Stopped in here with my friends and it's awesome to have such good authentic Mexican/American desserts available so close to GCU! All of the workers were really nice and I didn't feel judged for trying to speak to them in Spanish. The banana split and milkshakes were really good! I would go for the banana split over the milkshake. The banana split comes with chocolate wafers and syrup over whipped cream and sprinkles, all for $8.50. They only do cash tips, sadly. Overall: This place is like a Mexican junk food store haha. Price: Tt's decent. Tip: They do charge 50 cents for using a card if it's under $10. I have been here about a few times now. But Each time I come here I order their Mango Vase or Vaso de Mango cause I love mangos with Mexican spices, seasonings, and chamoy in it. It's $6 for a regular size up or $7 for a large. I normally get the regular one since that's already a lot of mango slices in one cup. They really pack it in too which is awesome and worth the price. They have a huge variety of choices of fruit snacks, drinks, and ice cream. They also have chips where they can put in like cheese and other type of things in it. This is like a typical Mexican store with Mexican music playing and it seems like most families come here with their children. I was hoping to find a spot that makes the original raspados. (Cimarronas) is what we grew up calling them. Chayo's is very busy but they move folks right along. Folks were ordering things I've never seen before, and whatever they were, it was plentiful. I ordered the pineapple and strawberry raspado. My husband ordered mango and pineapple raspado. They looked beautiful. To me the fruit tasted and looked like it wasn't fresh but out of a can and strawberry tasted like the frozen ones that come in a carton. Over bearing sweet. The only fruit that was fresh was the mango. Which was diced in small pieces. We were both very disappointed. We won't be returning. read more

Everything that I've tried is delicious and they don't skimp on anything. I love that I found this place, unfortunately they don't have too many in north Phoenix so anytime I head south and stop at the one on 35th. Never going back due to the terrible customer service!!!Chayos has been a place I would always go to since they opened their second location there. I was glad they were getting the recognition they deserved. Though as of late, their customer service has been getting worse. I went late one night, 20 minutes before they closed. Now I know the employees were probably looking forward to going home (I've worked in the fast food industry before I understand). Keeping that in mind, they should still be friendly to the customers that come in while their sign reads "open". From the moment I walked through the door and I bumped into a guy cleaning around the entrance and I said "hi", no reply. I let that slide and moved to the counter where various workers were cleaning (one was cleaning around the cash register). They all saw me but no one said anything or greeted me. It took them about 4 minutes for someone to even acknowledge me. When a lady did she had an attitude, that should have been a sign to walk away and leave the place, but I had already made the trip. I only ask for two thing that didn't take much to make but every time I talked the lady would just sigh and look somewhere else. She didn't even take notes when I asked her not to put chili powder on an item and when asked her if she would please give me the cream/ milk of the other item on a separate cup instead of putting in the to go box (since it always overflows and spills). From there I waited a while for my order. While I was waiting more customers came in and I could tell they also felt uncomfortable ordering due to the same treatment I received. When I finally got my order I realized that none of the specifications I had asked for were met. When I told them I had requested the cream aside, they told me that's how they made it, with everything mixed together. Not surprising at all when I got home I noticed my whole car seat was wet and stained from the cream that spilled (this is the reason why I always ask for the cream on a separate closed cup). At the end, the my items weren't even all well made and missing a lot of ingredients. After that experience I have decided to never go there every again. There are many other shops like this one popping up all over town and I rather drive a bit more to go try those than deal with the horrible customer service at Chayos. read more

I have been to Neveria Chayos several times before and each time, my family and I are satisfied with the service and food. They keep all areas clean and organized. The workers are friendly and joke around with the customers, and not in a bad way. The lines are typically long but move quickly and take your order even before you reach the front of the line. They also offer a large variety of options from salty to sweet desserts, so there really is something for anyone. The workers get our orders right every time and it shows they make an effort to do so and ask specific questions regarding the food item you choose in case you don't want something that is put in it. They also put in an effort by remembering your name. For the things they serve, they have things that you may have heard of, but also new things that you can try. Neveria Chayos has an amazing staff, they are very nice and things are organized. Been here several times never had a bad experience with the food. Tables are always clean, floors are clean. Workers are never rude in anyway. I went wanting something that was not on the menu and they still made it. I've gone to places where workers tell you they do not make it and this place made it work. Most of the time there is a long line and at other places you'd have to wait t a while, at Chayos if there is a long line they'll take your order, you'll wait in line to pay and by the time you've paid its just a few minuets of a wait to get your order. they try to get things out quickly. read more
