Really can't say enough about NeverDry. I always look forward to my trips to Maui, but even more now that I get to dive with them. Although Ive only dove with one other shop, I can honestly say they're the best in the island. Had such a great experience with Mike. This was my and my fiancé's first time doing any sort of scuba diving. We were both really nervous but felt safe with Mike by our side. My fiancé and I were able to pick it up really quick and had a blast. I was surprised I did so well since I'm not a strong swimmer but managed just fine. At the end of the trip, he sent us with a bunch of photos he took. Also a plus is that you can tell Mike really enjoys what he does. My husband and I did PADI Advanced certification and also fun shore dives with Michael (the owner). Michael was easy going and patient with us. Our planning, pre-dive, during, and post-dive communications with Michael and Jennie (Michael's wife) were very smooth. Michael was very transparent over prices so that there were no surprises at the end. Michael was also the first dive instructor who managed to teach me perfect buoyancy, he taught me skills that increased my confidence while diving, which allowed me to enjoy the diving even more. I had an outstanding experience diving with Mike from NeverDry Divers during my time in Maui. I hadn't dove in nearly 4 years so I requested a refresher, which was incredibly helpful. Mike's information was comprehensive and succinct and brought me up to speed for the day's dive. I lucked out and was able to work one-on-one with Mike, both before and after our dive. He emphasized that my comfort and satisfaction with the dive was his foremost priority and this shone through in the whole experience. Our dive with Michael was my fiancés and my first dive after getting our open water certifications. While my fiancé is fearless when it comes to pretty much everything, I am much more careful and anxious. I was nervous coming into our shore dives with Michael, mostly about ear trouble, but once we were in the water all of my worries melted away and I had the most amazing time on both dives. Awesome dives! This was our first time (me and my two teenage daughters) diving in Maui. I always prefer guided dives but I don't like to be part of big boat dives. I really like the small dives shops and personal service. Michael and Jennie gave us more than we expected. Our first day of diving was two great shore dives, where we saw a ton of sea life including turtles and sharks. Our second day of diving was even more amazing. A wreck. Caves. Up close with more sharks and turtles. And scooters! Never dived with scooters, so that was pretty damn cool! As great as the dives were, it just made it that much better to have friendly, knowledgable, laid back service. My daughters felt comfortable the entire time. Michael's briefings were spot on. We all had a killer time...and even though we were up close and personal with jaws (ok, no great whites, but still...), everyone made it back with all their appendages. If you're gonna dive Maui, definitely look these guys up, you'll be glad you did. read more

While there's a lot of diving companies to choose from in Maui, I can honestly say I have to remain loyal to NeverDry Divers as they have never disappointed us. NeverDry Divers is run by a husband and wife team (Mike and Jennie). Between their friendliness and knowledge and expertise of the island and waters, I can't say that there's a better company to go diving with. We've gone diving with Mike several times in the last year and he has never disappointed us. We've had several family members and friends come visit us and every single time we take them diving, they've all had the same thing to say about Mike and their diving experience! Mike is super patient with the beginner and for the more advanced divers he makes sure to give them a memorable experience. My sister in law had never been diving before and was actually super claustrophobic but Mike made sure she felt safe and comfortable during her whole trip. At the end of the day, she said it was one of the most memorable experiences she's ever had. You can tell just by talking to Mike and Jennie that this isn't just a job to pay bills. They really do have a passion for what they do! They've dived in other countries as well too so they definitely know what they're talking about. I can't recommend them enough for any diving trips. I did three dives with Never Dry while visiting Maui. Mike was with me for all three, and his assistant Beth was there on the third. They were both amazing. Mike is the best divemaster I've hired in the US or abroad thus far. I have a bit of experience but my girlfriend had just finished her certification and he was so clear, so level headed he totally put her at ease. Lots of dive people I've met in Hawaii have been lackluster but he was really top notch, careful, detailed and also relaxed and fun. This is a bit of a delayed review but I wanted to share about my experience with Michael getting my Open Water Certification. I heard of Michael as a recommendation from my boyfriend, who has had many great dives with him in the past. I was excited but anxious with my first time learning to breath underwater- and some of the skills were difficult for me to complete. Michael was so patient and kind to me and when I almost decided "I don't think SCUBA is for me". He helped calm me and adjusted the plan to make sure I was successful in getting my open water certification. I am SO thankful for him. If I had been in a larger group or a less patient instructor- there is no doubt I probably would have thrown in the towel. Michael took me to Makena Landing, 5 Graves, and I think Uluoa? He was incredibly knowledgable of the area and showed me so many cool creatures and neat spots. I would highly recommend diving with Michael/Never Dry Divers if you find yourself out on Maui! Awesome dives for a reasonable price. I arranged with Jennie fairly last minute (like 2 days before) and managed to work out a day where I could do part of my Advanced Open Water PADI course. Jennie met me at the Costco the day before the dives to give me my course book. On the day of, communication was very clear as to where to meet. Mike took me out for a Navigation Dive and a Wreck Dive. Mike had all the equipment for me, and helped out with everything, and was a super knowledgeable and nice instructor. They even had fresh fruit, snacks, and drinks for me in the car! The cost was $65 for each of the 2 dives and $50 for the book + tax so $187 total. Not too bad. Sadly, I was not able to make the Night Dive as I got stuck in Hana and couldn't make it back in time. I had an awesome time at awesome dive sites. Besides accidentally hitting coral with my hands and getting small cuts. Oops. If you're interested in diving in Maui, NeverDry is highly recommended. read more

I found NeverDry Divers on Google prior to going on a cruise to Hawaii. Right off the bat I thought they had the best deals around the island which is why I decided to go with them without even reading reviews on them first. Organizing with them was hassle free, we told them about our time constraints and they had no issue working around them. Upon arriving to Maui, Mike picked us up at the pier where we docked, helped us with our bags and we were off to our first dive site. Unfortunately, the first dive site had to many waves to dive in and for safety reason he decided we should head to our second dive site. When he said this, I knew we were in safe hands, any company who puts safety first is important to me. We headed to our second dive site 5 caves. Upon arriving we had a briefing on the dive location, what to expect, the dangers we might encounter etc. Once we finished that he had us gear up while he set up our scuba systems for us. They provided everything from wet suits to bootys to wear under their fins. Once we went in he lead us underwater to some amazing underwater scenery, we encountered some turtles and sharks inside the cave, along with various other fish. After the dive he had some chairs for us to relax in and provided us with a incredible lunch. A bag with bagel sandwiches, chips, rice krispie treats, fruit, and plenty of water and juice drinks for us to hydrate with. It was perfect since we were all hungry after the dive. He packed up while we ate, then we were ready to go back, he dropped us off back at the port, and was also nice enough to stop at a walgreens for us since we would not be able to once we get on the cruise. Mike and Jennie are both awesome people with a beautiful son who look just like them. I really felt comfortable with both and Mike was excellent during the entire time. When we go back to Maui, I surely plan on returning to them to do more dives. i would recommend them to anyone looking to dive in Maui. My wife and I simply loved every minute with them. As first time divers, me and my wife were both a bit worried about all the problems we might be facing and Mike did such a wonderful job of briefing us with all the information we need and making sure we know our gigs well enough before getting into the fun part. I had amazing dives with Mike. We did shore dives with him last month. He was so thorough and care for divera. He made sure my brother who did the discover dive was safe and still enjoy his dive. He asked my sister and me what we would like to see and he tried to help us to find the spot and showed us. He also really care for the enviroment, he picked up the trash from fisher while we dove. Me: I only dive on vacations, which means really just one trip a year, been diving about 7 years. Am certified, but have no desire to dive by myself or purchase and maintain (and be responsible for!) all the equipment, so I always do private 1:1 dives. Ok, the review... Excellent communication to answer initial questions (some dive companies I reached out to never even responded...tells you something from the start) and leading up to and on each dive day. Never had been diving with Michael before, and did nearly a dozen dives on the trip (each one a different site, generally in the Wailea area). Felt extremely comfortable and appreciated Michael's clarity in explanation, the level of safety, and just as important to me, respect for the environment. I've been out with dive shops in Maui that are quick to jam wrenches into coral to get an octopus to come out so you can hold them - lovely for a selfie, but just not cool, and not aligned with what I am looking for in a dive professional. I've been out before with scooters and had sworn them off (the heavy two-handed style that you have to leave on the bottom when not using), but not anymore - Michael has some excellent new scooters that can clip right to your BCD and are very light though still powerful. Another plus...Michael has a background in underwater photography and provides shots from dives as well, gratis - can't beat that. The only disappointment...he was booked up my last week in Maui so I couldn't get in some more dives with him before I left. read more

I went to NeverDry Divers Maui to get SCUBA Certified with my thirty year old daughter. It is a whole new world under water! We dove with dolphins, a manta ray, turtles galore, white tip reef sharks on almost every dive, an octopus, some very camouflaged frog fish, barracudas, lizard fish, and an array of reef creatures...We were provided with a CD/DVD of memories of almost all of it, including a few poses of us, too! NeverDry Divers, Mike and Jennie exceeded all expectations! They handled us with the TLC that was needed to ultimately get us to our goal of being Open Water Diver Certified.
