Top of the list: the egg rolls! We're not usually fans of buffets, but here in Big D, this is the only Asian game in town, so to speak. Food is hot and fresh, never having sat too long under the buffet lights. They have sushi, but that's not my thing so I cannot speak to it, though I see plenty of people over there. Been here several times in the past but returned Friday night expecting the same good food but was very disappointed the food was cold the egg rolls smelled like rotten meat had to wait for food to come out and then was disappointed it was once one of our favorite places to eat but we will not be going back. This place is pretty darn good for a buffet. The food and selection of food is excellent. Docked one star only for the layout inside. We sat at a table that ended up having a whole table moved right beside us that had screaming kids. My family and I live this place. The food is delicious. They offer different chicken and fish dishes , shrimp, beef and sushi. They have just the right amounts of dishes to choose from. They taste great! I am not usually a fan of Chinese buffets and I prefer takeout made fresh but this buffet is really good. My husband loves their fried dumplings and fried shrimp and chicken. Tonight they were fresh and hot. The sushi was well stocked when we arrived at 7:20 on a a Saturday evening. The service is courteous and fast and the price is awesome! They have plenty of seating and spread everyone out well. They were busy but we did not feel neglected at all. Great Chinese buffet! My favorite is the sushi and the fried fish and shrimp! I happened to be lucky enough to be driving through DeRidder around lunchtime and came across this Asian buffet. I checked the Yelp reviews and they were all good so I gave it a try. I'm glad I did! Great selection, all the dishes were fresh and hot. What I think worked best is they had smaller but better selection of sushi and entrees than what you normally see in an Asian buffet where there are many, many dishes that are ALL mediocre. My barometer for Chinese food is always the hot and sour soup and potstickers/dumplings. Both were great. All the food was very fresh and our server was very attentive with clearing plates and drink refills. The Mongolian beef was good and my husband really enjoyed the pepper beef too. This place deserves negative stars and as many health code violations as are on the books. Just don't waste your time or money. I fully expect to need a bucket any minute now due to food poisoning. Everything was cold. The cheese wontons were curdled. I didn't dare try the sushi but can tell you the spicy mayo on top was turning clear from sitting there so long. Had the hot and sour soup - was honestly not impressed with it, not very well spiced and not what I'm used too. Also had the chicken lo mein. The noodles dripped of oil which for me is a no go. We've been here a few times. It was good until the last trip we made there. I noticed that the food wasn't as good as before. Everything was a bit more soggy. Waitress got us the wrong drink. Before I could even finish my first plate, the waitress was handing us the check. When I told her we just got there, she was rude and told us to go get more food. This wouldn't have been a big deal, until I noticed that all of the white people sitting around us didn't get their check that early.
