Do not hire him. It's hard to get him to show up. He wanted advance money to do my baseboards. I gave him $200. He came and measured (we were his helper to measure the baseboards btw). This was on a Friday. He was supposed to buy baseboards over the weekend and paint them and then install on Monday. It lightly snowed on Monday and he didn't show up. Then Tuesday came and he didn't show up and wouldn't answer texts either. He said he was gonna show up on Wednesday. When I confirmed again, he said it was too stressful and he wasn't gonna do the job and kept the $200. Bad faith dealing. I wanted to give him a chance despite his bad reviews but he totally messed up and kept the $200. He said that was the price for measuring! Do not hire him and save yourself a lot of anguish. I needed a handyman to help replace lightbulbs in my 26 foot tall ceilings the week of Fourth of July. Initially, Dwayne was super responsive, giving me his availability and telling me that he could get the job done. We agreed that he would give me an appointment time closer to July 2nd to tell me when he planned to come to the house. I hadn't heard anything by July 1st so I texted him. Heard back a day later (July 2nd) saying he would come by at 9am on July 3rd and then would be on his way to leave the area for three days. It is currently 9:48am. At 9:33am, Dwayne texted saying he wasn't going to make it as his other jobs in the area "dropped out." No apology whatsoever. He tells me this over thirty minutes after he was supposed to be here. I understand it's a holiday weekend but don't contact me about not showing up thirty minutes later than your arrival time. You booked this appointment with me and I could have scheduled something with someone else if you were upfront about your schedule. I called Dwyane about a running toilet issue that my tenant in Truckee had reported. Even though he's based in Reno and the weather wasn't great, he immediately offered to head to my unit the same day to fix the problem. His quote was very reasonable, so I accepted and put my tenant in touch with him to coordinate the repair. To my surprise, shortly after we hung up, I received a text from both Dwyane and my tenant letting me know the issue was already resolved. Instead of making an unnecessary trip, Dwyane had asked my tenant to send him a picture of the inside of the tank.
