I wanted to get wine from the happy hour menu but the only red is a little too light for my taste, so I went with the server's recommendation and got the $18 a glass of Syrah. Delicious but I would go with a martini for happy hour next time. I tasted my friend's and it was delish! The only food we had was the bread basket with olives and we ended up ordering 2 because the first one was warm and delicious and didn't last long. The beets seemed to be popular as did the happy hour grilled cheese. I am so thrilled to have a great cocktail bar in south Boulder - I will definitely be returning and can't wait to hear the live music.

The ambiance is 1/1 and you will not find anything else like it anywhere. There is just simply too much culture and history here. The drinks are all fairly priced and the service was extremely quick (they were well staffed to manage the amount of people present the night I went). Aside from the bar aspect, Dark Horse also has a kitchen that you can order food from! Everything I have tried over the years has been great, but this personally is my favorite place to order Rocky Mountain oysters! If you haven't tried them, 100% give them a shot! It was karaoke night when I went, but during the football season Dark Horse will host CU Boulder Football watch parties. Such a fun local spot, please support them and enjoy your night here! I've been here a few times over the last couple years, and it's become a go-to for me in the area. I'm a sucker for a good Mai Tai. And boy oh boy, they make a great one here. Definitely ones of the standouts on the classic cocktail menu. Flip the menu around and you'll find unique original drinks. For the classics, stick with Mai Tai, Jungle Bird, Saturn, or Piña Colada. We came here after an event where there was appetizers, so we didn't want to commit to entrées. Jungle has a nice selection of tropical appetizers, burgers, chicken tenders, fish tacos, etc. This was my first time eating here. We ordered the ceviche and nachos. Ceviche was very sweet due to the passion fruit (actually way too sweet) but I appreciated the execution of the shrimp, lime, and other ingredients. The nachos were solid with a white queso. A fancier/island take on a bar staple. Wouldn't run back for either personally, just my preference! We sat on the patio and service was prompt and friendly. I would like to sit inside one day, keep in mind close to half the seating is outside the actual bar. But on a beautiful night in Boulder, it's a great place to be. Definitely recommend Jungle.
