We are so glad we were told about this spot from another bar in town. Known as the oldest Gay bar in town, this place still serves up a great drink and plays some good music. We stopped by the back bar on a Saturday, they had a theme party with a $10 cover charge, the old sourpuss collecting the money sure needed some sugar. He sure wasn't getting any sugar for quite some time it seems, but he managed to still be there and like a good old watch dog,and kept an eye out for anyone trying get in without paying. And then my partner shines his light on it and explains that it shows my birthday, it's one of the ID's that have the star on it to confirm it as a "Real ID" in North Carolina. And that I am exactly 21 years of age. But even though we explained it the bartender said "I don't know, I don't know if we can accept vertical IDs". After that me and my partner went to our car to look up the validity of that statement and we found that as long as the ID isn't 1. Expired, 2. Illegitimate or 3. Underaged persons. That they can still accept it. After all of that we went to the bar across the street and they accepted my id.

I was telling a friend that I'd always wanted to attend a drag show, and she recommended this place. We decided to check it out, and it was such a fun experience. The show was high-energy and entertaining, with performers in elegant gowns, lip-sync performances, and lots of audience interaction. What I enjoyed most was the atmosphere. Everyone was welcome, and nobody seemed to be judged or excluded. It was an inclusive, accepting environment where people could just be themselves and have a good time. Overall, it was a fun night, and I'm glad I finally got to experience a drag show.

It is very nicely decorated, lots of blue LEDs, lasers and some nice artsy backlit paintings of the great Latin music artists. The club is divided into 2 sides, the larger has the DJ, low tables in the center and high tables around the edges. There is a nice-sized dance floor that salsa dancers will appreciate, bit it gets pretty tight as the place fills up. The other side has comfortable chairs, but the music is kind of loud for chatting. On Saturdays, they try to reserve the low tables for bottle service. In fact, if you aren't drinking enough, they'll ask you to move. We think that is VERY RUDE. The bartenders are best at bottle service but mixed drinks are inconsistent and expensive. ($18 for 2 margaritas and a bottled water.) That's in addition to a $5 cover. (More for special events.) Saturday nights are always busy, getting packed around 11pm. Tables and room on the dancefloor become scarce. Friday nights are more relaxed. Generally, there is no cover and more space to enjoy the evening. They have a nice arrangement with Don Vicente, the Colombian restaurant next door. Order your meal at Don Vicente and they will deliver to our table at Vibe. We highly recommend the grilled chicken skewers.
