Sesame Chicken with Pork Fried Rice and Egg roll
    Spencer V.

I was in a strong mood for chinese food and this restaurant was on my list to try out so I decided why not. Oh my gosh the Sesame Chicken with Pork Fried Rice and Egg roll that I purchased for luncj was absolutely amazing and delicious. It's not every day I find such great chinese food like that so that day was definitely a treat. Highly recommend New China. It's not that hard to find. It's right next to Publix. :)

    Cant beat these prices!

Pretty good Chinese food always fast and hot. Variety is strong would love scallion pancake or walnut shrimp even if it was a special.

I stayed in my car until order was ready. The dining room is basic and loud but I could see people were receiving good care. They boast a high 100 health score and it was very tidy. The food was presented nice for take out but I thought the chicken was tough and the sweet and sour sauce was just not typical. The fried rice was bland. $32 for two dinners. No eggroll or drinks that is additional.

But I found this little spot in a shopping center on the outskirts and they're doing some stuff right. I was drawn in by a wallet-friendly lunch special menu, which yielded a decent variety of vegetable and tofu-based options. My tofu with hot peppers was a very credible Hunan-style dish as the place's name would suggest, with dried hot peppers and a lively black bean sauce. The option for brown or fried rice was no extra charge, or if you did want to pay more you could get lo mein instead. I added a spring roll, which compared to my main dish was a bit overpriced but was tasty and, as with the other dishes around me, nicely plated. Their menu suggests a Malaysian influence as well, and I'd be happy to return for dinner to try something different.

It's in a quiet neighborhood bordering a pretty bougie living community so I shouldn't have been surprised at the blandness but I was. I got chicken fried rice I think and it was truly so bland and there were no offered flavor enhancers like soy sauce. It was ok but absolutely not worth the cost. The service was very friendly and the overall restaurant vibes were unoffensive to the point that they barely had any decorations up. Just a bland atmosphere overall. I wish I could've liked it but it was disappointing. I can make better Asian fusion in my home kitchen and save a lot of money next time.

The menu promises the ability to make most menu items vegetarian or vegan with tofu. I opted for a tofu kebab dish which isn't commonly offered. Grilling is a delicious way of preparing tofu, and theirs was marinated in something that was tasty and salty. Like most of their menu options, this came over garlic sautéed green beans, which is fine by me, with a small portion of rice (the option was given to just do green beans if you don't want the carbs). My appetizer was some cabbage-heavy spring rolls, which I'm fine with as it brings balance to the meal, which came with some very powerful sweet chili and mustard sauces. There aren't a ton of places to go in South Carolina for Chinese food, let alone vegetarian friendly. Even on a Monday, this place was doing solid takeout business with the occasional person eating in, and I would certainly recommend it over most plausible alternatives.

Fresh new paint on wall, just wished they had changed the color away from the aqua blue. Change in menu is coming. I requested they bring in FRESH rice noodles and advertise Chow Fun Noodle specials! I hope they try it!!! Ordered Singapore Noodles tonight. Nice and properly spicy with the right ingredients. Just wish the noodles were more dry and not slightly overcooked albeit. Not mushy. From the moment we pulled up, the exterior set the tone -- very clean and inviting. Even with the Friday night rush, the hostess was warm and welcoming and got us seated quickly and efficiently, which we really appreciated. Our waitress was outstanding. She was attentive without being overbearing, checked on us consistently, and helped guide us through the menu with great recommendations. We started with the lobster spring rolls and a salmon roll. The spring rolls were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with large chunks of lobster -- not skimpy at all. The salmon roll was some of the freshest sushi I've had in a long time. For my entrée, I ordered the walnut shrimp. The shrimp were gigantic, perfectly cooked, and the sauce was so good I literally slapped the table. No shame. We will absolutely be back. If you're looking for great Asian fusion with excellent service and fresh ingredients, Antai delivers.
