Great Vegetarian place. High quality Indian street food. A must visit if you are in Detroit area. If you are in a group, definitely order the bucket of pani poori. I was amazed at the exhaustive menu - all kinds of Dosas, all kinds of Chat, veggie burgers, sandwiches. Food is very well prepared, aromatic and very well presented. The negative is - you will have to order all your food in one shot - including your dessert, and Chai ( which are generally end of the meal items in an Indian setting ). They have no way to keep a tab open and add items. That is not very convenient as it gets very crowded here and you can't afford to stand in line for just a cup of post meal chai. read more

IKEA of Indian Food. Bring a friend. Indian street food translates to Indian Tapas. I was really hungry so ordered M7 Gujarati Thali. I shared my desert and a few other items and was still full. Friendly hostess who helped with the logistics of ordering and the Buzzer. Big Screen TVs make it feel like a cafeteria but that is the appeal of this casual spot. Fresh food and reasonably priced for such excellent quality Returned today for a post-work dinner date with the husband after all the bad reviews. The Gujarati Special Thali was amazing. If the worst thing I can say is the noise level is too loud then my 5rating sticks. The logistics have improved, bathroom is always clean and the food is fresh. Coming back soon read more

We live in Arizona now, so when we come back to see family we always have to make a trip to Neehee's. It's always great!

Yesterday felt like having some chats so my husband brought samosa chole from neehes after gobbling some saw string like thing and it was a tiny spring in the food .. oh thank God I did not give it to my toddler son .. who would have eaten it . how come that spring was in ur kitchen? Really feeling upset about the quality of the food.. Pls eat carefully with ur eyes open .. read more

I love the large selection of creative vegetarian Indian food. And much of what I have tried was absolutely delicious. Portions can be small. But the 3 star rating comes from the overwhelming presence of grease on everything. Even the rice is greasy. A reddish oil is floating a quarter inch thick on everything we tried. And customer service/accommodation still needs a little work. If the added fat/calories from the oil don't bother you, of the 12 or so items we tried, our favorites are: Mini Gujarati Thali (M6), specifically the potato-eggplant curry. With bread, rice and 3 curries it's the best value on the menu for $8.99. Burnt Ginger Fried Rice (R2), I enjoyed the variety of flavors. I was skeptical at first. I'm not a big ginger fan, but it was recommended and I'm glad I listened. I haven't tried the fun variety of ice creams, but I do plan to when I return. When I only gave it 3 stars, why would I return? I haven't had the opportunity to request light/no oil. I'm happy to at least ask. read more

Really enjoyed the food. First time family had Indian cuisine and the staff helped us pick an assortment of 5 dishes. Even let us try a taste of a few things. read more

I like the ambiance and food is also tasty. Vada Pau was bit spicy but manageable. Dosa came out pretty good.

This places continues to impress me over the years. High quality Indian food in a casual setting. Type of stuff we used to have to drive to Toronto for. Very successful chain and I hope they franchise more in the Midwest (seems like they plan on it). If you live in the area, this is a Troy essential! You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. read more

It was good, nothing wow'ed me. Service is great and very clean! I liked the idea of picking an ice cream flavour to mix with my drink

Love love this place for anything india . The quality of food they serve is just fabulous. They know how to make proper indian food . All the chats and homemade ice creams are super delicious. And the mango lassi is the yummiest read more

Very enterprising business. Super clean and organized, mechanized version of Indian cuisine goodness in a fitting and natural midwestern Uncle Bob's style joint. I would at first approach be slightly suspicious because it's too mechanized so it can't be good (fast food associations). But, here is the shizzle- the cuisine is, good. Well made, and executed, a Shang-rila of Indian vegetarian options, family type feel of operations like teenage brothers and sisters working together haptic-ly kind of. Would recommend! read more

Below average food. Super expensive food. Not worth the money. You are actually extra for their fancy carry-out boxes. NOT recommended.

Good quick easy vegetarian Indian food without all the frills or heavy cream of a fancy Indian restaurant. It is a a bit pricey for what you get though. Feels like a home cooked meal. Chaat is really good. The gujarati thali and dosa is good. Gobi 65 is meh. Veg and gobi manchurian have better flavor. Will come back for sure several times to try more stuff off the extensive menu. read more

i was excited about Neehee's opening in Troy! ALAS, this was a bummer. I went there twice and firstly - they did not have everything available mentioned in menu; secondly the manager comes to us and mentioned that it will take 2-30 mins for the food to be served after we place the order and so we returned. Thirdly, we went there yesterday evening at 8:10 PM and the manager was in the parking lot and told us "you need to come earlier to get food here and we cannot help you" and they did not allow us to come inside also. Here is my first impression - service sucks, no empathy for customers, short of staff (typical desi mentality). I cannot comment on the food quality since I did not get a chance to eat at this place till now. I am giving this one star for the manager/owner for being in the parking lot and discouraging his customers :) read more

I think we came to place thrice in a week. My husband and I were visiting my sister from Boston, a city which seriously lacks any Desi food and we lost our minds. The samosa Chaat was unbelievably good, we had sev batata Puri, the hakka noodles, masala dosa, sambar idli, mixed Chaat, neehees special chat, the paneer poppers. Just wish the people at the counter knew something about the food they serve, they weren't really knowledgeable about the ingredients. That's the only reason I'm docking a star. read more

Plenty of options. The service can get quite hectic. Food tastes great. The samosa chat is a staple order. But other chat items are good as well. The icecream options are worth a try. The indian chinese items are average. Have not tried their main dishes yet. read more

Love this place! My husband and I come here a lot and also do take out! I absolutely love it and recommend it to anyone who wants a nice simple Indian meal! read more

I love this place! Not only is the selection huge, but the service is great, too! It was our first time, on a busy Saturday night, and we were overwhelmed with the options. Indian cuisine is a favorite of mine, but I have trouble with the descriptions Not only did the manager notice that I was stuck on my decisions, but he offered suggestions, allowed us to take our time even in a busy line, and even hand delivered our dinner to the table! He circled back around to check on us, and then brought us an extra dish to try- just to make sure we experienced an array of food and left happy! I would recommend this place to anyone who loves Indian food and to those who've never tried it. Thank you Neehee for making our experience great! read more

Food tasted good but was too heavy in a way that irritated my stomach so many hours afterwards. And my stomach does not get irritated easily at all. I enjoyed it while I ate there but the minute I left I didn't feel good at all for the rest of the day. read more

Take out doesn't do this place justice. I ordered take out and everything was soggy when I got home. No crunch to the pani puree or Somosa.

Coming from Chicago I have had my fair share of Indian snack food (especially on Devon). But hands down this is the best that I have ever had!!!! We love the: dahi puri, dahi samosa chaat, masala dosa and chole bhatura!! read more

We went here one week ago and it was not a pleasant visit. We expected relatively quick service - I saw some of the earlier reviews complained about ridiculous wait times after NeeHee's first opened but the more recent reviews indicated that this issue has been resolved. Well, our visit took a total of one and a half hours. The line itself took a good 15 minutes. They decided to train someone during the dinner rush which would have been OK, but the staff was overwhelmed and it seemed like they could have used several more employees. I had the paneer chili gravy with a mango lassi and the boyfriend had the vegetable machurian gravy. The wait was pretty ridiculous for a "fast food" place (again, let me emphasize that we waited ONE AND A HALF HOURS to eat anything). There was nothing to snack on while we waited so we drank water for the remaining one hour and fifteen minutes. When the food finally was ready they forgot my mango lassi. The beverage I eventually received was really warm - not exactly what I'm looking for when I'm drinking yogurt. The food itself was OK. I like that all of these dishes are vegetarian - so there's that, I guess. There is no way to change spice level. I usually order mild-medium at restaurants and the paneer chili gravy was definitely on the medium-high side. Portion sizes were not great for the price. I felt like my dish had few onions with even fewer bell peppers. My boyfriend thought the vegetable manchurian was OK, but still very meager for what you're paying. Basically, NeeHee's has a fast food atmosphere with slower-than-restaurant service and restaurant prices. read more

Good food but a little overpriced. Place is very clean and neat. Efficient kitchen and clean. Menus are overwhelming for non Indian customers. They should provide some help or explanation in selecting items from their menu to their non Indian customers. read more

Thought this place did a great job, overall. We just went there for the first time ever and I have to say it was quite the experience. I didn't really know what to expect and actually tried placing a pick-up / carry-out order which, they don't allow. Not a huge deal. Otherwise, this place was fantastic! When we first walked in we were first blown away by it's sheer size. It felt like an IKEA in restaurant form, whatever that means. Anyways, the line seemed long but, it actually moves quickly and even after placing your order, the food comes up quick. It wasn't too hard to guess that though, they have a massive kitchen staff. And it shows in the quality along with the speed. When we received our food that quickly, I was initially skeptical as too how good it would taste. After the first bite, my worries washed away. The ingredients tasted fresh and the flavors were really on point. I probably could have eaten the entire serving but, wanted to save some for leftovers. That being said, it's a little pricey but, honestly for the quality and speed, I'd still recommend checking this place out. read more

Deliciousness! my husband and I come here on days we aren't eating meat. Each time we come we get something different and are never disappointed. LOTS of GF options which is a rarity! Negative thing is there is so much on the menu so it took us awhile to find our favs! We will definitely be back! Wish they had bottled water (I am weird about that stuff) read more

I am a regular customer at the Canton location and the Troy location is just as great! I received fast, helpful, and friendly service. The restaurant is very large, clean, has a lot of natural light and calm music. My vada pav sandwich was great! I can't wait to come back and try other things! I wish they would add the aloo and paneer paratha to the menu and consider opening a location in downtown Detroit. read more

Rating this based on efficiency and authenticity. I'm a puri lover...their puri and Bhaji reminds me of a visits to my aunt's house in India....so good! The Indian fast food concept here is excellent. Lots to choose from too bad I'm only in town for a short time read more

Do not buy the Hakka noodles. They were literally the worst. Pav bhaji was good. Cut mirchi was also good. (Sorry if I misspelled anything) read more

Look, I just don't get this place. I was willing to look past the awkward ordering scheme and high prices hoping that the food would be delicious. Ordered the kids paneer sandwich, $6.99. It definitely looked appealing, cut into cute little triangles and served on edge. Portion was decent sized too. So far so good. So why the one star? Taste. Salt. I'm talking equine salt lick, salty. I'm talking, hose my tongue down because I might be partially mummified now, salty. I peeled apart to dissect the sandwich, hoping to see a patch of misplaced white - hey maybe someone in the back just had a shaky wrist and overdid the shaker. Nope. It was evenly miserable. That's when I noticed strike two - minimal paneer. Shredded paneer. I'd estimate about a tablespoon or so in total. I rarely ever complain but I asked the nice lady who seated me to intervene in this saltwich. She promptly called the kitchen manager who told me I must be wrong bc they don't add any salt - it's all in the prepared sauces. Seriously? Dude do you think I don't know what mint chutney and fried paneer taste like? They don't taste like ocean water. Then he just stood there hoping I would not be upset enough to write this review. Good job buddy. You got your $6.99. See how many customers you can blow off like this before they stop coming. I didn't eat the rest of the sandwich. And no, before you question my motives I'm not a competing restaurant. I live in another state, just visiting for the weekend (check my profile). read more

Neehee's Troy, Michigan - Indian Near Me - Troy, Michigan

This eye-catching restaurant invited us in with it's bright colors. Inside, you'll find a huge area with plenty of seats for your friends and family. Ordering is quite tricky here, the menu is so big it becomes overwhelming. We must have taken at least 20 minutes trying to figure out what we wanted. The lady taking our order was very nice though, and waited patiently. In the end we ordered the mini guj thali, samosas, pani Puri and extra roti. Everything was pretty spicy, so I recommend getting a mango lassi, which cools it down immediately. All in all, the meal wasn't anything special and didn't stand out. However, to end the day we got ice cream, which was to die for!! I got mava elachi and it was delectable. read more

I like the place and fast food that it serves is most of the times great quality. But the service needs to improve. Last time i was there at 8.15 and about half n hr away from being closed. I placed my order and was waiting for the buzzer to go and it didn't go at all.the staff started wrapping up to close the place down. I was still waiting there to be served. When i went to the kiosk to ask about the food.they said they called for me and then threw away the food. I got the refund but had to go home on empty stomach. read more

The food was cold and service was below average. The manager thought he was owner which was clearly not the right way to act!!! Also collecting the food was a pain In the ass. We had to get our food from the counter multiple times with the stupid buzzer ringing a bunch times. We couldn't eat our food together as a family because we had to get up so much at different times. The system needs to change. Overall I'm very disappointed with Nehees! EVERYONE GO TO SAI SWEETS!!!!!!!!! read more
