Giving New China a 4/5 only due to ambiance, it was incredibly packed & I personally feel they were slightly understaffed -- in today's world that is actually a great high-class problem to have but it wasn't the most ideal of experiences. Other than that, the restaurant itself was incredibly clean small space honestly it's more of a take-out restaurant type of vibe. The actual food quality is great, and the value for the portions for price is even better. I went with the traditional general tso, Iknow that's not actual real Chinese food, but it's delicious & a great litmus test as to how everything else on the menu should generally taste -- was great & the portion was pretty even between that & the fried rice so it was filling nonetheless. All in all, this is a great local chinese spot if you're looking for the the well known standard chinese food craving this is your go-to!! read more

Drove by, and decided to drop in to the New China Chinese, so I gave it a try. It's a small restaurant with a very bare seating area...best for takeout or delivery. The decor needs an update, but it is ok. The staff was friendly, took my order--for takeout service--and it was done fairly quickly. I got the sesame chicken w/pork fried rice combo; got home and dug in. The portion sizes were generous, and the price were reasonable. While the food was good, not the best Chinese I've had...however better than most in this area...I'll be back to try some of their other options. read more

My favorite Chinese take out in the area. I never check my order and it's always correct! What do you say about Chinese take out beyond that? Alright, seriously it's a great spot. Good portions and taste is spot on. If you are passing through, there are tables you can sit at and take a break from the road for a few. The workers are friendly. I park across the street in the old police parking lot. It says it's for emergency vehicles but the police department has moved so go crazy and feel like you are breaking the rules. read more

After tying ten or more Chinese places in the Chester, Flanders, Roxbury area over the last 15-20 years, this is my regular place now. The food tastes good and we haven't had any bad experiences yet. Good portions, good egg rolls. The people aren't overly friendly (I usually drop $50-$70 every Thursday but they do offer free items with coupons on the front of the take out menu which you must mention when placing your order. I've had general tso's chicken, hunan chicken, garlic sauce dishes. All were good. I wish they made their fried rice the dark brown style but theirs is a yellowish style but still good. Boneless ribs are good too. Soups are okay. They never get my order wrong either. read more

Pretty good Chinese take out compare to a lot of other places. We ordered a bunch of items and remember their satay beef and their chicken with mushroom were especially good. Everything else were fresh and delicious as well. They have some coupon deals on their menu that you can get like a free spring/egg roll, soup or soda if you order a certain amount of money. But be sure to mention the coupon when you order. We didn't mention the coupon but thought it was OK since my parents are a regular here but no. I have eaten here a lot but today I got the sweet and sour soup and it is tasteless and and thick.. Unusually thick. When I called them and told them that it was unusually thick and gel-like the response was, "That's how it's supposed to be." Absolutely terrible customer service! They were so rude on the phone to begin from the beginning. I placed my order for pick up, once I got there I paid for my very pricey order and took it home. Once I got it home I unpacked everything and immediately realized a few things were missing. I called to address the issue and the lady on the phone insisted I never ordered the things that were missing. I know FOR SURE I ordered them because the man repeated my order back to me when I placed the order. They stayed on the phone and argued with me for over 15 minutes until I gave up and took the loss on the food I ordered and paid for. Since I am allergic to Sesame I initially called them first to inquire if they cooked with Sesame Oil, I was told NO we only cook with vegetable oil. Their website also states " We Use Only Cholesterol Free Oil For Cooking" SO I THOUGHT I WAS SAFE. After looking at the menu I called them back to place my order, I ordered the chicken chow mein combination dinner, I AGAIN ASKED if this combo contained any SESAME, again I was told NO, SO AGAIN I THOUGHT I WAS SAFE....In less than 2 hours I was in the EMERGENCY ROOM WITH AN IV IN ME DUE TO AN ALLERGIC REACTION !!!. I've eaten here a few times, and it's usually unimpressive. The last time, the General Tso's was a big clump of chicken mess. It looked like they took frozen chicken out that's been sitting for years and just threw it in a wok and served it without unclumping it. The Shrimp w/ Broccoli was foul as well. Regular at this place. Fast and cheap. Decent food. Good take our drink selection. I like the beef and brocoli personally, but have tried much of their menu and have never found a dish they made uneatable. Family run joint but they have a few extra helpers during the evening rush. we moved to Mt. Arlington just 2 months ago. we've tried many different Chinese take out restaurants. when it comes to taste and the diversity of different dishes, tofu, veggies, etc. this is the best tasting so far, not salty like Yummy Chinese on Rt 46. However, the last time I ordered, I found a small piece of hard plastic something on one of the dishes. that is a deal breaker for me and that's the reason for the 2-star review. read more

My boyfriend and I always got our Chinese food from here which I always thought was amazing. But about a week ago, we ordered to go and he got the chicken and broccoli while he asked for a spring roll and mixed veggies for me (since I'm vegetarian). When we got home, they gave me a shrimp egg roll! Very upset about that!!!! Even though I did call back and complain, they did tell me to come back and they'll give me the correct item but I highly doubt we'll ever go back. read more

I have been going here since we moved to the area 12 yrs ago. When we 1st started the food was good and consistent. Since the sale to new owners I can no longer say that. They consistently screw up my order, the food is not nearly as good. Sauces tend to be watery and "eh" at best and forget about the Pad Thai. Being a trained "chef" I know what is what...and today after not going there for sometime decided to give them a tumble. Without fail the consistency of lack of consistency was spot on. I was told one total for my order and once I arrived the order jumped 12$ because someone did not add in one item...fine I would gladly pay for my order, but at least have the "brains and customer service" to let me know. You have my phone number. Drop the attitude when I call you on it...the restaurant business is all about quality food, value for price paid and customer service. Guess I will be traveling to a new place as the few others local establishments here have folded. Too bad. Sad when your ok because there is no competition and the others suck worse. read more
