I told her I was down the street and she made me feel like they are gonna let me be seen only because I was close, or else I wouldn't be seen. I don't understand why she had to call me right at 8:30AM telling me my appointment is at 8:30AM when in fact it was 8:45AM. I'm attaching a screen capture of my voicemail confirming it was 8:45AM and a screen capture of her phone call to me to prove when this harassment started. When I entered the waiting room a woman was arguing with Shannon from the front office. During this I stepped a side to wait to check-in. Then when I checked in with Vanessa, Shannon took it upon herself to be unprofessional and be rude to me even though I was not even talking to her. She said I'll no longer be treated with you for dry eye. I asked is there any other place I can go to be as this was the second time for this to happen to me. Shannon's response was in a raised voice and rude. She told me, "We live in a desert! So of course you are going to have dry eye. Dry eye is treated over the counter you don't need to see a doctor for it!" Isn't that medical advice? She is not a medical provider so she should not be giving medical advice. Also, if treatments OTC worked why do I have to see a medical provider for my dry eye? Shannon's behavior was uncalled for and unprofessional. She made the front office experience extremely unwelcoming.

I'm not sure. I never had any issues with my eyesight prior to surgery--no history of dry eyes, and my vision was generally pretty good aside from needing glasses for driving. What's most upsetting is that I was never warned that severe dry eye could result from this procedure. If I had known, I would have seriously reconsidered or at least postponed the surgery. Now, I wake up with painfully dry eyes every day. The discomfort is constant, and even prescription medications barely provide any relief. It feels like I have no natural moisture left in my eyes. On top of that, my vision under artificial light with these LAL lenses is extremely poor. I'm left wondering whether all cataract lenses would have caused this--or if it's specific to these RX Sight LAL's. The marketing and promises from the RxSight LAL lenses was very persuasive, and I opted for early surgery because I believed the "hype." But that promise has not been fulfilled. The lack of transparency about potential side effects, especially such a significant one, is deeply disappointing. To make matters worse, I've received no meaningful support from the company, not even a return call. If I had been properly informed, I absolutely would not have chosen these lenses. Buyer be warned. There a lot of issue with cataracts replacements so be Extremely informed.

This was my first visit to an ophthalmologist outside of Kaiser. First, I called in January for the appointment and the soonest one available was late May. Then, I arrive 15 minutes early as I always do, after doing the online check in process that was supposed to make the process quicker when I arrived. They asked me the same questions (at the counter where others could hear...I don't like that at all) that I'd answered online. I waited in the waiting room about 10 minutes so not too bad. It was the additional 30-40 minutes in the room that upset me. The doctor was great though. She was thorough and explained everything. I just didn't expect an ophthalmology appointment to last 2 hours. I ended up having to take the rest of the day off and I hadn't planned to do so.

He did surgery on my one eye back several years ago after I got Cataracts from having my eye repaired from an accident (kicked in the eye). This 2nd eye was doing well until recently and so I had to have this one taken care of. They explain everything ahead of time and give you everything you need. They got me in fairly quick, I was worried I would have to wait months. I will continue to go to him at his practice. My wife started out with Dr. Vazeen but somehow over the years got transferred to a different doctor in the office. Not sure how this happened but every time she goes in now she has the other doctor. I just think they need to be more transparent when you make the appointment as to which doctor you will be working with. She needs the same surgery I have had and will be getting it done with the other doctor in the office, sure hope that person is as good as Doctor Vazeen. I have friends that go here to and they told my wife that Dr. Vazeen would only hire the best. That's a comfort for her.

My experience with Nevada Retina Associates was incredibly frustrating from start to finish…read more They repeatedly "lost" my referral (even after it was sent multiple times), don't accept emails, and made me wait nearly a full day just to confirm they had it. They also refused to schedule my appointment without insurance info, only to tell me after I arrived that they don't take my insurance. They charged me $500 upfront, then later said the visit was only $130. I was also forgotten in an exam room for 40 minutes, and the front desk had no idea where I was. To make matters worse, my insurance later confirmed this office actually DOES accept my plan, which means my out-of-pocket cost should have only been $50, and they aren't willing to refund me immediately, as they did with the $500. Now have to wait for them to process this mess via the insurance. So no follow-up, no accountability, and now I have to start over with another doctor and pay again. And when I spoke to the billing person, Shannon. She was very rude. I had to remind her that if the shoe were on the other foot, she would feel differently. Completely disorganized and unacceptable for a medical office dealing with serious eye issues. I would strongly recommend going elsewhere.

I felt lucky coming out of the appointment (Dr. Amanda Brewer) with a healthy eye opinion and a reasonable progressive prescription. After a few months of using my new spectacles, I noticed that my eyesight was actually getting worse. So back to Dr. Brewer I went to look at my prescription. What she found instead was that my cataracts had grown, and it was time for surgery. She then referred me to Dr. Caleb Morris at Nevada Eye Consultants. Nevada Eye Consultants is quite an operation, full of patients, doctors, and support staff. I was efficiently shuttled from room-to-room including another eye exam, some follow-up, 1:1 time with Dr. Morris, and the insurance person. This experience kind of reminded me of taking my then step-daughter to the Orthodontist to see if braces were required. The visit being 1 part Doctor and an equal part being treatment and financing options. I thought Dr. Morris was great and as another review rightly stated: From consultation to surgery day and follow up- professional, clean, communicative. Note that Surgery is done next door at the Eye Surgery Center of Northern Nevada.
