I ordered the Singapore Mixed Noodles, while my friends went with the Singapore Fried Rice and General Tso Chicken. Every dish came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The General Tso's sauce wasn't quite what I'm used to seeing in the States -- definitely had a different twist -- but my friend who ordered it loved it, so it just comes down to personal taste. My Singapore Mixed Noodles were absolutely delicious, and I really appreciated being able to customize my spice level (a small detail that makes a big difference!). Portion sizes were generous, and we all left with leftovers -- never a bad thing! The server was welcoming, attentive, and super kind, which made the whole experience even better. We came right when they opened, so it was pretty quiet -- just us and one other person (who I think was an employee). It made for a peaceful, relaxed lunch before the rush. Overall, Hakka Khazana is a hidden gem if you're craving flavorful Indo-Chinese food with great service and portions that don't disappoint. Definitely worth checking out!

All the food items turned out to be excellent and enjoyable. Portions are generous, and they really take pride in their food. The quality was very high, and the cuts of meat were flavorful, soft and tasty. Everything was cooked in a unique sauce and mixture of spices. Highly recommended.

Good food, good service and good atmosphere. What else can you ask for?…read more In town on business, a couple of us wanted to check out Himalayan Flames based on reviews we found. We were also looking for vegetarian options for a colleague that I was with. In a cool part of town, Himalayan Flames is right in the middle of a bustling area full of shops and restaurants. On this particular weeknight, the area was fairly busy. There's some parking on the street but there's also a huge parking lot behind the block that Himalayan Flames is on, so go on back there and find a spot. There are signs on the back of the building you guiding you to a back entrance which leads to a number of different businesses. You'll find the entrance to Himalayan Flames towards the front of the building. We were seated right away and began browsing the menu. Not a huge place, but cozy and nicely decorated. Cool vibe. I opted for the Lamb Korma and Garlic Naan bread. Outstanding on both fronts. The Lamb Korma was full of flavor and perfectly spiced for my taste. I forget the spice level options, but go with what you know. Whatever I asked for was perfect. Lamb was tender and tasty. Combine that with the edible scoop that you can make out of the Naan bread and you're set. Would I go back? Without question. I highly recommend giving Himalayan Flames a shot and check out their flavor filled menu with options for everyone. We were impressed and hopefully you will be also.

For lunch, my friend and I split a pani poori appetizer, thali with goat, and chicken jhol momo. Before our appetizer arrived, the server presented us with complimentary bowls of lentil soup. The soup was warm, flavorful, and comforting, perfect for January weather. Next came the pani poori. The little crispy balls were served cold and made for refreshing & tasty treats. They were great on their own and even better when dipped into the accompanying "sour water," which was a bit spicy and equally refreshing (FYI - the sour water is heavy on the cilantro, so if you don't like cilantro, just be aware!). The thali came with an abundance of food, and we enjoyed almost everything on it. The platter came with a few different curries that were all delicious and well-spiced. One of them had a good portion of tender goat, and another had fried cauliflower and potatoes I couldn't get enough of. The thali also came with a scoop of rice. When we were done with the scoop of rice but only halfway done with the curries, the staff was sweet enough to bring us an extra plate of rice to soak up the rest of the curries. The platter also came with a piece of gulab jamun, which was sweet and rich. In addition, the thali came with a small serving of mango achar. I took a bite, and the pickled mango took my tongue on a journey, LOL. First, I got hit with the super saltiness, then the super sourness, and finally the lingering, intense spiciness. I can't say the mango achar was to my liking, but I don't regret trying it! The chicken jhol momo was fantastic as well, and I couldn't get enough of the tender steamed dumplings and that excellent broth!

Nate and I stopped in on our most recent visit to Detroit and had a lovely experience. The space is tucked away but had a surprising amount of outdoor space--we were there in January but I'd love to come back in the summer. We were greeted right away and given a spot near the bar. The menu includes cocktails, lots of wine, and several tasty food options. It was quite busy inside, so it took a bit of time for our server to come over to us, but we weren't in a rush. They had ten cocktails on their list and I tried the bullet proof soul and Nate got the negroni alla perra. The ingredients list for some of the cocktails include things I've never heard of, but at a place like this, I just know it's going to be good. Our drinks were perfectly balanced and very tasty. We also ordered the mortadella sandwich to split--this was delicious. It was pretty messy, but worth it. It was perfectly toasted and full of mortadella. Everything on the menu sounded delicious and I would love to try more of the food options. Can't wait to visit again!

There's artwork, a skatepark, renovated houses, gardens and a church that is now an art gallery. We stopped in to check it out and sat at the bar for a cocktail and snack. The waitstaff were super helpful in explaining everything and we finally picked 2 apps and got drinks. Both were amazing. There were friendly patrons all around and we chatted with other bar admirers. We checked out the coffee shop, Warda, but didn't purchase anything then, but have had several of their desserts since then and they did not disappoint. The atmosphere is wonderful, indoor/outdoor bar, great outside seating - not sure how this will work in the winter? They also have very pretty stone paths with multicolor stones mixed in for a very peaceful beautiful look. It inspired me to add some multicolored stones to my garden! I can't wait to return.
