We are so glad we were told about this spot from another bar in town. Known as the oldest Gay bar in town, this place still serves up a great drink and plays some good music. We stopped by the back bar on a Saturday, they had a theme party with a $10 cover charge, the old sourpuss collecting the money sure needed some sugar. He sure wasn't getting any sugar for quite some time it seems, but he managed to still be there and like a good old watch dog,and kept an eye out for anyone trying get in without paying. It does not expire until 2031. When I handed my license to the bartender he stares at it for a while and says that it is no good. And then my partner shines his light on it and explains that it shows my birthday, it's one of the ID's that have the star on it to confirm it as a "Real ID" in North Carolina. And that I am exactly 21 years of age. But even though we explained it the bartender said "I don't know, I don't know if we can accept vertical IDs". After that me and my partner went to our car to look up the validity of that statement and we found that as long as the ID isn't 1. Expired, 2. Illegitimate or 3. Underaged persons. That they can still accept it. After all of that we went to the bar across the street and they accepted my id.

In spite of this, 10 minutes after being seated, a separate employee came out and simply said "do yall have leashes?" 1- of course we do, you saw us walk them in. 2- no greeting or "hey, I'm blah blah"... cold & impersonal. 3- why bother with the cost of a gated enclosure if pets have to be leashed anyway? We've been to many pet-friendly restaurants. You are NOT pet-friendly. You happily took our money for the meal, and added a 20% gratuity yourselves (which was not earned btw), but you barely did enough to accommodate our pups, let alone be considered "friendly". Naturally I bought a ticket weeks in advance and got out my "Janet" costume. Rocky Horror is my not so secret secret love and I've been to dozens and dozens of performances throughout the southeast and in the UK. A girlfriend joined me and we met up at Capone's. The bar itself was really beautiful. A wall of booths lined the left and the substantial bar was parallel. The bouncers checked us in online and we got our wristbands with no issue. Drinks were up first and as I had a 30 minute drive back to Kingsport, I limited myself to one, but it was really good! Top shelf gin and soda with extra lime (to cover up the gin flavor - haha!) We moved beyond the bar into the second lower level space which was a mini/performance venue. The kind I frequented in high school and college (before kids, really...) and we staked out a place at the front so we could see the whole thing. Partially because I freaking love Rocky Horror and partially because my girlfriend is super petite and wouldn't be able to see over anyone's head if we didn't. I was delighted that there was an opening band. Having no idea what to expect I thought it was a bonus. However the bigger surprise was that the opening band was part of the Rocky cast! It ended up being a fantastic musical rendering of the movie and musicals I have seen before, complete with costumes and a word for word script recitation along with all musical numbers. We were blown away. I wish I could have gone back again for a chill evening at the bar, but I give it my full approval. The drinks were good, the aesthetic is really sumptuous and pretty, the restrooms were clean and the show was super fun!!! I'll make it back next time I'm in Kingsport or JC.

I didn't get to check it out, but there's also a downstairs lounge with a full liquor bar where you can also view the show. I appreciate the security when you walk in, metal detectors and staff members who very politely made sure everyone was safe. Scanning our tickets and entering was a breeze. Bartenders were very friendly and welcoming! We were standing at the barricade, so we chatted with the security guards and they were some of the nicest workers I've met at a show! They had lots of water bottles on hand to pass out to anyone who needed it, which is always great to see. The bands sounded great and we had an awesome time. We're already looking forward to the next show we can catch here!
