Rotisserie chicken, stuffing, mac & cheese, cornbread
Billy S.

A New London staple! If you live here, you can disregard this review because you probably already know how good it is, and I would just be preaching to the choir. If you're new to the area, though, or just passing through- you need to check this place out asap. I've always loved coming here for a comfort meal, but it wasn't until a family trip to Charleston, SC until I truly appreciated how lucky I was to have Neon Chicken right in my backyard. We visited a restaurant down there that had been getting national coverage for how good their rotisserie chicken was. It had been on famous TV shows and had received plenty of accolades. To be clear, it did live up to the hype! But my family and I all agreed: It's great, but it's not as good as Neon. The service there is impeccable, always fast and friendly. The restaurant itself is very casual, with plenty of seating to enjoy your meal. My go-to order is a breast and thigh plate, mac and cheese, stuffing, and of course a piece of their corn bread. There's nothing that hits the spot quite like it on these chilly winter days.

I'm typing this in my car in the parking lot because I just couldn't wait to rave about this place. These guys are amazing! I think I've found a new favorite spot! The chicken they work with, oh my god, they infuse it with some kind of magic because it's tender and flavorful like you wouldn't believe. It just comes apart, and all I needed on my chicken +LT sandwich was the salt and pepper that came on it. I had a seafood shack in my hometown with a similar thing going on, the fish they had was so fresh and well-cooked that you didn't need any sauce or spices, it spoke for itself. The soup was that absolutely delicious, home made style that warms up your insides and sends your taste buds to heaven. And substantial, too, there wasn't just a few strands of chicken in there, there was abundantly plenty. As I went to go, I asked for a takeout container for the rest of my soup and mentioned I was new In town and loved the experience so much I would be coming back. Not only did they put my soup in a container lickety-split, they topped it off completely full again and welcomed me to the neighborhood. Like I said, amazing.

You have to know where to look if you're looking for this place, the sign is white lettering against a white painted building. I only knew where it was because my colleague pointed it out, and man oh man is it amazing! Succulent, fall of the bone rotisserie chicken, flavorful buffalo sauce and pungent blue cheese dressing, YUM!!! The chicken salad sandwich was filled with moist chicken, just the right amount of mayo and cradled in a bun that is crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. Cannot wait to come back again and try their homemade soda!

Ordered from here for dinner. Got: Turkey breast meal with stuffing with 2 sides. $12.24 BBQ Pork Sandwich $7.25 Per their website; add any side AND drink for $2.99 ^requested this with a coke and Mac and cheese Ordered two sides of cornbread. .95 x 2 = 1.90 Total would be 24.38 plus tax= $25.93 We were charged $27.42 No Mac and cheese in the bag, called got an attitude and was told to come back and get it then she tried to charge us again.......... said that we were not charged for the combo meal.. So then what was I charged for ? Because the pricing is not adding up what's advertised. Disgusted. AND AFTER WE GOT HOME, and had to GO BACK.

What a great meal! Perfect in every way!

OMG! I hit the jackpot! Drove out of my way just because of the Yelp description! Am I glad I did! Had to try the sweet n' sour cabbage and it was amazing! - it was almost like a desert! Everything is hand prepared! I don't know why I never heard of this place before, except I don't get to New London often. The chicken is perfect (twice marinated in healthy stuff!)! The chick soup amazing - just like Mom's. Baked sweet potatoes! And Butternut Squash! All home made! (Really!) The friendly, helpful staff are mostly one family! You must come here for the best meal at great prices.

How did I not know about this place? I must have driven by here lots of times when driving to Fort Trumbull or Captain Scott's. Maybe I never noticed it because it doesn't have fancy outdoor signage like Boston Market or KFC. And that's a good thing. This place isn't a franchise. It's Just a nice casual place to get some home-styled rotisserie chicken, BBQ chicken, and southern styled side items. It's a place any Mom would approve of and it's probably better for you than those those chicken franchises. While it cost a little more than those other places, you won't find any plastic sporks here. You get real chinaware and silverware. It reminds me of something you'd find down below the Mason Dixon line. The process is simple....you order at the counter and seat yourself. No waiter service. There's plenty of tables on the inside and a couple picnic tables on the outside (see my outdoor picture). My meal costs me $13. Both the chicken and side items were great. The staff was really friendly too.

Pulled bbq chicken, mac and cheese, baked beans and the best cornbread I've ever had!

Despite being attached to the Marriott, this restaurant currently feels completely disconnected from any standard of hospitality. The service was the primary issue. While our initial server was adequate, the older server who brought our food was unprofessional. She delivered the wrong meal a wilted Caesar salad and a "goopy" flounder instead of the salmon that had been ordered. She implied it was either our mistake or her colleague's fault. Worse, she took the incorrect dish back but left my short rib on the table. No one offered to keep my meal warm, and by the time my companion's food finally arrived, my dinner was cold. The food itself was "wannabe" high-end, but instead, overpriced Sysco-grade quality. There is potential in the ambiance, but the kitchen and staff are clearly just going through the motions. Besides the breakfast buffet, there are several wonderful breakfast items to select on the menu. I opted for the avocado toast. It was served on grilled sourdough and with thinly sliced radishes. It was perfection. I loved that it arrived with a side salad and dressing. The cucumbers and radishes really made the breakfast pop. Lovely presentation! We also ordered the smoked salmon on a bagel as another b breakfast entree. It was loaded with smoked salmon! If you have breakfast here and have never tried a grilled muffin, order it! We had never heard of a grilled blueberry muffin and had to try it! To say it is delicious is an understatement. The muffin is overflowing with blueberries! They cut it in half and put it onto the grill. The butter and sugars seem to crystallize into one of the best muffins I have ever tasted. Tim was our server was able to help us navigate our options and the items to try during our stay. He was friendly and so very helpful!!

The place is very big, so if you are going with a group or family they have the space. There is a small awkward parking lot in the back, so mostly street parking. Arrived (party of 4) just after 5pm, took a few minutes to be sat, even though the place was empty. One bartender and one waitress. Received two menus and were told to scan the QR code on the table, seemed odd. It took a while to give our order, so we ordered everything at once. Wings, truffle fries to start. Scallop Risotto, Fish& chips, fried shrimp basket and caesar salad with chicken. Drinks arrived minus one because they were out of the whiskey, provided a replacement, but the drink never came to the table. Food was ok. The fried things were very tasty and well made. The wings were nice, tender and good sauce/flavor. Truffle fires were good, little heavy on the truffle oil, but tasty Scallops were prepared well but the "risotto" was more like rice pilaf. The caesar salad was nicely dressed, the added chicken was grill to as close to raw and still be "cooked". It was very soft and chewy - that was pushed to the side. If you go, stick to the bar, brunch, apps, or something fired. I think this place is good if you go when they are fully staffed or something. I would happy choose someplace else if I were in town for a show.

They had the most unusual flavor that I have never experience before at other seafood places. The cake had very few clams and was doughy. Not appealing at all. I managed to take one bite out of one cake and left the rest to be discarded. Two of us ordered lobster rolls. Mine was a "cold" lobster roll. I found a piece of ice in the lobster. For the price of the roll, $32, the amount of lobster was somewhat scant. The mac-n-cheese we ordered was the only highlight of our meal. It was rich and creamy with a wonderful mixture of cheeses.
