Further, why 3 year contracts when they don't pay for the equipment...they charge the customer up front.

I got a call from Neil whose father started the business 30 years ago. He apologized and asked for details. I told him I appreciated the call and would amend my review. He said that was necessary as that is the point of reviews and they messed up. In our conversation, I mentioned that ADT was not scheduled for another week when I am back in town. He asked if he could come over and speak with me about my services. He apologized, discussed my service with me and I chose to renew my agreement with Atronic. They came out today (10/13) to get me hooked back up and I had some requests that they accommodated. I appreciate a local company that takes pride in their work and is not too proud to prove themselves again and ask for your business. ___________________________ This review is more about the service than the product. I moved to KC three years ago and the home I bought had Atronic. I contacted them and continued the service. I wanted to do business with them since they are local and not go with someone like ADT. I switched to Google Fiber 9 months ago and got rid of my land line phone. My security system would not work without the land line. I called and there were some expensive wireless hook up charges and in addition, the monthly fee went up $10 a month. I asked to have the set-up waived since I was a current customer. They would not do it. I decided to cancel service since I never use it. 9 months later I decide I want to re-activate my service. I call them to arrange it and they no longer charge the set-up fee, but the increased monthly fee. Fine. I am told I will get a call with someone to arrange it. Three weeks later I have not heard from anyone. I call back and am told that a form was emailed to me and they were waiting to get it back....from three weeks ago. I never received it. They sent another and it went into my Junk folder, but I was watching for it this time. In those three weeks, I had a call from ADT and went through a quote process with them. It was a better deal, much better actually, and I said no because I wanted to keep it local. Atronic is now waiting on me to fill out a new form (never mind I was already a customer and they have one on file) and they will get me on a service call list once I return it. ADT offered to have a Service Technician out the next day if I would sign up with them. Hello, ADT! Where have you been all my life? If you want to give your money to a company that wants it, I would suggest looking elsewhere. There are other local options.

Also, they refused to leave my property when told. My interaction with them resulted in the worst purchasing experience I've had in my life. There were serious problems in every single step of this purchasing process. Aug 22 - contacted Defender Security, (I learned later they are an ADT subcontractor) about a new security system in my rental house. During the sales call (2nd level escalated) the fast talking Jillian offered a lot of freebees. I liked what she said and her offer to send a CONSULTANT to meet me at the house the next morning. She said I could make a decision then about purchasing the service. She got the initial salesman back on the phone and was talking so fast I could hardly track. I heard her tell him to charge me $107.00 on a credit card. When I told him to forget it and cancel the appointment, he put me on indefinite hold. I called back and spoke with a different manager who said, it is just a "hold." No purchase, no charge. Ok I was going forward. The DS CONSULTANT was to call 30-minutes in advance of arrival the following morning 8-9. Aug 23 - They did not call within the appointment window. Fully annoyed, I called to cancel the CONSULTATION and spoke to S-E-V-E-N people before reaching a woman to whom I had to say "please cancel" three times before she would do it. She had no idea of the location of the CONSULTANT. A few minutes later, I received a call from the tenant. She complained about "these men in my home." I told her to tell the DS CONSULTANT that I cancelled my appointment and to leave. She then told me that a crew of two were halfway done with the security system installation. OMG!!! I got off the phone with her to call DS but instantly received a call from one of the DS installers who was in my house. I won't include all of the detail although it will go into a letter to ADT. Here's the summary... He argued and complained. He said they were halfway done with the installation and wanted to finish; now they would have to take out wires (the system is wireless); he lied about calling me 30-minutes in advance; he "reprimanded" me about my duty to keep the tenant safe; he would not respond to me telling him to leave saying he could stay because the tenant had let him in even when I told him I was the person who would order and pay for the system. He then insulted me and called me a liar. I was forced to yell into the phone that he was trespassing and to get off the property and that I was calling the police. I got in the car headed toward the house, called the police and the service manager-who defended their actions. When I arrived at the house, DS personnel were gone. 8/25 - I'm paying bills when I see the $107.xx charge to my credit card. No reimbursement. When I called DS about this, the call-taker told me the Manager would not speak with me because it was "too late." An order had been placed and I had to wait 7-10 days for a refund. It's like predatory lending. I am disappointed with the company that ADT keeps. ...and this company, Defender Security??? I wouldn't if I were you.

I called Teague to have them look at a wired smoke detector I thought I had a problem with. When…read morethey arrived, the electrician said it was not a smoke decor wired to the security system, and he could not fix it. He did nothing more than look at it, then walked out. Came back few minutes later saying the charge was $125. ( You should know that Teague installed the wiring, smoke detectors and security system in the house when it was built.) After paying and thinking about what they charged me, I called the Teague office to discuss it. When I called, I was told the manager had just stepped out, but the receptionist said he would call me back when he came back. He never called back. If they came out and found a problem, and I decided not to have them repair it, I could see them charging me for the service call. But coming out, looking at it and telling me they could not work on it, and then charging me $125, I think is a poor business practice. They put the system in, so obviously they could work on it. And then not calling me back, another poor business practice. I will not call them again, they obviously have no concern for their customers, they only care about how much money they can get out of them. If you need an electrician, call elsewhere and get someone you can trust to do the work, not walk away with your money.

I asked to get a technician weeks ago and only just found out through ADT that my contract was actually through safe haven after being on hold for literally 2+ hours and having a call go blank twice when trying to get connected to the Fresno location. The only person who reached out to me was a man on vacation via text. From there they had tech support call me instead of a technician coming out. It's cheaper at this point to stay in my contract, but I'll do everything I can to make sure people don't sign up for this like I did. Save your money and get a cheap and more reliable Amazon Ring device! I put one up in the front of my house and it's already more useful than anything Safe Haven has given me. I will say that IF the technicians do come, they're always really friendly and walk you through fixes step by step. To Safe Haven - Pay your guy on vacation more, and get better customer service.
