I've been going down memory lane a bit and with some recent serious chocolate cravings, I started reminiscing about my Brussels trip back a few summers ago and my trip to the Neuhaus Factory (Store). Hands down, THE BEST, most DELICIOUS CHOCOLATE I have ever tasted. Amazing! Free samples and such a wide variety of flavors and types of chocolates. Truly a craft. If you're in Brussels and want chocolate (of course you do you're in Belgium for god's sake!) you gotta come here. There are lines and lines and lines of chocolates for you to sample FOR FREE. It is a ways from the center of Brussels but the 40-60 min trip one way IS WORTH the excursion. Neuhaus claims to be the inventor of the praline and is world renowned and where better to try it than where you can sample to your hearts content for FREE. Also you can buy 1kg boxes galore. They have a sale 3 boxes (1kg each) for 90 euro which is crazy expensive but if you're doing the math it's a good price because one of those chocolates on its own is sure to cost 2.50/3 dollars. (Yes I bought three boxes) if you don't want to spend 90 euros (reasonable lol) there's lots of other things to choose from that will likely be more within budget! read more

Unlimited sampling of fine Belgian Chocolates? Yes, don't mind if I do!!! Totally worth a train ride from center city Brussels and a short walk to this amazing factory. You just follow the signs to the Shop through their parking lot and begin indulging. We started breaking the candies in 2 early on, so we wouldn't get too stuffed. Good move because both of us felt like we'd had a Willy Wonka type overdose by the time we left there. Prices were fabulous for large quantities to bring back with us to share with our family. The only hard part was deciding which kinds to buy. It required repeated sampling....oops! Our favorites had Scotch & Brandy inside them! read more

I like chocolate, particularly dark chocolate. I have anxiety when there is none in the house. After my visit here, that's not gonna happen for a long time!! And look, Belgian chocolate IS different. It's richer, darker, better mouth feel, better ingredients, and the work of real craftsmen. It's the gold standard of chocolate and the Belgians rightfully take pride in it. As they should. And there are shops everywhere around Brussels. But you are far better off taking the Metro line 5 to Erasmus, walk up the street 8 minutes to the Belgian equivalent of Willy Wonka's factory All tasting is free. Imagine that. Yeah, let that little kid on Easter morning in you come out, go ahead and gorge yourself on every conceivable chocolate goody. All within your grasp. But be careful, you may pay the price a little later when your stomach sends a little signal. But look, when else in your life will you ever be encouraged to eat as much as you want of Belgian chocolate?? Never. The deals are amazing as is the selection. You can opt for the pretty gift boxes, prepackaged truffles, biscuits, etc. or go for the gold at the back of the store for the kilogram boxes of nearly anything you can want. €25 per box or 3 for €50!! Attention, Attention - chocolate factory outlet with free tasting of nearly everything you buy...this is not a drill! Yes, that's right you read it correctly - free tasting of FULL sized pralines, truffles, bars etc...none of those cut up sad fragments you get from the shops in the Grand Place. They don't have every single flavor, though I believe thy cycle through them accordingly. Love the fact that you can sample nearly everything they are selling at outlet prices. The best deal is the 3 x 1kg cartons of chocolate for €50. The downside though that you need to consider is that you only get 1 unique flavor inside the 1kg box. Also, need to mind the expiration date, where it is probably best to get the ones with plenty of months on them. If you have allergies to nuts be sure to read labels. read more

THIS is your location for Belgium chocolate! Factory direct at a discounted price with FREE samples! And by samples I mean full-sized truffles or what would come in the box. Amazing experience. You will eat more chocolate than you can handle, but at least you'll know you love whatever you buy. HIGH quality, great selection and many different types of deals. I spent $200 (USD) and made my family and friends back in the US very happy! HIGHLY recommend. Well worth the ride. Just outside of Brussels. the neuhaus chocolate factory outlet is just outside of Brussels, but it's definitely worth the journey. Take the metro line 5, and get off at Erasme. From there, it's only a short 5-10 minute walk. The best part about this shop is that you can sample almost every chocolate they have. Open chocolate boxes are everywhere, so feel free to stuff yourself full of wonderful Belgian chocolates. Belgian chocolate is already amazing. Neuhaus in my opinion is the best. Getting Neuhaus chocolate at outlet prices is THE BEST!!! We loved it and ended up bringing home A LOT of chocolate. Best decision ever when I came. It's a bit out of city centre, about a 20-30 metro to the end of the 5 and then a 5-10 minute walk though the campus. Keep asking people for directions. People were very kind and everyone knew where the chocolate shop was. Seeing all the samples of chocolate were an absolute delight but eating them was even better. I took it upon myself to sample everything and wound up literally having to waddle out of there. I didn't buy one of the 1 kg boxes in the back because I wanted more variety. They had a promo going on for these 750g variety bags for only 7,50 euro each or 15 euro for three bags. So of course, I bought three. My favorite was the white chocolate with a hazelnut center. Normally I'm a dark chocolate kinda girl but their white chocolate was divine. Even though I walked out promising never to eat that much chocolate again, you bet that if I'm back in Brussels, I'll be back as fast as my stubby little legs will carry me. read more

I thought I died and went to Chocolate heaven when I stumbled upon the Neuhaus outlet just outside of Brussels. At the outlet you can buy various overrun chocolate items at a steep discount to the shops in town. You can also try all the chocolate in your stomach can hold as they have free samples everywhere. I suggest if you love chocolate like I do and have the desire to have an almost chocogasim to check out the shop. To reach the outlet from central Brussels take metro line 5 to Erasmus which is the last stop then walk about 750m. read more
