Their shoes are horrible. I have bought 2 pair of the 1549 v3 and they both have holes in the toes now. When the first pair started forming a hole I just thought maybe just a dude pair. But then the second pair is doing the same thing and not even 3 months old. They have also lost their comfort. My feet hurt soo bad now it hard to walk. And customer service says I can only get a partial credit. They don't even stand behind their products. My advice don't buy their shoes. If you do, Buy with caution!!! read more

This is my first-time shopping for New Balance shoes in my life. I want to praise the staff provided Excellent customer service during Covid-19 challenging time. I have exhausted my online shopping options for shoes. I just can't get right feel when shoes arrived. I think it's time to replace my fashion statement with Skechers shoes. I found New Balance from an incidental ad on Google. Back in my college days, I was little skeptical about New Balance shoes because the models were in numbers. Some of them still do till this day. During my search I found this store carried cushion shoes called Fresh Foam. This model Roav Backpack is particularly cheaper than others in the series. So, I had to check it out in person. Employees were super friendly and know their stuff. Much better than other shoe stores (I don't want to mention names). I felt good try the fitting here. I will definitely come back to do a real shopping during holidays. read more

I LOVE my new balance tennis shoes. I wear them every day to work. I used to go to the old location of this store and sometimes was successful in getting my shoes and other times not. I've had very hit or miss service. Sometimes it's been great and other times it's been very mediocre at best. The new location has significantly less parking than the old location but looks so much prettier. I'd prefer more parking. I went in there recently but they didn't have my shoes. Ok, so they showed me some more shoes that might be similar. They didn't have those in my size. It seemed like they were really low in stock. The customer service seemed ok, but they didn't offer to call any other stores etc... as I would expect since I was a definite sale. I'll continue to love and wear my New Balance tennis shoes, but I might start ordering online. read more

The store is nice and clean. The employees were nice and helpful except one named Jeff, who seemed to be old and grumpy. He seemed rushed and bothered i kept asking to get a different size to try on. Also gave me vibes that he didn't really wanted to help me out maybe because im young and hispanic. He didn't really made my experience at this store pleasant and comfortable reason i just wanted to leave the store. JT helped me out. Set up my feet, after a bad bilateral sprain. His knowledge and promptness of service helped speed my trip and returned comfort to my peds. Value added he got my the RIGHT laces AND laced them up for the best support. Grateful. (The last sales guy when I purchased shoes in this local didn't go the extra mile) So what I'm saying is, do stop in. Yes, the location is hard to turn in from a busy road, but oh so worth a stop in. Called two days ahead the time and talked with a wonderful gentleman, Miguel! He was very helpful on the phone! Unfortunately, when my husband and I showed up on Thursday at 10:30 am, Miguel was not available. No other customers around but two of us. Two salesperson are available. Since I press time for a meeting, I requested the other salesman to help my husband while the lady fitted my shoes. He refused bluntly stating their "policy"was one sales person helps one couple! Called in looking for some old man shoes, and spoke with Ayana. She was very patient, helpful (over the phone), answered all my questions, and gave me options as well. She didn't say "just come by so we can figure it out" as I would do. I've always enjoyed wearing New Balance shoes, so I visited this store to buy a new pair. I tried a pair that I liked and bought it, but after wearing them for a day, I started getting some heel pain. I went to exchange it for a different pair, but they were out of stock of the size I needed. So they politely gave me a refund without giving me a hard time or questioning me. I have recommended this store numerous times to families with children getting AFOs. Today I called ahead to confirm they would have the 680 Extra Wide in my daughter's size before driving up. I was informed they no longer carry the 680s in store! This was the only store I know of that carries kids New Balance shoes! The store that sells my favorite brand of tennis shoes (running shoes, whatever) has moved into the new location. I think I like the set up of the new one. Stained concrete. The trying-on-tennis shoes areas are a little better arranged. They're slightly more logical. I didn't have to hear the lady in the cove next to me discuss her callouses and hangnails, and she didn't have to hear about my shin splints. The thing that really perplexes me is the customer service. It's when logical and no-nonsense, take a illogically indifferent right turn. The sales clerk found a pair of shoes for me in less than twenty minutes. This is after watching my feet (closely) as I walked, and listening to my list of what I need and don't need in a tennis shoe. Illogically indifferent? I'm not a talker, so when I feel that a sales clerk doesn't listen to my musings, he is indifferent. I look at a trip to the tennis shoe store as a preventative doctor's office visit. Here's where I choose the shoe that my feet are happy with, that will provide the proper support, but will also not squeeze my feet to death. (Shin splints are awful.) After my new shoes were found, we headed to the register. He offhandedly requested that I consider purchasing some socks. I declined, and we continued to the register. I've been to this shop twice. Once when it was in the future home of WholeFoods, and now in it's new locale. Both times, odd and illogically indifferent customer service. There's also a weird "push this design of shoe vibe." I would expect that a New Balance store would carry a varied selection of what is offered online. They don't. In fact, on my first visit, they had to special order a pair of shoes. Although the first guy didn't actually roll his eyes, his attitude changed a bit in that direction. read more

I had to special order a pair of NB minimus shoes in North Caroline while on vacation to be shipped to my home here in Houston since they didn't have my size. Upon receiving them, they didn't fit comfortably enough for me to use them as an exercise shoe (which was my purpose). I took them into this store (complete with the receipt of purchase from the location in NC within 30 days of purchase) and was immediately told that I could not return them since I did not purchase them at this location. I'm amazed that in this day and age you cannot purchase a New Balance pair of shoes at one location and return to another. Now I am stuck with the shipping cost of sending them back to NC for my friend (whom I was visiting) to return for me. At over $100 for the pair I cannot just let them go unworn. I'll never shop at a New Balance store again. read more

I have been trying to buy a new pair of shoes for almost 8 months now. The New Balance outlet near me no longer carries my size and I have been procrastinating coming into town. The store is located in a rather small and hard to see shopping center. The sign is almost impossible to see from the street and at night when I went there I thought it was closed becuase the lights looked dim from a distance. I tried on 4 different styles of shoe they had in my size. The didn't have one of them I wanted to try. I ended up buying a more expensive pair than I was planning on becuase they didn't have the cheaper version I was looking for. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful in presenting me with options that fit what I was looking for. She didn't know it all but she knew much more than staff at other stores I have been to. I know my feet and I was able to tell her what I was looking for. I am not sure if she had the knowledge to tell me what I needed though. I got the sense that she didn't. Overall it was a decent experience. At least I can start going to the gym again without getting blisters! read more

The service that this location provides does not live up to the New Balance brand. As a customer, I find it entirely inappropriate to scold me on the finances of a shoe store and a franchise due to a miscommunication of a corporate promotion. I simply assumed that a cyber monday deal would be honored due to the fact that all Black Friday promotions were honored. What I received was a petty lesson in store economics and the bold statement that "We have to start generating full price sales again". This was only to be bettered by "You are really trying to take advantage of a small business". I would challenge this manager to remember that sales occur year round and now you have lost a 10+ year customer that will never purchase shoes from you again. The sad part is that the same shoes can be purchased from any big box retailer for cheaper, yet I have always gone into the stores for the customized service. Houston New Balance is not a business that prides itself on repeat customers, or at the very least the Manager from 11/27/17 didn't get the memo. Great place for for New Balance lovers! The staff deserves 5 stars for being attentive and knowledgeable. They knew exactly which models would be good for your foot, and if you don't know, they have a computer system to read exactly how you walk/run and tell you what you need. They have a decent selection of stuff, but I took a star off because they didn't have a wide selection of clothing styles and shoe sizes. This is more on NB's management. So, if you have a speciality size (like my husbands 4E shoe), then maybe call ahead if you're looking for something in particular. Otherwise, the staff there will take care of you! read more

This was by far the best experience Ive had in a shoe store. All the staff was nice and attentive - surprising considering when I walked in there was a ton of stuff going on everywhere. Addressing a few concerns - the location wasn't hard to find for me during the day. The staff that I came in contact with was highly knowledgeable and didn't look at me like I was stupid for asking some of the questions I did. He took his time to help find the right shoe (I feel as if I went through 50 of them) and in the end we found something. The best part is that nothing seemed like a "sales" approach. Ive worked in sales before for several years...and can often tell the difference between an act and a genuine approach - this was definitely the later of the two. I highly recommend this store to someone who is looking to find the right shoe and may not have that much knowledge in what shoe is best for them. I was pretty nervous just even walking in there because I'm not the image of fitness - but I'm working on it - from the very beginning of being assisted that fear melted away. Very low inventory. Seems having to place special orders is the norm here. Highly unlikely you'll be able to walk out with the shoe you want the same day. The have a fairly good selection on DISPLAY but not in the stockroom. Went in the store on Tue, didn't have my size, ordered it. They said it would be in the following Tue or Wed. I called Wed, shoes not in yet. They told me the order wasn't placed until Monday! They waited a week after I came in and ordered the shoes to place the order! Customer service here ranges from good to rude depending upon who you get that day. Oh and returns are not a customer friendly experience. I tried the shoes on at home. They cut into my ankles and hurt so bad I had to return them. Walked in with the shoes in hand. The guy (manager?) looked at me, no smile, no hello. I told him why I needed to return them. He brushed me off saying, "Sit down over there, we're really busy right now." read more

I have plantar fasciitis, so finding a good pair of shoes has been nearly impossible. I've spent so much money on shoes and have not found a pair that work for me. After another unsuccessful trip to Academy, my husband found this NB store. We paid a visit and I left with exactly the pair of shoes I was looking for and needed. Ben, the store manager, assisted me with some very intelligent recommendations. He seemed very well informed about plantar fasciitis and what kind of shoes can best help support my heel and arch to relieve the pain that this condition causes. We tried three pairs in two sizes, and picked the second. His comparisons between the shoes as we tried them on were spot-on, and help guide me to the best choice. I'm glad I did not settle for the shoe I saw at Academy, glad my husband found this store for me, and glad I got my shoes at NB store on Post Oak. Excellent customer service! read more
