Two people born in Tibet, who spent years in Tibetan communities in India, brought the food they…read moregrew up with to Metro Atlanta, and survived opening a restaurant just before a global pandemic. It seems like many Atlanta locals are confused about the cuisine differences between Tibet and Nepal, since both have their own versions of momos and thukpa. Tibetan food mostly focuses on warming and nourishing the body, rather than bold spices. While this restaurant doesn't have many of the barley, yak, and mutton based dishes that you would find in Tibet, the beef, veg, and chicken options are still hearty and handmade. While the momos here are wonderfully handmade, the flavors are not as bold as Nepali momos that many compare them to. And, that's okay because they are not meant to be bold. So before criticizing, you may want to check your facts. My favorite momo here are the leaf shape dumplings that even the most skilled dumpling makers have trouble folding. So they are difficult to find, yet shine here on the menu, hidden inside a momo soup dish. The dining room functions as a cultural gateway, thoughtfully decorated with traditional Tibetan prayer flags, mountain landscapes pictures, and sacred symbolic decor.

Lovely first experience at Purnima. I had the vegetable shingara to start. The filling was very…read moremild. Pastry exterior was delicious and of course the chutneys complement the app perfectly. They are very similar to samosas I've had at other spots. I chose the chana begoon as my main. They only have three spice levels. I ordered hot and it delivered. The spice was very evident but didn't overwhelm the other flavors. I love the eggplant and chickpea combo texture-wise. The aromatics rly come through in this dish. I've never had a garlic naan I didn't like. The naan here is lovely and flaky (not stretchy like some I've had previously). It's buttery and almost had a subtle sweetness that I found very pleasant. Our server was kind and patient. My friends and I talked for hours and never felt rushed or hovered over. I'll definitely be back.

I went with my daughter and a friend of hers. We shared garlic naan which was a huge portion. She had the chicken tandoori, her friend had the lam coconut and the soup, and I had the lamb saag poneer which was extraordinary! We also shared the chicken tikka naan which was good, but the garlic naan was better.

We ate here again for the 8-10 time- it's always delicious- fresh , hot food and great service. We…read morereally enjoy coming here. This is the place to come for delicious Indian food. Truly recommend!!

We started coming here a little over a year ago and felt it was a borderline 4 star--cleanliness…read morewas always questionable (constant sticky floors and utensils). We've also started noticing a decline in the food quality; little things they do to cut corners such as extra breading on anything that has breading (like gobi manchurian, chicken lollipops, etc.). All the chicken chunks in their main dishes (chicken tikka masala, chicken biryani, chicken home style curry, etc.) are all cooked until they're hard as rocks and tough as a rubber band ball--basically inedible. The tandoori chicken lying around is fairly dry, with the exception of the drumsticks, but they're all cool/lukewarm. There's also significantly less customers than there used to be, with a Saturday prime lunch time basically crickets and flies--we saw 2 tables in the hour we were there and it was empty when we got there). It's on the lower end of a 3 star now, but I'll give it the 3 due to the flavorful sauces (minus the completely bland home style curry) and the desserts are still pretty good. I hope they stop cutting corners and focus more on food quality, but I think this is our last visit here. We always came here for the tikka masala (my husband's favorite Indian dish) and considering it's inedible...I guess this is it.
