This branch of Starbucks is located in the Plaza section of Schipol Airport, it is a fairly small…read morebranch with limited seating, to the point where I had to go somewhere else with my drink. Very disappointing.
This branch is pretty much typical of a standard Airport coffee shop, fast and impersonal service with more focus on speed than quality, and a selection of Amsterdam and The Netherlands merchandise.
I ordered a Venti Cold Brew Latte with Vanilla Syrup, normally in the UK this costs me £3.20, as I receive free vanilla syrup through being a Gold-member, sadly as UK and US Starbucks Cards can't be used here, I couldn't take advantage of that privilege and my drink cost just over £5 after converting it back to my currency from the Mastercard Exchange rate, in local currency the drink ended up costing a huge 5.60 euros! My server did try overcharging me at first by trying to charge me in pounds, instead of euros, I'd prefer to pay in euros via my card due to the fact I receive considerably better rates, without even paying a fee as regular bank cards would charge, however, she did have no problem and quickly changed it which ended up saving me around £0.23 which is around 0.26 euros off my order.
My drink quality was OK, as with Starbucks you pretty much know what you're getting most of the time as my drink proven here. It was a shame to see the Cold Brew served from a special jug rather than on tap, which I feel tastes fresher, nicer and creamier which some other stores have, however.
A nice addition to have in the arrival sections of the airport which helped me pass the time while waiting for a train back into the center of Amsterdam, but due to a large amount of issues, including but not limited to: the seating, the pricing and service I feel this branch only deserves a two-star rating, I understand this is an airport store and a franchise store but charging 57% more is simply ridiculous!
