I'm sure many of us have always wondered why airport food can't be good. Well guess what? The Dutch got it right! My seabass with risotto, pumpkin, beets, and asparagus got me standing up and saying "thank you, Jesus!" The risotto was soft and creamy, the seabass was so flavorful and the beets and pumpkin perfectly cooked. It paired well with the Sancerre which was also a great blend of crisp and fruity. The service was fast and friendly. The location was elegant, making you completely forget you were in an airport. They have a wide variety of foods and drinks versatile for everyone (including vegetarians and pescatarians such as myself) I'm making sure I connect via Amsterdam on all my trips!!

It looks like a cheap self service but it is not cheap at all. Like the rest of the dining places at Schiphol. Quality is okish. They do heat up pre cooked food and do prepare sandwiches. It can be very crowded. Specially the check out. Seating is "outside" in the terminal area. It is an ok place to grab something to eat or drink before your flight but I would not get very excited. Service is quite robotic with not much smiling. Prices considered, 3 stars are plenty.

Boring food. Not all menu items available. Dreadful service and hugely expensive. Apart from that it's great. I have dropping into this place since 2005 and I can't see a single change to either the menu or the service. It's cute, as people wear shirts with slogans like "passionate about serving you". What rubbish. I appreciate that they are very busy but hey, how about just any service. It's in Schiphol so you are kinda a captive audience with few options, but this place is just plain bad and well worth avoiding. I wish I could be kinder. But in all honesty...it just sucks but it is inside the departure areas of the 2nd largest airport on Earth. So if you understand the pressures, the prices, the extreme heat and lack of service...then enjoy. But personally I think I would rather gauge my eyes out with a spoon than ever eat here again..... Or maybe not...look at the options?

There is a time in which you just need some comfort food. Busy week abroad and long flight usually brings you to this time. In my case nothing makes me happier than cheese. I found the perfect comfort food in Het Paleis: fondue roll served with veggies and pickles. Perfection!

    Thank you both.

These BEAUTIFUL people took such good care of me. I had a long layover. Had never been to the country and wanted some good food, FAST. I would definitely recommend this place. The service was very good. My waitress, both of them, were adorable, personable and very efficient. The Kroketten and dessert, were VERY good. The price, very fair!

It is a very nice Dutch restaurant in terminal D just beside the escalator. The food is freshly made very good they have a brunch style breakfast and a brunch style lunch which are quite good. The prices are quite reasonable knowing you are at the airport the service is a little slow so this is a restaurant just for when you have time it takes at least 30 min. The place is beautiful nice chairs vintage decoration. The bar has a nice ambience it is located just beside the planes. The Ceasar salad is high recommended by far my favorite dish together with the tomato soup. A good and relaxing place I love their "terrace" it is an oasis in the middle of hectic and busy Shipchol airport.

Sarcastic humor of the chef, making is hard for a Dutchman to reach his mustard.

Perfect beer and good bitterballs, a Dutch delicacy, for those who are not addicted. No they are not white and you don't smoke them!!! Although the waiter or chef could have. Very simple big balls in a small mustard container won't fit!! There is nothing strange at that!! Admitted, excluding the sarcastic humor of leaving a Dutchman without his mustard due to the small container, everything is good. But please give the kitchen some basic lessons in physics!!

Nice cozy sit down restaurant/bar next to the escalators to the upper D gate. French type cafe. Food cooked fresh and you can even watch the chef prepare your order.

    Nice atmosphere

The Haarlemse Lamburger is a fine one. The fries are also good. I just wished they'd serve it with ketchup. Why one has to ask for ketchup? Should be free ;)

Order the swordfish special if you can it's really great

We went on a weekend when they exclusively serve their famous apple pie, and while the lines can get pretty long, ours actually moved very quickly. The setup is a bit of a hustle: you order at the counter, pay, and then have to hunt for a table (they have seating indoors and outdoors) while balancing your food. Finding an open spot can definitely be a challenge, but we got incredibly lucky and snagged a seat at a communal table right as our plates were handed to us. Logistics aside, the pie is entirely worth it. It's honestly one of the best I've ever had. The crust is beautifully buttery and crumbly, and the warm apples have the absolute perfect texture--a brilliant balance of sweet and tart. It's not overly sweet on its own, but with a generous mountain of whipped cream and a hot coffee, it made for a wonderfully rich afternoon snack. I know a lot of people rave about their chocolate milk too, but the coffee pairing was exactly what we needed. Highly recommend braving the line for this!

It was quite crowded when I arrived but I was still able to find a seat in the lower level for my laptop and I. The music was a little loud for my taste, but I popped in my headphones which helped. I first ordered an iced cappuccino, which tasted great, but the serving glass was very small, so I ended up ordering another drink, the cappuccino caramel crumble, which came with a lot of sweet cream and chocolate chips on top! Friendly service and free wifi, but I don't think I would come back to study. Note: they do not accept Visa!

The cafe recently opened near the Hoofddorplein and is already getting very popular with the locals. I totally get why, since Bert makes a delicious coffee and is also a very cool guy who is in for a little chat. The good reputation of their Antwerp location also does not hurt at all. Antwerp location? Well yes, Caffènation is a much loved coffeeshop in Antwerp. We are very lucky that Bert fell in serious love with a Dutch girl because that is what brought him here! And now he owns the Caffènation location here in Ansterdam. Cool stuff right? Coffee lovers will really enjoy the big drinks menu at this place which offers a lot of different choices like cappuccino and espresso but also more adventurous drinks like a 'Ginger Spice' or a 'Bitter Moon'. Last few times I went with a flat white (like usual, they are my favorite!) and that tasted great. The space is quite big and has a lot of cosy spots to sit. You can even come over with a group of friends since in the downstairs area are a lot of seats. Great right?! Not so crowded like most city center spots and a way nicer and more personal vibe. I can imagine this place would do great for working or studying as well. Just go soon because i'm sure this place be discovered by the big crowds soon!
