The front-of-house staff were friendly and welcoming. We were seated in the back wing during a busy lunch crowd, which didn't bother us at all. The issue was that after our drinks arrived, our server seemed to disappear. As the crowd thinned, we found ourselves waiting for refills and attention. The buffet has all the classics--beef tips, chicken pot pie, fried catfish, chicken-fried pork loin, baked chicken, vegetables, and plenty of sides. It's filling and abundant, but it's a true country buffet experience: hearty, salty, and rich rather than refined. Cedar Tree clearly has a loyal following, and the full dining room shows that many folks enjoy what they offer. A little more consistency in service would make the experience even better.

That said, the entryway didn't look too inviting and appears to be a relic of a bygone era when this hotel was a classier place. However, upon entry, I did get a very welcoming greeting and was promptly seated. The server was cheerful and took my drink order and welcomed me to help myself to the buffet. The dining room appeared to be jaded, but there was a TV which was showing the New Orleans Saints football game when I was there. The buffet itself was a little bit on the smaller side, with two hot food bars and one cold one. However, there was also a stir-fry station and sushi. The food appeared to be fresh, but were the basic offerings from a typical Asian buffet. There were crab legs but they did not look very appetizing. However, the frog legs and the chicken wings were fresh out of the deep fryer when I was there, and were probably the best items on the buffet. Staff regularly tended to the buffet to ensure that it stayed fresh and my server made sure my drink was always filled. There is a freezer in the front filled with little single-serving cups of ice cream that reminded me of the school cafeteria when I was in grade school. The buffet is a bit on the pricey side compared to others of the same caliber. However, the service is excellent which it why I gave it 4 stars instead of three. The King Buffet is a little bit out of the way for me, but I would consider going back the next time I am in Jennings.

Playing early in the day is a completely different experience than playing in the evening, although this visit our play lasted more than 10 hours we left winners and had an amazing time and a pretty good meal prepared in-house at one of the host restaurants. This is a giant casino with a large variety of machines and tables and a super friendly staff - they continue to reinvest in this property to ensure it provides a wonderful experience in my opinion. This venue provides one of the only form of entertainment that you may leave with more than you arrived with if you treat it like entertainment and never invest more than you can afford to lose, as they say they didn't build these places on winner's so play conservative and within your means. I've been coming here for years and it never disappoints, one of the first things you'll notice when you walk through the doors is it's fill with the smiles of happy people. Recently visited and will not be coming back (Sept. 25, 26)…read more I gamble regularly in Las Vegas and California and have never been treated the way I was treated at this property tonight. I did not realize the table-game rules are different; with sunglasses not allowed at tables other than poker for one (fine, I didn't know). Instead of a simple explanation, it was handled like I had done something wrong, and when I needed to use my phone, I attempted to step away from the table I was playing at (which wasn't good enough). Instead of a warning, I was immediately threatened with management. When management came and I spoke with them and I asked calmly for a way to contact tribal guest relations since I felt the manner was handled very unprofessionally; I was then threatened with security. (Asking a question is not a reason to call security.) While I was talking to the head of security, a server who already had an issue with me (because I spoke loud in a loud environment) inserted herself into the conversation without being asked. It was passive-aggressive and unprofessional. I was not looking for a fight. I was trying to understand the rules, and I was instead retaliated against for asking. Thankfully, security had no reason to detain me and let me go. I have spent plenty of money at casinos that treat guests with respect but Coushatta treated me like a problem, and that is why I will not return. Do not come and gamble your money unless you want to be treated as a third-world citizen here. I will be cross posting.

The French toast could definitely use more cinnamon, and the service was okay. On my second visit, I ordered French toast, hot wings, and fries. Unfortunately, my fries never came. Our server was also incredibly rude to the other people at my table and was generally inattentive throughout the meal. We ended up speaking to a manager about the situation, but I'm not sure if anything was done to address it. The restaurant could also use a thorough cleaning. Overall, my experiences have been mixed, but the poor service during my second visit makes me hesitant to return.

I'll start with the cons bc it's not that much- the line for seafood can get long bc of how the buffet is set up. If the ppl in front move along you can get through fast. If not you'll have a wait. Due to the location of the door and the hot food side a couple of flies might be trying to find their way in the door to get to a couple of the goods. Pros- seafood was plentiful and good. Crawfish could have used a little more spice but not bad at all. Snow crab were great. They also have Jonah crab but I don't eat those. We had the chargrilled oysters, alligator bites for an appetizer as we typically do. The oysters seem to get more overcooked and dry every time we visit. The alligator bites were fine. One daughter ordered the crawfish Mac and cheese as an entree. It might have had five crawfish tails in the entire dish. The seasoning was typically flavorful but the lack of crawfish was a disappointment. My other daughter ordered the crab salad which she said was really good. From my perspective it was likely the best entree presented on our table. My wife and I ordered the crawfish trio with crawfish etoufee, fried tails and crawfish Mac & cheese. Similar to my younger daughter's entree, only smaller portion, our Mac & cheese had no crawfish tails that we could find. The etoufee seemed to be mostly rice and little crawfish. The fried crawfish was the only obvious crawfish on the platter. We are fairly certain this was our last visit to this Drago's as we can get far better food at Asia down the corridor for far less money. The service at Asia is also far superior.
