This review is about our latest experience at Neehees Troy on 7/29/2023. We had ordered Raj Kachori without yogurt and they served it with yogurt added. When we asked the staff to change the order, they very rude and said we needed to check the order before leaving the counter. Do you note down all tweaks to orders on the receipt? Should we check for any and all tweaks to our order by reading an essay on the counter? We did check for the number of items and their names. How will we know that we have to check for all details? And instead of preparing another order with no yogurt for us, your staff rudely dismissed us and told us we could order another one properly if we didn't want this one! Is politeness too much to ask for from the hospitality industry???? We have been coming to Neehee's for years now and this is the treatment we get? Really really disappointed with this! read more

It's been a while since we have been here but we came to enjoy some authentic indian food. It's buffet style like most are. It's fancy and clean. But it was not a super welcoming environment. The food was good and reasonably priced. We would definitely go back. read more

**Vegetarian Friendly** All the chaat food (street food) you could imagine! The entire menu is vegetarian and there are 100+ options that you'll need 15 minutes just to look at the menu! They have unique combinations which you typically don't find anywhere, such as Kung Pau Tofu and Gobi 65. My recommendation: order multiple dishes, and share! The sandwiches are harder to split, but majority of the menu is easy to share. Can't forget dessert! They carry tons of traditional indian flavor ice creams - but unfortunately, no malai kulfi. read more

Unfortunately the quality of Neehee's has severely decreased in the 3 years since I moved to this area. Firstly, NONE of the staff were wearing masks properly. The cashier (wearing a beanie) didn't have his mask on (it was on his chin) even when he was near food. I saw many people in the back not wearing masks properly either. They were extremely careless and even though I asked, still no one properly wore their masks. It's hilarious that they have a sign mandating that you can't enter without a mask but the staff preparing the food wasn't wearing masks correctly. Secondly, I had ordered two things and they forgot one of the items. Thirdly, the Neehee's special chaat was literally slapped together. It was leaking everywhere and not packed appropriately for take out. I used to really love Neehee's because it's walking distance, but honestly, this was the last straw. read more

We've been going here for years, the food is always fantastic and the service is fast. We eat in or get carryouts. They have sooo much to choose from on their menu/ and everything is delicious. My kids like it too- it's a fun place with delicious food. read more

I like the ambiance here - it's clean unlike a lot of Indian restaurants! The prices are a little on the expensive side but the experience makes up for it. I got the Dosa and Mango Lassi - my go to Indian food and drink! Fast service and clean bathrooms! Try it - you will walk out happy. read more

Overpriced. Left with empty stomach. I ordered a masala dosa, two samosas, and a paneer chili dry. Everything tasted good, but the portion of paneer chili dry was sooooo small. I'm a tiny Asian woman and I took two little children to this restaurant. My total bill was $30.71 but still left with empty stomach. Charging $13.49 for this small vegetarian dish is ridiculous. I'm still wondering if the restaurant might've made a mistake to give me only a half portion, really! read more

Not the best Indian veg fare I've had, but as one of the few veg only and street food spots in the area, it definitely satisfies the craving. Pav bhaji was my favorite and the papdi chaat was good as well. Sadly the bhel puri was soggy and felt like it'd been premade which was disappointing. Even someone with an indian background... it took me at least 10-15 min to decide on what to order. So, you order, pay for the food, they give ypu a buzzer & you get your water for your table. Once buzzer goes off, you go up to the counter to recieve the food. Food: vegan/vegetarian paradise! 1) Gobi Manchurian: I had very high hopes for this dish due to the many reviews on Yelp. But, the dish is doused in sauce and heavily deep friend. The flavor is good, but for the price & quality of taste -- I would not get again. 2) masala dosa: this was very good! Will definetly be back to try their other dosas 3) dhai vada: was stuck between dhai puri vs vada. Decided on the vada... it was OK. Employees are incredibly rude, food is undercooked. The staff gets mad when you ask for extra chutney. This is my second time here and each time I've had a very negative interaction with the lady that works there. She even rolled her eyes at me once? The manager is also completely useless. I'd understand this behavior if it was rush hour but the store was almost empty. Overall very poor experience! I'd recommend going somewhere else that's worth the money because the overpriced garbage here is definitely not worth it. read more

They have an amazing collection of ice creams and some amazing chaat and other South Indian food. We had the gunpowder masala dosa, chole bhatura, bhel poori, mango ice cream and chickoo ice cream. The food tasted good and it wasn't too greasy. It was light on the stomach. Chole bhatura- the bhatura's were soft and the chole masala tasted just like the chole masala I had in Delhi three years ago. Gunpowder masala dosa - the gunpowder wasn't too spicy and it added the perfect amount of flavour to the masala dosa. The potato filling was good and the chutney was thick and yumm. I'm not a fan of sambhar so I did not try it! Bhel poori- this was probably the only dish that let me down. It was missing something. Maybe it needed the right balance of sweet and spicy which was missing. But other than that it was good. My friend did like it. Mango ice cream - the king of fruits is always the best no matter what. This mango ice cream was so good and had a very strong flavour of mango and damn! For a moment it made me feel like I was having fresh mangoes in India during the summers. Chickoo ice cream - if you looks chickoo's or sapota's then you gotta try this. They have really good fruit flavours. Will definitely be visiting this place again. The food is reasonably priced and it's definitely worth the price. Try this place for some good chaat and dosas and finish it off with some ice cream or mango lassi. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ANY COST. Worst Customer Service. We have been going to this place from the time, it was opened. Today's exerience have left a bitter taste. These guys are SERVING COLD STALE food. I had ordered a Masala Dosa at Neehee's today. Dosa was ice cold . I asked the staff to change Dosa. Someone with the name - Prakash started shouting and misbehaving about my complaint. He was threatening and cursing. Staff is rude and arrogant. Ordered dosa. Realized after couple of bites from outside It was almost raw in the middle part. When took it to them to complain- the guy on counter said," why did you eat in the first place if it was raw." Not admitting and very rude. Will never go again to this place. read more

This place was really cool in terms of offerings, but I was very confused by the intensely large menu. It is so hard to pick from a hundred things. I also wish there were photos by different items in the menu to facilitate the selection process. It is a really cool option since they have vegan food. I loved the exterior and interior of this place, they were busy but keeping the line moving. They have done in and take out available, my husband and I did take out so they gave us a buzzer to let us know when our food was ready, didn't take long at all. This was my first take on Indian food so I was a bit nervous but it was delicious not to spicy either my husband Singapore noodles on the other hand was a little more spicy then what he was ready for lol but he said they were still great! Tried this on a suggestion from a friend. Went with another friend that likes trying new places. Wasn't busy when we arrived 520pm on a Wednesday. Service was friendly. Place has a cafeteria vibe to it, might just be me. Food was meh.. our party shared Cut Mirchi and a order of aloo paratha. I ordered something new which I've never had Cheese Pav Bhaji. Overall it was an underwhelming experience but the food was good. Would come back if I was in the area, wouldn't go out of my way for it like I did this time. I love having a place (especially near work) that's ALL vegetarian, so vegan options are really easy to come by. I came around 1230 on a Friday and it was busy but not packed, so it didn't take long to order or get my food. The place is HUGE, so seating wasn't a problem, either. I ordered the Gobi Manchurian and the Samosas. The menu is huge (which is part of why I knocked off a star... It's too much). I read the menu online before going so I wouldn't be rushed when I got there, and I'm really glad I did -- because the menu spans like 8 TVs. It's absolutely massive. The samosas weren't my favorite -- not because they weren't prepared well, but they were just super... Minty? Some sort of herb I couldn't quite place. But they were super crispy and quite big. The Gobi Manchurian, which was like spicy fried cauliflower with peppers and onions, was crispy and delicious. Quite spicy. Yum. The REAL reason I'm knocking off a star is because, in the vastness of the menu, it's hard to tell what's included and what you have to order separately. My entree didn't come with rice, and while looking around, I saw most other people had rice and bread, so maybe it was a memo I didn't get that you order separately OR that it's only included with certain things? I use to be a regular at this place. Since they raised their prices I don't go there a lot. I always had bad experience with their to go order. My daughter like their raj kachori but they always forget to pack one or two items that go with the dish. It's such a disappointment to get home and find things missing. Not up to the expectations, some how the flavors were not to the point Paper Roast was the biggest and batter was not fully cooked, panipuri was ok. I am just stepping out of your Troy restaurant. Your website says the restaurant closes at 10. When I went to the counter to make a second order at 9.45, you refused service and said "only take out". I came back to the table and then walked back to the counter thinking I will take takeout for my very hungry daughter. Your guy said 'no, because 10 pm will be lights out.' "lights out"? Really...was he threatening us to leave? So, pathetic service...absolutely unprofessional. You are in the US...learn the customer service and professionslism of the market you are serving. This place is almost a half hour drive from me but it's so worth it. I had been hearing good things about this place and came in with three others last night. At first glance the menu can look a bit overwhelming or intimidating. Right away someone came out to help us. He was super nice and very friendly. He explained the items we had questions on and made some suggestions. Everything we got was so extremely flavorful and delicious. Nothing wrong with any of the dishes. This place is unique since it's fast casual but it is fantastic. They also make their own ice cream with very unique flavors. That was amazing as well. Five out of five highly recommend.
