My husband is elderly and I am disabled. We haven't found any decent cars in our area, so we turned to the internet. We saw a car, a Subaru Outback 6 speed manual, that looked good and met all of our requirements, including price. We live out of state. It is difficult for us to travel. First, George said it couldn't be shipped. Later, he said it could be shipped for $200, claiming he already said that. We called to buy it. We weren't even trying to beat him down in price. George argued with us about buying it. He said he never heard of anyone buying a car without test driving it. People buy cars off the internet all the time. The listing said the car was in excellent shape and came with a 6 month extended warrantee.. Is this a good car? He said that it was 2 months ago. He couldn't say now. Why doesn't this guy want to take our money? George essentially said we couldn't trust him. He said it could only be purchased with a certified bank check - no bank transfer, no credit card. George said if we did this, we would send him the money first, no paperwork. After he gets the money from the certified check, then we buy the car. What stops him from just keeping our money? Our conversation with him was like being in the twilight zone. This was on Friday. On Monday, we had a friend who is a mechanic who lives in NJ go to the dealership, hoping we could get this done. The car was sold. Thank you George. He screwed us. Maybe it's best we didn't get the car. This business seems pretty shady if you ask me.

This is a very honest and reputable place to get your car fixed. Pricing is fair and the integrity is there. I've always been treated with respect as well. I wish I could give more than 5 stars! This repair shop has always put me at ease when I've had issues with my vehicle. I won't go anywhere else.

He came to me on a Saturday asking if I would drive him to purchase a car( since he had to quit working) and his car was having too many problems. It was almost 5PM and Saturday, so he wanted to go to a used car dealer rather than a new car dealer. I remembered one on Rt.46 in Ledgewood from a few years back, but didn't know how late they stayed open. I dcided to take him there and see. They were open and I told him to wait in the car while I went in. The owner and the sales mgr. were there and I told them why I was there and told them I had a friend with a serious medical condition who needed a vehicle for a year ( or longer depending on his health) and he didn't want to spend a lot, but needed a car that didn't have a high frequency of repairs and was reliable even with higher mileage. By the way, my neighbor found 2 or 3 cars that were recommended in Consumer reports that he was interested in, and Ridgemont had two of them in their stock. To make a long story short, they said to bring him in, and not worry about when they were going to close. The Sales Mgr. went outside with my friend and me and showed us the two cars that he was interested in. The first one was a higher mileage vehicle and looked passible but the Sales Mgr. didn't recommend purchasing it. The second one was very clean, lower mileage, priced very well and had just gotten in to their inventory. It had a valid inspection sticker which was new and good until 2027. it was a 2018 and my friend and I checked every option to see if they worked( which they did). The price was very good but the Sales Mgr dropped the price a little more without asking, and even said they would give a 3 mos. /3,000 mile warranty on top of everything. Now, I was a Director of Marketing for 35 years and I know Customer Service. Also, I didn't tell you, my neighbor was also an excellent mechanic for a local Service Center, who was a brake, tire, and front end specialist.( plus, he could fix almost anything). My point being, these two people at Ridgemont spent a great deal of time, being courteous, professional, and friendly to my neighbor, that made me feel the least I could do was write a review. Also, I would recommend Ridgemont to anyone looking for a used car, and I know people do have problems, even those that buy luxury cars, for a few reasons. It doesn't cost you anything to go there and look ( no hard sell), also you can still shop around, next you still can negotiate if you want, last they are polite, courteous, and professional, and you can talk to them without being rushed. I just sent another customer there and I'll wait to hear what they say after the purchase. Their stock was pretty wide and diverse so you should be able to find something.Again,it doesn't cost you anything to look.

I live out of town, so, after a little online research, I reached out to Rockaway Service due to their 5-star reviews. When I inquired as to the cost of plugging a slow leak, I was told there was no charge as it was a service they perform for free. I was taken aback. No charge? Naturally, I had my mom drop the car off. Pat and Dan were very nice. A short time later Dan called me to discuss an issue with the sub-frame. My mom's vehicle is a Jeep Compass - subframe rotting out is a well-known and common issue. I was actually already aware of this on my mom's car and had been keeping an eye on it for the last year or so, knowing it would need to be replaced at some point. Dan texted me photos of the current condition with his recommendation that I not put it off any longer. The photos he took while the car was up on the lift showed the rotting had progressed much further than I could see from my vantage point with the vehicle on the ground. I grew up working on cars my entire life: My father was a huge do-it-yourselfer, so I know my way around an automobile. I know if I'm being spoken to honestly or not. I was trying to hold off because it could be a pricey repair, but Dan was correct - I could not put it off any longer. We made arrangements to bring the car back in a week. My mom dropped off her car to get the repair done and they actually drove her to work - unfortunately, the repair took a little longer than expected (as these things sometimes tend to do - it happens) so they picked her up at the end of the day and drove her home! Knowing my mom needed the car (she a senior widow, living alone), Dan stayed late the next night, finishing the repairs and then he personally delivered the car to my mom at her house! Who does that? Both Dan, Pat and even Denise (the woman that answered the phone) were all pleasant and professional. They went above and beyond what I would consider to be "normal" service. My mom is ecstatic about how much better the car drives and I'm very happy with the pricing. I think everyone can agree that it's very difficult to find a mechanic you can trust, and cold-calling one like I did here was a gamble. But it was a gamble that I'm glad to say paid off. I can't say enough good things about the way they treated both my mom and me. I know I tend to be overly wordy sometimes... but this time it's warranted. I just wish I lived closer to them, as, based on this experience, and the way they treated us as a first-time customer, would be very confident having them service my entire families' vehicles. I have no qualms or reservations about recommending them. Thanks, Guys! Brian Dowling
