It started out as a positive experience. Who doesn't love stained glass.
I made my purchase, talked about a future project, and went on with my day.
I purchased 5 pieces of glass. I brought them home and soon discovered it was not going to meet my needs for the project I was currently working on.
I returned to the store within 24 hrs. to return the glass. The owner was in the store. He was not in the store on the original purchase. His youngest son was.
I was not made aware of any type of return or exchange policy at the time of purchase.
When I returned the product, the son looks at dad for help. He told me "The Policy" is not to accept returns. They will only give you store credit.
I explained I was not made aware of any such policy, I had no need for a store credit. He said, oh well, that's our policy. I explained again I was not told the policy, and would like credit since it was not explained to me up front.
I said, keep the product and walked out. The owner chased me down the street, and when I got to my car, he attempted to explain the policy, and the proceed to tell me I could exchange it for a window. I told him I did not want a window, I did not want store credit. I simply wanted my money back.
POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.....
Lesson learned: NO MATTER HOW NICE THEY SEEM WHEN THEY'RE SELLING YOU THE PRODUCT, ALWAYS, ALWAYS LEARN THE REFUND AND EXCHANGE POLICY FIRST.
I would imagine them to be talented, but I will never step foot in that store again. Anywhere but there.
I am a former Customer Service Manager of 19 years. I was taught to "make the customer happy" and work out the details later.
