We came here after the funeral service for lunch. We had two tables of around 13-14 people. One of the floor staff there doesn't look that happy that we are sharing a 10 person meal and insisted that we order more food. We did order more food but also ended up packing some home as none of us are big eaters and most of the people there are one their 70s and 80s. The food tastes solid. Solid dim sum place inside Station Square, on the 2nd floor. Parking is available in the lot beneath the structure, as well as a multistory lot in the adjacent building to the N (beneath the condo towers). The interior is very classy and modern. Staff are fast and professional. No complaints. The menu has lots of pretty little pictures. Definitely helps with order for those who are unfamiliar. Special mention. The dim sum is pretty good quality. Everything I tried was good. They also have quite a few cute dessert items which are good for taking photos. Came here with a friend for lunch on a Sunday. I managed to get a table for 2 within 10 mins wait which wasn't bad at all. Dim sum selection was ok here. They have very standard dimsum. Neptune has many locations. Their dim sum is nothing special. Each basket averages around $10. We ordered 4 items and it came to around $54 with tea sitting fee and tips. We got shrimp dumpling, shaomai, beef balls and shrimp cake. The the dim sum was pretty mediocre. The place was very busy when we showed up. decor of the place was pretty nice. Came here for the first time at any of their chain of restaurants with my extended family for a late dinner on Christmas Eve. The place was very busy but we managed to get a table right away. The dishes are around $30 each so its on the pricey side. The food overall was pretty good, not amazing, but i'm not sure if it's $30 good. I'm sure there are places where you can get similar tasting dishes for less elsewhere. We ordered yang chow fried rice, deep fried fish fillet with sweet and sour sauce, stir fried rice noodle with beef, and house special fried noodle. They were all better than average for sure. Everything had enough seasoning and a lot of flavors, and the portions were fair. Next time I will try ordering what other yelpers recommend in their reviews because some of the other dishes looked more delicious and unique than what we got. I'm not sure if this was included automatically with every meal, but at the tail end of our meal, our server gave desserts. We got bowls of red bean dessert and deep fried chinese custard sesame balls. They were also pretty good. Service wise, when it gets busy, sometimes its hard to find a server so you have to wave them over when they happen to come to your area. They don't really come around to your table and check to see if everything is alright so you'll likely have to get their attention. Our server was friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for our dishes to come. Washrooms are in an interesting area because you have to walk pass the dirty dishes collection area at the very back. The urinals in the mens washroom are very close to the sinks so it's awkward when a person is using it while you're using the sink. The washroom felt a little small when a few other people are inside. It could use an upgrade for sure. On the other hand, the dining area is fancy, big, and has good views of the metrotown area down below. It's nice enough for a wedding banquet. High Ceiling chandeliers and white clothed tables and plush fabric chairs. It was clean. Ambience wise, It was loud but not too loud so you won't have to yell over the table too much. 3.5 stars out of 5 stars rounded up to 4 since i can't do half stars, based on this visit. Based on the food alone, Neptune seafood restaurant in Burnaby is a more than decent choice for Chinese cuisine. Go for it! Great Chinese Food and Excellent Service! My friends and I came from Seattle, and we had no idea which restaurants in the area were good. We searched on Google Maps and saw some food photos from other reviews that caught our attention, so we decided to try this place. A pretty okay place for dim sum and they have a lot of fun shaped buns and dumplings if you're looking for a novelty factor! However, it's super busy here. We came as a group of 6. We ordered some dishes off the menu that had pictures showing six pieces of dim sum (I.e. the xiao long bao), only for it to arrive as a steamer of 5 pieces. We inquired into it and was told that the pictures are just for references and doesn't 100% display what you'll get. A little disappointed since we made some ordering decisions hoping our table of 6 would each get 1 of the items. Would definitely return often with family/friends as I appreciate their attentive service and late lunch dim sum hour, ending at 3pm with last order for foods around 230pm. We ordered our usual beef balls and steamed rice roll. I enjoyed their rice roll made with purple rice. For dessert, we ordered the cute teddy bear mousse pudding plus their durian pancakes dessert crepes. Mom's usual winter favorite dish, braised pork knuckles with ginger(豬腳薑), was yummy, the ginger tasted sweet here. Used to come here for their bbq dishes. After renovations and updated menus, I now enjoy this as a nice dim sum option in Burnaby. This restaurant has been at Metrotown for some time and we've been there for quite a few times. Tonight we booked a table for 8 people celebrating our youngest granddaughter for her 2 years old birthday. We ordered a few expensive dishes but with horrendous disappointment. Let's begin with Peking Duck: it was cold when served at the table and duck skin was cut from the duck end oily and disgusting. The pan cakes should be served hot after the duck skin was cut and served yet they put the pan cakes on the table first until the skin is served and both were cold. Another dish was lobster with noddles yet the lobster was first dip fried then add the gravy on it! The beef with Chinese broccoli yet the vegetable was not well cooked. We paid more than 400 dollars plus 20% tipping but no enjoyment at all. This would be our last meal at this restaurant never again!!! read more

The wait was long and the food was average. They served the rice last. We were not happy with the service and we wanted to put less tip but there were no options for it. The lady at front desk was saying that we can't do no tip and so I asked why do I need to tip when I wasn't happy with the service. They were playing Rudolph the red nose reindeer on loop about 20 times until someone finally turned it off. We went for dinner a few days ago, and ordered Don Gua soup, 8-treasure duck, sweet and sour pork chop, gai-lan with fish, rock fish plate. The Don Gua soup has no taste, I think they cooked the soup separately and the ingredients were not absorbed into the Don Gua/melon. The rock fish plate was super salty. The sweet and sour pork chop was just ok, i had better ones almost anywhere. The 8-treasure duck was tasteless with too much fillings and not totally absorbed into the duck, the duck was boiled to a point of no taste. Even a simple fish of gai-lan and fish was too oily. We spent a few hundred dollars and got below par food. read more

I was visiting family in Vancouver for the first time and they said that dim sim here would be good so I came here for my dim sum fix. The food was pretty good. Some dishes tasted a little different to the dishes back in California. The marinade for the chicken feet here was definitely different from the ones I'm used to back at home. It was nice but different. The portion sizes were also much bigger than I anticipated. I would definitely come back here for dim sum. Unfortunately I didn't get too many pictures of the food because everyone started eating them before I could capture a picture of the food but that's a good sign that the food was being thoroughly enjoyed. Food were good but were a bit pricy. Love the mushroom shape of those steamed buns! The steamed purple rice rolls were not bad either but I felt that the purple rice at the out layer was a bit soggy for me. The sleepy teddy moose was cute! Its sweetness was just right. It's give us a solid 4.5 stars! Service overall is good, some are a little cold if not impatient but most staff are friendly and attentive. Clean place and not as loud as the other Neptune Seafood Restaurant. Parking lot right outside but usually extremely packed but you can park at Metrotown (close to superstore) and walk over. Skytrain and bus stops just across the street. Usually not too long of a wait but reservations are always welcomed. Delicious food and a few cute dishes too. A bit more option than Coquitlam Neptune but less than Surrey Neptune. Quality and freshness wise, this one tops Surrey and Coquitlam. Surrey is DELICIOUS but because it's so busy and such a big restaurant, customers are so loud, staffs are impatient and food are heavier and more oil. The Coquitlam one staffs are nice but food is mediocre and not as fresh. Haven't tried the one in Richmond but so far this is my favourite Neptune (and it's one of my favourite dim sum place), second is the Surrey location and DON'T waste your money on the Coquitlam location. Don't you just like it when you go to a restaurant, it's crowded and the atmosphere makes you think that it's going to be a good experience, well that's how I felt when I went to Neptune around 11:30am. We ordered the Baked Seafood Fried Rice, Fried E-Fu Noodle Dish, Pan Fried Turnip Cake and the Steamed Purple Rice Rolls, it also came with Milk Tea and Corn Soup. All of the items were good although some say the tea was a bit on the soft side and the food could've been a bit hotter but in the end I left with a happy belly. I'll let you judge the price, but unsurprisingly the cost has increased, this restaurant served its purpose and I know for sure that I will be going back one of these days. read more

Food was ok but the portion sizes were ridiculous for the price! I went for dim sum with my husband and 2 year old and we ordered some larger (what we thought were larger dishes). The pan fried soy sauce rice rolls.... $17 for 10 small pieces with lots of bean sprouts underneath to make it look bigger. The deep fried squid was also $17 and it came out on a side dish with 8 pieces of squid. One leg = one piece! Our bill came out to $150 including tip and it was def not worth it! We didn't even get any of the fancy "cute" dishes. We just got the reg dim sum. They also have no idea what a reservation means. When you make the reso and go to speak to the hostess all they do is take your name off the reso list and add it to the bottom of the table list. It would be exactly the same to just walk in and add your name yourself so don't bother making a reservation. read more

Had dinner there last night. The staff seemed a bit inexperienced and slow while the restaurant was not busy at all. We waited at least 20 minutes before anything were served even though they could have served the appetizer-type cold dishes much sooner. Then all dishes came at the same time but most of them were just lukewarm. One would expect piping hot (out of the wok) dishes. The taste was average but most dishes were pricy. Then they forgot this dish and that dish and we had to remind them of what we'd ordered. The most unpleasant thing was when we checked the bill and found that they'd overcharged us by at least $100. Upon questioning, they were argumentative, would not admit their mistakes and then in the end, we were given some lame excuses... Overall, we would not recommend this place. read more

The star I gave is for the exceptional customer service. I ordered two dishes to go today. First dish is Braised Efu Noodles , it was bland as if it was made for diabetic patient.
