I have always loved waffles, so when my friends told me there is a great waffle bar I should try, I went right after. As soon as you walk into Nero's door, you see waffles, looking fresh and tasty in the cabinet. I choose rudolf because it has ice cream on top, however ice cream became the only thing that is a bit disappointing, it's very icy and not creamy at all. I'm giving this location 5-stars because they do not go light on their toppings compared to the other Neros location. This place is by far one of the best places to get sweet waffles. I always get the Brisilienne or the Banana Nutella.. So good. Beautiful presentation of the food - all the waffles I saw were definitely "insta" worthy. However I found my dish to be just okay. I ordered the savoury baked Brie waffle. It's a weird complaint but there was too much Brie. They give you an entire wheel of cheese which is too much and overpowering. I also didn't enjoy the pieces of crispy prosciutto, would have preferred fresh. If I return I'll definitely order a sweet waffle as I think those are the safer option here. read more

Nice place for dessert. Very witty menu with waffles either sweet or savory. You can also have a cocktail with it. Which is a major plus. Very friendly crew. Hospitality and service is unique. I personally loved my SMOKED SALMON waffle, brussels waffle topped with smoked salmon, dill and lemon yogurt, spring greens, cucumber, and pickled red onion. I just loved the balance of smoked salmon with greens, dill lemon yogurt, and cucumber. The pickled red onion was an excellent touch to make every bite of the dish much more refreshing. The waffle was made in-house and freshly baked so it was crispy outside but light and soft inside. It was great! The sweet waffle FRUITY, had so many fresh seasonal fruits topping with their delicious whipped cream. Honestly, their whipped cream is like the bomb! The staff is very friendly .. the out door area is nice on a sunny day. You should know that some of the savory waffles are only served until 3pm. I ordered the banana waffle it tasted awesome! Today my sister and I shared the Brésilienne Brussels waffle with ice cream and it was DELICIOUS. This was my first time in Canada and I had found Nero using Yelp and was excited to try it! Everything about the waffle was perfect... the combination of the ice cream with the crispy waffle was to die for. Also, some treats are too sickly sweet but this one was not! We liked it so much that we each bought one of the mini waffles... I got the vanilla custard donut and she got the speculoos one... so good!!! Their new location on Seymour Street has a larger dining area and patio, cute window-side booths, and a selection of cocktails and Belgian beers. I decided to order the Smoked Salmon Brussels Waffle ($10.90), which is a large plate full of smoked sockeye salmon, dill mascarpone, marinated red onion, and thinly sliced cucumbers. The plate was absolutely gorgeous and just as delicious! I will definitely be back for just this plate alone. Two of my friends ordered the Rocket Brussels Waffle ($9), which is an equally large plate with havarti cheese, arugula, grape tomatoes, a soft boiled egg, and grain mustard. They both loved the freshness and flavour, and can't wait to be back. We didn't realize the plates would be so filling, so we had also ordered 7 of their mini liege waffles ($14.29) to try different flavours. You can choose whichever flavours you want to make up your 7. I highly highly recommend checking out the newly-opened Nero Belgian Waffle Bar if you're in Yaletown. Super delicious waffles! I came here with a friend and we ordered some waffles with ice cream and nuts . The waffles were so fresh and truly the highlight of the dish. I've been too many waffle places and most of the waffles are stale and not very fresh, but this was clearly recently made and it had a delicious crispy edge with a soft inside. The place is also very cozy and I love how there is some water on the side to wash down the sweetness of the food. The dessert is also not as sweet as one may thing, which is nice as well. Much preferred the liege waffles, which I was surprised by - these aren't really your standard liege waffles. The best was the vanilla custard, which we actually got for free. Definitely stop by Nero if you're ever in Vancouver! Even if you aren't hungry you can get the mini liege waffles on the go. I usually always grab some to bring back home for my girlfriend. I recommend getting the vanilla filled forsure but I also like the matcha and the almond. They have such a good chewy texture not just like your regular waffle batter. This new location is so much bigger than their Robson location. We went there at around 1pm on the weekend and it was quite empty. There was seating available inside or on the patio but we decided to sit inside. It was a little stuffy and warm so would be nice if they can turn up the ac. Presentation for the food was fantastic but I just felt like something was missing in terms of flavour . We ordered the smoked salmon Brussels waffle and a honey mascarpone liege waffle. I have been to both locations of Nero multiple times for brunch so here's a summary of my favourite items from their menu. The Robson location is a hole in a wall spot but with fresh waffles made right in front of your eyes. My favourite would be chocolate orange flavour. The seating is limited so you may have to wait if you want to sit down to enjoy these waffles. The Yaletown location has a nice ambience with booth style seating. They have a similar menu with a few more savoury options and the salmon cream cheese one is another one I like. Overall both locations are central with friendly staff and I'll be back to try more of these delicious waffles. read more

First off, I believe it is because of covid protocols but when you want to order for take out, they make you wait outside. However, it was sprinkling and there was no umbrella or shade put up to protect customers. I was visiting the area, but even locals were confused about the whole process of ordering. People were waiting outside hesitant about whether they open the door or if workers came out to them because there was no signage at all. While I was waiting for my order, one girl asked me what she was supposed to do and I replied, "Well you just have to wait." And we both annoyingly nodded our heads and laughed. After waiting for my order in the cold and instructing a few local customers on what they had to do, (awkwardly wait for someone to come outside to help them,) I received the London fog I ordered and the strawberry waffle as well as the banana crème brûlée waffle. After bringing it back to the room it was still somewhat warm. I was shocked at how much I hated the waffle texture. You can choose your texture and I chose the softer one but was surprised to feel such crispy edges. Very odd. My boyfriend complained that the crème brûlée got stuck in his teeth and he could barely finish his breakfast. I didn't even finish mine. The strawberry compote was so bland and the syrup that came with it was more like a flavorless jam. Just a very flat waffle with no flavor and awful texture. Not a fan. read more
