Stopped in for lunch and found the restaurant to be very busy. Parking is located at the rear of the restaurant although crossing to get into it was a little difficult. We entered and were greeted and seated immediately. Only saw booths available in the restaurant. Our server was at the table as soon as we sat down and took our drink order. The menu is huge, just like it should be with a diner. Choices from breakfast, burgers, and entrees. We settled on ordering breakfast. We ordered the western omelet with English muffin, the Irish Benedict, side of bacon, and corn muffin. The food arrived quickly and looked very good. The western omelet, very large, was cooked perfectly and had plenty of peppers and onions. English were grilled and came with two packets of butter. The Benedict was a large portion of hash with perfectly cooked eggs on top the way they should be so that when you cut into them the yolk ran abundantly over the hash. It all tasted very good. The Hollandaise sauce was very good and plentiful. The side of bacon was large, about 6 or 7, slices cooked nice and crispy. The corn muffin was pretty much run of the mill, nicely grilled, and two packets of butter came with it. Both the omelette and Benedict came with home fries which were good but could have been fried a lot more to add some crispiness to them. Overall the meal was great. The service was excellent, and the booths very spacious. There will be a return trip the next time we are in the area so we could try other items from the menu.

Was in the area and, spur of the moment, decided to stop in for breakfast. Always interested in trying places I've never been to before, and there was a decent amount of cars in the lot. I asked my server, Pat, if the corned beef hash was homemade, or from a can, and she indicated can. Normally, this is a dealbreaker for me ordering anything with corned beef hash. But, I hadn't had eggs Benedict in a month or so of Sundays, and decided to give it a whirl....so, "Irish Benny" it was. Remind me to keep to my dealbreakers. The CBH was extremely salty to the point where that overwhelmed everything else. Eggs were very runny. On the flip side, the HFs were kind of bland, not very spiced at all. Coffee was excellent, as was the service (best part of the experience). Overall, underwhelmed.

NBD has really grown on me. I have always enjoyed their Kielbasa Omelet or the Belgium Waffle with Strawberries. This time I was looking for more protein packed breakfast so I got the Loaded Grilled Chicken Fajita Omelet with mushroom, onions, red and green peppers and home fries, toast if you want. The Double CheeseBurger with fries was huge. Always really good portions and quick service with not more than a 10-15 minute wait from the time you order. Saturday and Sunday mornings are usually very busy.

I randomly came here with my family for a quick bite to eat. It was okay. I ordered boneless chicken, French fries and a side of bacon. Our server was really nice.

When I came here for brunch, I was expecting them to great me with a g'day governor or oy mate, (hence new Britain) but I received the opposite. My friend got avocado toast that looked more like deconstructed guacamole if anything. My food was more bland than a spoon of cornstarch. And the strawberries on my friends crepes were as old and fake as dolly parton. Waiter was cute though! This place is the definition of MID. Not coming back.

Good, service, atmosphere, and overall. Excellent. Some people complain about "overpriced" but come on! Is a dinner, not a McDonald's; plus the menu is listed as American traditional with Italian, Greek and Jewish options. First time on this place and definitely I'll come back again.

The Sunny Side dish pictured usually comes with hollandaise sauce but I don't care for it so requested it not be added. My husband had a Meat Lover's omelette but started eating before I could snap a picture. He said it was very good. My daughter had the Californian subbing crispy tots for the sweet potatoes. One of her favorite dishes here. Love this place and will definitely return!

The aioli was delicious and went well with the tots. The sunny side comes with a hollandaise so I figured poached eggs would go best. The eggs were perfectly runny. My two complaints: I could have used a bit more hash browns under the eggs. I asked for a side of toast because there weren't enough potatoes to soak up the yolk with. The hollandaise has good flavor but arrives a bit watery and foamy. It also seems like they serve unsalted whipped butter? I could be wrong but my buttered toast was bland. Overall, I will definitely come again. The coffee was good, there are other dishes I want to try, and our server, Meikhi was so nice and attentive. He's very personable and matched the energy of each of his tables.

Having time to kill, and finding myself dismayed at the number of breakfast spots closed on Monday,…read moreI found myself at a place I've long considered trying: the Makris Diner. I arrived just after 7:00 AM, finding only a few other customers. Taking my seat at the counter, and noticing the "best of 2025" certificate, coffee was immediately served; and, my order was promptly taken. My choice was the big breakfast two, which would prove to be well named. Well within ten minutes, I was served three eggs, properly prepared, over easy, four very mild, frankly nearly tasteless, breakfast sausage links, a good portion of browned, but as far as I could tell, unseasoned, hashbrowns that were on the dry side (yes, ketchup was required) and finally, two slices of thick French toast, generously splattered with powdered sugar (quite tasty, I must say). In short, this meal read like a stock chart on a volatile day; peaks and valleys. The cup of coffee was acceptable, doing nothing to add or detract from the meal. At just over, twenty two bucks, before tip, the portion couldn't be faulted; but, the quality could have been better. The Makris has been there as long as I can remember; but in all my life, this is only my second visit. The first was a late night stop for a cup of coffee way back when teenagers actually ventured outside to engage in social activities; and, today, it looked much as it did back then. It was clean, comforatable and very much appealing to my sense of nostalgia. So too, I believe, that could be said of the other patrons, all of whom I expected to refer to my 58 year old self as "kid" if the need to speak to me had arisen.

I really enjoyed the quick service, freshness and flavor I experienced. But the downfall was absolutely no hot water in the rest rooms. Not a drop. I am freezing now. There was no intercom music, or maybe the volume was very soft - I heard it occasionally.
