Just got home from last min. appointment with Dr. Neshat. Super impressed with the old school feeling atmosphere and the doctor is just lovely and gentle. It's not flashy/fancy, which is fine by me, coming off the heels of flashy/fancy, who overcharged me by $1500 and kept trying to pull the wrong tooth. Having exhausted all of my benefits at flashy/fancy for the year, I was bracing myself for a huge bill, but was pleasantly surprised when I checked out. They will waste your time! Dr. Rezai's office has very poor time management skills, I arrived on a scheduled appointment and had to wait over 45 minutes while she worked on a "last minute" patient. When she finally got to me, I was told there was not enough time to complete my two fillings, as they have another patient waiting. On another appointment, she was hesitant to do a filling we had discussed prior, including on phone the previous week when she set up my appointment. I moved to the East Bay a little over a year ago and have seen Dr. Rezai three times for regular cleanings. Unlike most dentists I have gone to in my life, the cleaning is not done by a dental hygienist -- Dr. Rezai does it herself. During the cleaning, she frequently asks if I'm doing okay, as she wants to make sure she is not causing any pain. The only room for improvement that I can think of is in phone communication. On one or two occasions, I have left a voicemail to try to schedule an appointment and didn't hear back, so I had to call again. Teeth are important, so when I find a dentist I like in a new city I have moved to, it feels like a big accomplishment. If you live or work in Oakland and are looking for a dentist, I would absolutely recommend Dr. Rezai. read more

I do still think timing is an issue; she was 50min late for my recent cleaning, 40min late st last year's cleaning, about 15-20min late the previous cleaning. I'm glad that I found Dr. Rezai. I called for an appointment and got lucky as they had a cancelation. I got to see her the day I called. Hooray! Dr. Rezai and her team were really friendly. I have type 1 diabetes, so I'd avoided dental checkups during Covid just to be extra careful. Prior to Covid, I was a 2x-a-year dental visit person. I need a deep cleaning, and she got me scheduled a couple of days later. She did both the cleaning and the deep cleaning. I ended up having a cleaning and full-mouth X-ray and assessment, which she does at a discount. She was gentle, thorough, very friendly and personable and very competent! I felt I was in great hands! This dentist practices disability discrimination because I asked if someone could give me a steady hand when I transferred from my wheelchair. She said I had to bring my own helper. She is amazing. * Upon entering the space, the front lobby is clean and tidy with comfortable chairs, and her staff is always welcoming and prompt. I have never waited more than 5 mins to be seen. Dr. Rezai's consulations are honest and fair and I really appreciate how she takes the time to explain your options and make you feel heard. Truly so kind and professional, through and through. In my past dentist experiences it was common to wait 30 mins + past my appt time, and often a cleaning takes close to an hour. No ma'am thats not how Dr. Rezai rolls. She is thorough and efficient, leaving my teeth feeling fantastic, without keeping you there any longer than necessary. Bonus points for providing sunglasses for her patients so you dont hurt your eyes being so close to her lighted head gear :') Never had an office do that before and it made the whole experience just a little more comfortable. Your chair faces a big open window overlooking some trees and greenery which is always pleasant. Heads up there is only metered street parking available (cash or card accepted on the meter), but I have always found a spot pretty quickly for mid-day appts. But do plan accordingly and allow a few extra minutes. I commute 45 min+ to come see Dr. Rezai and I will continue to do so for the amazing service, cleaniness, professionalism and fair pricing. I received dental care from this dentist last year with Medi-cal dental or denti-cal and it was a good experience. The cleaning was thorough and my gum health was checked. For those who don't know, Medi-cal dental only covers one cleaning a year, rather than 2 cleanings most insurances cover. And so I tried to schedule an appointment the other day through e-mail like I did last time. They replied asking what insurance I had, and stopped responding after telling them I had Medi-cal, even after following up with them. It feels pretty bad to be discriminated against for having the state's insurance, and it's unfortunate that they don't accept us as patients anymore. read more

When I got a call back I was asked what the situation was, how they broke their teeth etc. AS SOON AS I SAID my partner has denti-cal/medi-cal, the woman's tone changed to "umm we don't have availability today, sorry!..." Waited for her to tell me another day they had available... Crickets. Then she asked to take my name and number to call me back after checking availability. Didn't you just call me? Didn't you get my name and number from your colleague? I had my first teeth cleaning, dental work, and mouthguard fitting this past month with Dr. Rezai and her staff. Fantastic experience overall, starting with her front office, who squeezed me in for an appointment due to a potentially worrisome dental situation, to the excellent work performed by Dr. Rezai and her assistants. I appreciate her close attention to detail and the way she talks through every step of each procedure so you know exactly what's going on. It might sound trite, but I've had some questionable, if not quacky dentists in the past - and I did not get that vibe at all here. Not to mention that I am a total n00b when it comes to dentistry. I've been cavity-free with no dental issues for most of my life, so when something comes up, I get all skeptical and question everything. Without being super chatty (which is just fine with me), Dr. Rezai does a great job to make me feel relaxed and at ease. Regarding covid safety protocol: The office is ventilated with waiting space out in the hall, if needed, along with air purifiers running. Everyone seemed to take careful covid precautions with PPE, sanitizer, and such. I mentioned that I was fully vaccinated, but they didn't use that as an excuse to let their guard down. read more

Dr Rezai is a great dentist. She was thorough with my examination and cleaned my teeth really well. I am to follow up next week with her. Only complaint are the X-rays so this review is specifically for the dental assistant. I took X-rays from another dentist last year from LA and they asked me to take X-rays again this year. I was expecting around 7 X-rays but ended up being around 15 X-rays which usually wouldn't bother me, BUT the process HURT! The dental assistant made taking X-rays more painful than it should have been such that I was on the brink of tearing up. I didn't even bite down hard but the tech kept insisting to close my teeth all the way down and repeating the films. For the following week and even now, I had and have canker sores all along my gums where the teeth meet and where the film ran (where I never get canker sores ). Sure, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt whether he's new or inexperienced therefore 3 stars for the dental assistant. read more

My dentist retired and I was referred to DDS. Nina Rezai and I'm very happy he did. Nina is very thorough at her job. She takes the time needed to do a great job. I like the way she checks in with me to make sure that I'm not in pain. She also has a calmness about her thats very assuring and takes time to answer my questions whether in the waiting room if she happens to be there at the time or while working on me. I enjoy Nina's staff because they are very friendly and supportive and I like the waiting room as there is jazz quietly paying in the background which makes one feel relaxed as well feeling good to be there. I cannot say enough about Dr. Rezai ! I called so many dentists to see me on a Sunday after I fell and chipped my front tooth . It looked so bad and I was scared . She saw me right away and eased my anxiety. I left having a tooth ! Two days later she saw me again after I felt like it was noticeable and my own dentist refused to polish it because " it wasn't her work ." She was empathetic and told me it was more of the trauma than it being noticeable . She worked on it anyway to help my paranoia of feeling like my teeth were off. I really wish my insurance was covered by her but honestly if I have to pay out of pocket for anything I will return to her . Dr. Rezai is my new dentist. Did I mention I hate dentists? I hadn't seen a dentist in awhile (not good) but Dr. Rezai and her team have helped me to smile again. Her assistant Shazi is so kind and patient. I told them once I almost grabbed a dentist by the neck (reflex reaction) when I saw smoke coming out of my mouth from a drill. Shazi always says, "Don't worry, you'll be fine, we got you." Dr. Rezai recommended a gold crown to cover a partially cracked tooth. The condition prevented me from chewing properly for a couple of years. She worked patiently and even had me come back in to make sure the crown fit properly and I could chew without discomfort. They also recently whitened my teeth which has got me smiling again. I know, when you feel good, you look good. Dental hygiene is never fun, but it's important to work with a dentist that considers your needs and works with you to restore your dental health. She's a keeper! read more

I was charged a $155 dollar copay for a cleaning, without being told beforehand, even though I have comprehensive dental insurance with Delta Dental. Additionally, I was told that the cleaning has to be done in two sessions, each with a separate copay. When I complained, I was told that my cleaning was special, but that I would get a refund. I called Dr. Rezai's office at noon on a Saturday and she was able to see me within a half hour. I was concerned that I had a cavity and I was going to be out of town for 5 days, so I was scared it was going to get worse. Once there, her dental hygienist was pleasant and efficient. After some quick x-rays and quick examining to alleviate my concerns, they let me know it wasn't a cavity- just staining from braces I had as a child. And soon I was out the door.
