This was a smah hit! The concept here is of a food court you order at the front then when buzzed go and pick up. Every chat item was amazing! We ordered everything, vada pav, dahi puti, pani puri, samosa chat, ragda patty, raj kachori, bhel puri, chowmein, honey chilli potato, lassi, lemonade, veg thali with gulab jamun(which sucked) and sheikhand (which rocked) to end with the faluda (ehich was a disgrace). All food and chat items were so delicious and authentic it transported me back to india. The spice levels and masalas were on point. Only downers were the gulad jamnu and the faluda which was just plain BAD. The ambience is pretty chilled out like a no frills restaurant with tv playong indias favorite sport cricket. They have live kitchen counters as well depending on the day you go their. There is ample parking. Do yourself a favor and go check them out if in the area you will not go wrong!

Of u wanna try the almost authentic street food of India this is the place to visit. The service is fast and the ambience s well maintained . Most of their dishes have the taste tht s similar back in India. A nice place to relax and have a good meal with family and friends . Also they have the fresh jelbi counter , hot and tasty .. Indian food is definitely one of my go to cuisines for aromatic and hearty meals. In Canton there is absolutely no shortage of good Indian/Pakistani restaurants due to the sizable South Asian community that calls the city home. Just down the street from my neighborhood is NeeHees, a restaurant chain that claims on its website to be "bringing Indian vegetarian and vegan-friendly street food to America." Based on this it's important to keep in mind they do no serve meat or animal proteins. I think that is a good thing because it really allows us to see what kind of unique and flavorful dishes one can make with vegetables, starches and plenty of fresh herbs/spices. As far as I know they have locations not only in Michigan, but Ohio and Illinois as well. I really enjoyed the vada pav, which was a potato burger sandwich with sauce on both slices of bread. I wasn't really a fan of the bread though; I wish they used something more soft and doughy. The Gujarati thali was an assortment of different items in a cafeteria tray and I don't really know what I ate entirely. But it was all delicious and satisfying. If you don't mind a little bit of heat with your food this is a great place to go even if you do like meat. Also worth noting is that the majority (if not all) of the diners at this restaurant are South Asian, so you know the place is good. The only minor criticism I have is that the menu is hard to navigate because they don't describe anything or offer translations.

Love Neehee's. They have great food and big portions! We got the puri chaat, masala dosa and cheese and masala dosa. Also falooda. Masala dosa was good, but nothing special. Sambar here is good, but I've had better. Puri chaat was flavorful and filling. Super clean restaurant, lots of seating and ordering was quick and simple.

We have been coming to this place for quite some time. This is the place to get Indian street food. Their meals are typically very good and they do not disappoint. The service is pretty quick as we usually come at a not so busy time. We know at the height of their peak hours they can be quite busy. We always seem to try something different but the Chole Bhature is our favorite. We will return again. It has a casual vibe and set yourself. They also have a water station for unlimited ware and ice.

Lunch Combo with CHOLE BHATURE and PANI PURI, and a Mango Lassi

So good and filling! Went in for a weekday lunch and saw that they have a lunch special - choose one item each from two lists for $15. I ended up getting the Chole Bhature and Pani Puri, and it was fun to be able to try two things as a solo diner. I also added a Mango Lassi. I assumed the portions of each dish would be smaller for a lunch combo/special, but it kind of seemed like I just got two full sized things for myself haha. It was a lot of food! The Chole Bhature was amazing - so flavorful, good texture, wonderfully spiced. And I'm not even usually a big fan of chickpea dishes. This was really excellent though. It came with two giant puffy breads, but I didn't end up even fully finishing one. The raw onion it comes with did actually add to the flavor too. The Pani Puri was great too, very crispy and light exterior that held up the filling and sauces well for a fun bite that bursts in your mouth. Thoroughly enjoyed, and hope to be back soon! Very spacious interior with plenty of seating that could accommodate groups, and parking lot on site.

Came here for dinner on a Thursday. The store had plenty of space. It's a fast/casual restaurant. You order at the front and pick up your order once it's ready with a beeper. Pani puri - This was my first time trying this, and it's like an explosion in your mouth. It's very creamy and cold. I would recommend eating it quickly, so it doesn't fall apart, but I ate it in between the spicy food so that the coolness balanced out the heat. Pav Bhaji - This was our favorite item that we got. They so addicting! The spice was just right. The bread was soft and held the sauce well. It had the best flavor out of all of the dishes. Samosa chaat - I liked the crisp raw onions and toppings on this dish. My cousin said she wished that the filling had more flavor than just potatoes. However, I liked the textures of everything together. Spicy dosa - I forget which exact dosa this was, but it was tasty and spicy! I love dosas in general and this was good. It was crispy and easy to dip the sauces with. Wasn't a fan of the ginger-heavy sauce but the other chutneys were good. Mango lassi - Thick and not too sweet. It washed down the strong flavors of the other items well. The menu was so extensive here that I could come back several times and still try something new. There's also Indo-Chinese food. Absolutely wish there was a spot like this back home in the Bay Area!

Went for Buy 1 Get 1 free Dosa yesterday! The place was busy! And service was fast! They have now started giving plastic disposable cups for water to keep the place clean. I like the fact that they clean the tables instantly after someone leaves the table.

I finally got here! This place is my new jam. it is very conveniently located in a strip mall with an expanded space. Very clean and modern space with a live area to showcase the making of jalebees and pani puris. They even have fresh ice cream to be scooped in enticing Indian flavors. We came and got lunch combos. Excellent value! For 15.00, you get 2 generously sized dishes. We got: chaat papdi, chole bhatura, masala dosa and aloo tikki w/yogurt. Everything was phenomenal. The dosa was huge and served with masala, 2 chutnies and delicious sambhar. I also indulged in a rose falooda, which was heavenly, full of various textures and perfectly rose flavored. I will return as soon as possible to try every option here, including fresh sugar cane juice.

This is my second trip here and I think I just ordered wrong. I got the Paneer Veg grill sandwich and while it's good, I think it's not just my thing. Beware it is spicy -- I think there are legit jalapenos in the mix. I thought it would be more cheese/paneer-forward, but there's a lot of some sauce similar to what you'd get in a chaat. And cornm don't forget the corn, which didn't really add much because the flavor was overpowered. In the past I had a dosa (giant) and the rose falooda. Definitely try a falooda if you like bubble tea, but be warned it's a different textural experience. And the rose flavor is fairly strong. I agree this place is a bit overpriced perhaps but you can't get this kind of selection many other places. I would return to try more of their menu.

There is an interactive menu to learn about the restaurant's offerings. You order at the counter and you get a buzzer. You can sit wherever you want. We ordered a few items to try. They also have homemade ice cream ($3.99) but we didn't have any room for it! The food was fresh and flavorful. Great portion sizes. You can pick your spice level. You leave your dishes at your table when you're done.

A friend suggested this place when I asked for a recommendation near IKEA, and I'm so glad she did! The atmosphere is clean, the menu has well marked vegan options, and they have fun lively music playing! The service was fast and friendly! All of the food I had was absolutely delicious! This visit I enjoyed the Sev Batata Puri, Veg Hakka Noodles, and Mirchi Bhajia. I'll definitely be back!

I've wanted to try this place for past couple years but didn't want to torture my husband with a vegetarian restaurant. But I finally told him I want to try it. So glad I did. Went in on a Thursday night and place was packed. We planned on carrying out but couldn't make up our mind on what we wanted to order since this was our first time trying Indian cuisine. We stood in line for few minutes while we staring at all the options on the menu. I decided to order #6 Guji Thali and he ordered a street burger. I'm so glad I did because everything was delicious. Hubby lived his burger and surprisingly loved everything on my plate. I would of given five stars but place was crowded and bit noisy. We will be returning very soon though :) read more

One if not the best Indian place I have ever eaten at. If I can ever find an excuse to be lazy and not cook dinner, I am going to Neehee's. It is always pretty busy inside so I normally get an order to go and get it pretty quickly. The food is absolutely delicious and jam packed with interesting flavors. I have gotten a couple of different things so far and have not been disappointed at all. Items that are listed as spicy definitely push the brink of what I can handle but when the food tastes so good you can't stop no matter how much your mouth begs you. And the prices. You can't beat these prices. You can get so full off of $9 here its pretty amazing. I recommend this place to everyone that comes to visit and wants to grab some food. read more

Our favorite place for Bombay style stall /street Vegetarian food...food is tasty and spicy. It's a unique concept in the detroit metro area where others are trying to copy this place...but the original is still the best as not everyone can make this as authentic as neehees in this area. Though I give neehees a 5-star, I did have a couple of improvement ideas for the restaurant. 1- in the batata vada, they were spicy but a little to sweet which I found odd 2- I think the chutneys shd be available on request. I hate wasting them. 3- I like that the owners stay and sometimes r the ones behind the register...but when they r not there, I have noted a drop in service. And one warning on the spiciness level...some dishes are very spicy so be prepared for that ! I would not change it but pay attention to the spicy level of the dishes. read more

I got the somosas and a combo platter that was recommended... somosas were decent not the best I've had. They took a very long time to get my sampler that should have been prepare and the. It was the least flavorful Indian food I've had in a long time. read more

I have been here several times for lunch. The samosas and dosas are all very good and prepared with good ingredients, and of course most dishes are spicy. I find the atmosphere a bit chaotic & loud (cashier screams order number), but I tolerate it for the food. And in case it was not clear, the menu is 100% vegetarian. read more

It can be overwhelming to choose an item when you are not at all familiar with the ingredients or food presented. You can NOT go wrong with choosing here- I ended up having W1 which was a vegetable wrap, warm with vegan mayo- YUMMMMM. It came with a spicy yummy soup and two dipping sauces that were all very excellent- was not heavy on my stomach. The service was excellent, with a smile and they were kind enough to provide a book with pictures to help me decide and answer my crazy questions such as is this soup in this small bowl or a dipping sauce. I will def return MANY times! Please try this out- you will love it. read more

Only 4 stars because seating is limited and food comes out in haphazard order. Other than that, this is the closest thing to the real deal as it's going to get...in Canton, none the less! After spending a summer abroad in India, whenever I was getting "abroad-sick" I would stop into neehee to get the authentic kick I needed. Bonus, the facility is super clean, and kitchen is held to american standards, not indian street food standards ;) There are some safe items in the menu for the less daring (the open faced samosas) and there are some more daring items for the wild and adventurous. The mini-thali is just enough for one, and is satisfying to someone who wants to try a bit of everything. One of my all time favorites read more

The BEST Indian food. The food is consistently good. It gets really busy during dinners, and on Saturdays. They are closed on Sundays. So try to go during non-peak hours, or be wiling to wait like 20 minutes. Ordering take out and picking it up is also an option. Restaurant serves Indian Street food. It is delicious, and can be eaten without any reservations about hygeine. Non Asians could consider this food as spicy, so please get Mango Lassi/Sugar Cane juice/awesome ice cream flavors to help cool the palette. All chat items are a hit, you can also ask them to reduce the hot chutney in these. read more

Placed a group order from here. We ordered alot of dishes- bombay grill sandwich, gobi manchurian, vadapav, Samosa pav, spl bhel, pav bhaji, dabeli, sandwich dosa wrap. Everything was good but special call out for the gobi manchurian and garlic vadapav- those were really good. Bhel was not that great but that may be because it was a little soggy by the time we reached home. Dabeli was a little sweeter than what we have in India. Pav bhaji was pretty good. read more

I've been here once with my sister and we FEASTED. We had no idea what we were ordering, and I can't recall the names, but it was all SO good. We definitely had one cauliflower dish which was my favorite. I highly recommend the gobi cauliflower- it was spicy but so good. We also tried a wrap which was OK. Samosas were excellent and the dipping sauce for them was a great addition. Mango lassi was THE BEST IVE EVER HAD. I can't wait to go back. I am rating this 4 starts instead of 5 because the place was overly crowded with no where to sit. Maybe I need to go back in a weekday instead. read more

We stopped in here to try something different and were pretty happy that we did. I really can't remember what we ordered but it was good. The large menu above the counter is a little daunting if it's your first time there but you should be able to choose something. I had a noodle dish, my wife has a rice dish and we both ordered a side dish to try. Again I can't remember what it was but it was good and spicey. Very nice staff, seating area was very clean, looking forward to trying more dishes. read more

This place is no doubt one of the best when flavors comes to mind but the portion quantity is really poor compared to what they charge..sometimes it's not even worth the hype :( Namaste is pretty much giving this place a tough competition in terms of taste and quantity..few things like papdi chaat tastes like bomb!! Too good compared to this place and quantity will be enough for two! Neehee's change your business style please..don't rob your customers blind! 9 pm on a Sat and this place is packed! Even better- all Indians so the flavors must be authentic. Didn't have any clue what the food should taste like or what most of the menu items even were. Picked daha samosa chaat and the idly/vada combo. So frikkin good. I love samosas but this was new to me- they were stuffed with a spicy cilantro potato green peas mix w a nice kick and covered in a yogurt and sweet tamarind? Sauce and sprinkled w onions and some thin crispy noodle looking thing. Delicious!!! The other item in not sure which is the idly and which is the vada- they tasted similar but one may have been steamed into a pancake shape and I was not a fan of its texture- kind of crumbly on the tongue- the other had cumin seeds and some chopped herb mixed in and was fried In a small donut shape- the crispness was insane it was very very good. It came with two dips- one bland orange one maybe a tomato base? And the other tasted like blended cilantro but tasted diluted. It also came with a delicious side of vegetables in a smoky coriander/cumin/mustard seed sauce that may have had some sort of lentil crushed in for texture. It was divine. I'd eat here again and try some more random deliciousness. Paid under $15 and when I left at 9:27 there was a line out the door to order. Worth the half hour drive. read more

Absolutely delicious! There's a ton to choose from, so be prepared to take some time ordering. You get a beeper to take to your table that buzzes when your food is done which means it's already extremely Fresh. Love this place! read more

The food was very good overall. But when I walked in there was one of the largest menus I have ever seen with very small print on the wall. I just ended up telling the cashier to pick me something. I didn't realize there were paper menus you could look at or I would have taken the time. Everything we tried was good but very spicy which is understandable I'm just not the best at handling spicy foods. The M6 was very good with 4 different curry samples, a mango yogurt spread, a chickpea salad, and a white sauce which I wasn't familiar with. Over I would say grab a menu and sit down because there is ALOT to look at. read more

Everything I would say about this food has been said. Quick, cheap, and darn delicious South Indian. I really loved the Pav Bhaji. This spicy concoction of veggies is served with toasted hamburger buns- yes, hamburger buns like the ones you buy at Kroger in packages of eight. The stuff is so good you could serve it on an asbestos shingle and I would still eat it. I have not tried the Indo-chinese because thus far, I have not enjoyed my forays into Indo-chinese. LOVE THIS PLACE!!! For newbies to Indian food, you will need to ask lots of questions before ordering. There is not a bad meal on the menu, so if you like Indian flavors and/or vegetarian food, experiment!! Staff is friendly, and my take-out orders have always been accurate. Healthy, flavorful and well-prepared. I'm a semi-regular and have tried most of the menu. My favorites are Gobi 65 (spicy cauliflower) and Chili Paneer Dry (spicy paneer cheese). Papdi Chaat is delicious also of you are looking for a cold dish. They have a good selection of South Indian and Indian Chinese as well as a wide variety of ice cream flavors. Definitely worth stopping in for a bite. Also love the fact that they are closed on Sundays to allow their employees time to worship and spend with their families. Try it! You'll like it! read more

The most rude Indian people are here both customers and servers. Food is average and fast food set up. Popular Indian people hangout but if it's busy, man they are terribly rude! Particularly the woman. They just cut in line and demand like crazy. Is ugly scene and not really worth it. read more

This was my first time here and both the food and service were great! I was not familiar with the menu, the staff was very helpful making suggestions and providing descriptions. I also love the fact that they have pictures for practically every menu item (I love to see my food first). I ended up ordering the vegetable pakoda and the chili paneer dry. Both were excellent! The chili paneer was spicy and had a wonderful flavor. The pakoda was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and perfectly seasoned. I'll be back for sure. read more

Oh God! Cannot stop coming here. I drive 30 miles to grab a bite of Indian street food, once a week. One great drink - Sugarcane juice! Dabeli is recommended over Wada Pav. Pav bhaaji, Undhiyo, Parathas, Chaats... Mouth watering food with flawless cooking. Simply love visiting this place! read more

If you are looking for great tasting vegetarian Indian food this is the spot. The place itself is very casual and a little uncomfortable, however their delicious food makes up for it! They have combos and a la carte. It has become one of my favorite spots in Canton! Their service has always been friendly and fast paced like a fast food restaurant, but they serve high quality food. The food there was a+ though, good variety and pretty tasty. They have a ton of other stuff in addition to the regular street fare, including indo-chinese and south indian idlis and dosas. When we got there, there was a line up out the door and seemed to continue on for a while. I really wish they had a better way to line people up and have their space arranged just a tad bit better so that people that were trying to leave could also leave with out having to weave their way thru people that were waiting in line. read more

Not only the best Indian food in Michigan, but one of my favorite food places of all time (I'm from the east coast and well fed). Order two of the dry paneer chili; it's so good you'll eat dinner twice. My dreams are made of their mango lassies. what can I really say about neehees other than this place is an absolute institution. there is NOTHING like neehees. Neehees might be a good place to eat but to most customers, it is pricey. The ambience is very welcoming and comforting. The quality of food seems to be deteriorating its "Street"ness over a period of time. I remember the taste was different when Neehees started off in a humble corner of Suraj Grocers in Farmington Hills and then Canton but the Troy outlet isn't close to it. We recently Bombay Grill Sandwich and within a few minutes of receiving the food, the sandwich fell apart. It had to be eaten as a Bread scramble finally. The vegetable lo mein had a nice spice level and plenty of fresh vegetables, but it was slightly greasy. Absolutely the Best Indian Food Ever! I was thoroughly impressed with both the quality and quantity of the food. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and hygienically prepared.
