The 4 movers used a "Beam Lift" to move 300 lb. pieces of furniture in/out of a loft with a narrow spiral Staircase. Other movers declined the job because this was too challenging for them. Doug refused to talk to us. An increase of 80% deserves an apology and at least a discussion for underbidding (Two other companies had higher bids. Now we've hired them to do all of the interior painting in our house! I've got a running punch list now of projects for Steve and the team. He said his company is more expensive than others, and his staff speaks English. We asked for an estimate for some work, and advised we were going to get a few others. He said to show him the other estimates and then he would consider if he could beat their prices and do the work. He said his company is very busy, and selective about the jobs they choose. I think he was just looking for $$$. He never sent an estimate, and when I followed up with him about it, he said, "I thought you were going to send me the other estimates, so I could see if we could beat their price." I think he wasted our time, and felt we wasted his. I did not think this was good customer service at all. Their work may be great, but you cannot be so dismissive to potential customers.

Originally, I left a 5-star review because John installed two toilets for us at a reasonable price…read more He did forget to caulk them, but he immediately came back and fixed the oversight. Unfortunately, one of the toilets has never functioned properly--it constantly runs and struggles to flush. Despite John returning several times, the problem was never resolved. We later hired John for other odd jobs, including installing a garbage disposal and fixing water backup into our dishwasher. As always, he was punctual and friendly. However, the garbage disposal was installed incorrectly, which caused new problems. He also accidentally caused some minor floor barrier damage while working in that area. To his credit, he offered to repair the damage right away, but I declined because I appreciated his willingness to help. The next day, when the water backup issue continued, we called him back. To our surprise, he asked for MORE money to revisit the SAME problem he had originally been paid to fix. Even after paying again, the issue still wasn't fixed. We ultimately had to hire another company, who immediately discovered that John had not removed the knockout plug or connected the dishwasher properly--something very basic for that type of installation. Overall, while John is personable and punctual, I cannot recommend him due to repeated problems, additional charges for unresolved issues, and ultimately needing to pay another professional to correct mistakes. Seems like an overall good guy trying to make a living but he needs to take his customers into better consideration if he would like to keep them.
