I bought my gown (Goldie). The seamstress emailed me back quickly with a quote and we set up an appointment. She scheduled me to pickup the dress the week of the wedding saying that it's 'one and done' rather than having multiple fittings. She reassured me that she has worked with this exact dress and offered some alterations I wouldn't have thought of. She told me at the initial appointment that she would add some snaps in the train which I had understood as being to help it drape well when bustled at the halter neck but it turned out to be a more traditional bustle, I do wish she had shown me an example of what it would look like because I was not a big fan of the look. I ended up tying the train to the halter neck anyway for the reception. One of the snap buttons on the bustle broke off during the wedding so I couldn't have used it anyway. She did a great job of fitting the dress to me overall, although the strap across the back ended up being too tight. I emailed her in a panic the day after I brought it home and she was able to adjust it same day along with an adjustment at the neck as well. The final cost ended up being $100 over the high end of her estimate (which was $100-300) which I was not thrilled with seeing I did not ask for anything beyond what she recommended (cost was prior to adjustments made next day) and she has worked with the dress before so presumably knew what she was getting into. Overall I did like the final fit but the experience and pricing could have been better.

After having heard high recommendations from a family friend I took my wedding dress into Michaels…read moreto be altered. I think Michael is probably a very good tailor, and my wedding dress was probably too intricate and difficult of a job for him to do. Instead of saying no to me, he charged me an arm and a leg for work I had to take to another location to be fixed. When I went to pick up my dress, it was not done, despite having been told it was finished and ready for pick up. I needed the dress to be shortened, the sleeves pulled up, a bustle added and applique added to the neckline. When I got there only the length and sleeves had been shortened. I wanted part of the neckline covered, ideally using applique or lace left over from shortening the dress. Instead Michael took a scrap of white, men's shirt material off the floor, folded it into a triangle, and hand-stitched it in, it looked awful and not at all what I had asked for when I facetimed my mom in a panic, he pulled a piece of lace from the floor and stitched that in. Not entirely satisfied but not seeing any alternative to the work he had done, I let him work on the bustle. He did a one-point French bustle, while I waited 45 minutes for him to complete it. He rushed and by the time he was done didn't let me try it on and test the bustle he had just put in. When I got home and put on the dress, in daylight the piece of lace he had put in the front was entirely the wrong color and looked terrible, and the bustle still had most of the dress laying on the ground. Not trusting Michael to fix these mistakes I ended up having to go to a different alterations place, where they added applique appropriately and added TWO more places to correctly bustle the dress. While I would like to give Michael the benefit of the doubt, I wish he had told me my dress was too much for him to alter and sent me on my way. I'm sure Michael is very talented at what he does, but this was not a good experience.
