Neuhaus Factory Store. OMG, such good chocolate!
    James M.

Neuhaus Factory Store. You thought Belgians love their beer, wait 'till you try their chocolate! Spectacular! There is no better chocolate than Belgium Chocolate, and the best price for high quality chocolate can be found at Neuhaus Factory Store. It is worth your time to make the trip. Five Stars.

    Chocolate Tasting!

Unlimited sampling of fine Belgian Chocolates? Yes, don't mind if I do!!! Totally worth a train ride from center city Brussels and a short walk to this amazing factory. You just follow the signs to the Shop through their parking lot and begin indulging. We started breaking the candies in 2 early on, so we wouldn't get too stuffed. Good move because both of us felt like we'd had a Willy Wonka type overdose by the time we left there. Prices were fabulous for large quantities to bring back with us to share with our family. The only hard part was deciding which kinds to buy. It required repeated sampling....oops! Our favorites had Scotch & Brandy inside them!

€25 per kilogram box or 3 boxes for €50!!!

I like chocolate, particularly dark chocolate. I have anxiety when there is none in the house. After my visit here, that's not gonna happen for a long time!! And look, Belgian chocolate IS different. It's richer, darker, better mouth feel, better ingredients, and the work of real craftsmen. It's the gold standard of chocolate and the Belgians rightfully take pride in it. As they should. And there are shops everywhere around Brussels. But you are far better off taking the Metro line 5 to Erasmus, walk up the street 8 minutes to the Belgian equivalent of Willy Wonka's factory All tasting is free. Imagine that. Yeah, let that little kid on Easter morning in you come out, go ahead and gorge yourself on every conceivable chocolate goody. All within your grasp. But be careful, you may pay the price a little later when your stomach sends a little signal. But look, when else in your life will you ever be encouraged to eat as much as you want of Belgian chocolate?? Never. The deals are amazing as is the selection. You can opt for the pretty gift boxes, prepackaged truffles, biscuits, etc. or go for the gold at the back of the store for the kilogram boxes of nearly anything you can want. €25 per box or 3 for €50!! A box free!! That works out to about $9 per pound. Never ever see that kind of pricing for this quality. I might have bought a bunch. I'm not gonna apologize.

Some of the best value for money in Belgian chocolate! Prices are more advantageous than in regular stores and choice is good. There is also the possibility to taste anything in the 1kg boxes (1 for 20€, 3 for 40€), one of the most popular features of the store. Special editions, like the chefs' box, Neuhaus history are also available, as well as Sinterklaas specials.

This chocolate factory is the best place to buy great quality chocolate at an extremely discounted price. What I love about this store is that you can sample any chocolate before you buy it. This is a must visit place if you are visiting the city.

The best place where you can recognize what Belgian chocolate is. From free trial eating chocolate experience, you can choose the best one from your point of view. Attention for children! Even there are many pieces of chocolate with free payment, some of them is ONLY for adult due to liquor is in. No need free children on the floor.

In the Grand Place these chocolate shoppes were lined up almost next to each other. Neuhaus was the first and ultimately the finalist. I appreciated the welcome as I came in, an overview of the history as I drooled over the well stocked cases. Of course there were too many flavors and types to pick from. Overall my taste buds did its job and the flavor combos, the snap of the chocolate and taste won me over to Neuhaus. I ended up customizing the boxes according to the choices dictated by family back home which covered pralines with caramel, yuzu, coffee, speculoos, etc. In the end buying direct avoided tariffs and what I saved went to more pralines but the tradeoff was a fuller luggage. Neuhaus had a frequent buyer program that I signed up for. Not sure how much I'll make use of it.

Visually it's amazing with all the chocolate and options you have to chose from. Yes it's not inexpensive but quality chocolate is well worth it. The lady in the shop was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in making the right selection. Neuhaus was the inventor of filled chocolate with awesome flavors. If in Brussels this is a must stop to shop!

I finally had the chance to redeem myself by attending the Brussels Tour where one of the stops was here. I spent a good chunk of my budget on chocolates for dad and made sure to not let history repeat itself. I purchased 5 macarons: 3 Salted Caramel, 1 framboise, and 1 pistachio. My all time favorite flavors brought me right back to that moment when I took my first bite on the streets of Paris. It was seriously like that scene out of Ratatouille where it brought him back to his childhood. It was the same for me! Best flavors of your life: pistachio and Salted Caramel. Thumbs up if you agree and tried!

The prices are very fair for the quality. I ended up paying €250 for three Grand Crus assortment boxes and a stack of Kendem Lembu and Los Rios bars. The Kendem Lembu - Java bars are amazingly good if you enjoy 70+ cocoa count. Their chocolates have great complexity and richness. In fact the only chocolatiers that I would rate higher are Sprungli in Zurich and Le Maison du Chocolat and Michel Cluizel in Paris.
