​Stay away--sales-driven company with terrible weekly maintenance…read more ​I hired Priority Pools based on their high ratings, and over the course of more than a month under their care, my pool was green with algae. ​Key Issues: ​Constant Upselling: Right after onboarding, they tried to sell me unnecessary overhauls--including a new saltwater cell, completely missing that my pool already had a one-year-old salt system running. ​Poor Tech Knowledge & Reporting: The technician assigned to my weekly route didn't speak English, which doesn't have to be a problem, but he didn't seem to know I had a saltwater pool despite my messages to the company and they assured me that he was aware. Weekly reports lacked basic chemical breakdowns and only provided a photo of a meter. ​Weeks of Ignored Algae Blooms: Despite multiple messages alerting them to worsening algae over several weeks, proper testing (like CYA) wasn't done until a company leader flagged it when called me after I notified them I was cancelling. ​Offering free service doesn't fix persistent bad service. I had to hire outside help just to restore my pool. Look past the marketing and check their most recent 1-star reviews before hiring them. I don't take this review or my experience lightly, I don't do bad reviews.

This guy has been taking care of business a LONG TIME and it shows. Everytime I called with a question or any concern,the phone was answered. The issue was resolved. After posting my issues here- Greg immediately reached out and offered to come check it out himself. He came, explained how to repair the issue and assured my husband that if there truly was any plaster issue he would address it through the warranty. They worked everything out to my husbands satisfaction (he can be even more critical than me). So, when it came to replastering an existing 'model home' pool albeit a modest pool (originally built by Nevada Pools) that was deteriorating, I called Distinctive. All in all, I figured it to be a straight forward job as the footprint would be staying the same. Owner Edgar Herrera impressed me as knowledgeable and well equipped. Upon his recommendation, I also decided to replace the waterline tile. I was so confident in him that I did not feel the need to even stay in town to oversee the process. For this job, I selected a quartz product (new to me) in Cappuccino, and I was excited for the change to come. Throughout the process, however, I felt as though my job was just too small and not a priority. In fact, I know that Distinctive was performing a large scale new build near me as more than once, I was told that a rep would swing by after visiting the other site. Had my son not been home when my pool was initially filled (we did this twice), it would have overflowed into the backyard. While Edgar did respond to my concerns, I feel that had he and his team been more proactive I would not have needed to shoot off trouble calls after hours. My main concern involved the quartz material as rendered (which I was viewing as cell phone photos from my son). While Edgar did initially tell me that the pool needed to be 'swept' after being filled with water, I interpreted that to mean the pool needed to be cleaned to establish the correct water quality and PH. It had not occurred to me that the plastering process was not yet completed?! I have never had a pool contractor hand off a job that was not actually done and ready for swimmers. Further, Edgar knew that I had not yet hired a new pool tech. Long story short, I have a distinctive pool all right (see photos). I refuse to believe that the resulting mottling, uneven distribution of quartz and staining in the body of the pool are my fault. To his credit, Edgar did have his plaster sub, Rainbow Pool Plastering, return to perform an acid wash on the pool, but it really is no better and certainly does not reflect the nearly $30K spent on it. I am still waiting on the pool accessory kit $500. The only reason this is not a 1-Star Review is because Edgar is a nice guy and I do not believe this was his desired outcome either. To anyone considering a quartz product, I highly suggest you do your homework first. The web is full of similar stories to my own. ~ Tammy

Instead of sending me off with the things that I asked for being a knowledgeable in the pool sector of things, Bill asked me to go home and collect a sample from my pool and bring it back and he'll diagnose everything will thing and supply me with what I need. 24 hours later my pool has the correct salt levels and conditioner levels and pH levels. Before they were delivered, we went back several times to look at our trees to make sure they weren't too large for our yard. Our original salesman was no longer working there, and that's when we met Houghton, who just happened to be around. We explained our concerns about the size of the trees, giving him the measurements of our yard space. He confirmed that they would fit. I was still anxious but went with his expertise. Once we got home, Houghton called us and asked if we would like him to come over and check out the yard personally. (I had thought about asking him but felt foolish. He knew I still had doubts). He came to our home and confirmed that they would fit perfectly. The trees were just delivered and planted. (Side note... the trees delivered were the wrong ones. One call to Houghton (it was his day off), and within no time, we had the correct ones delivered.) I cannot say enough about Houghton. He wasn't even the salesman we purchased the trees from, but his customer service, professionalism and personal concern for our perfect experience, went above and beyond! I strongly recommend him to anyone who is interested in purchasing trees from Moon Nursery.
