Decent place that's local with wine - what's not to love? Pros: - outdoor space - local - views of vineyards - dog friendly - good pricing - good variety of wines Cons: - outdoor seating not very comfortable Not sure what the inside is like as we just went to the outdoor space. They weren't very busy so if you're looking for social place and to mingle with others, this isn't it.

This is my favorite winery. The atmosphere and workers are absolutely the best. They have an outdoor area that has lots of tables and cornhole. The inside is smaller but great for a more intimidate setting when there's less people there. The lavender cheese is a MUST. I crave this cheese!! All of their wines are amazing and absolutely worth a tasting if you're in the area.

Was a nice wine. Glad we have little places around here to go visit. First time there. Was a bit cold will go back in summer when a bit warmer to sit outside.

I love the olive oil I also picked up at Nessere Vineyards! Such a cute and clever label

Nessere is located north of Chico just past the town of Dayton on Dayton-Durham Road. Its nestled between some walnut orchards and on this fall day, the colors in the orchard was lovely! This is a small vineyard and winery owned by a young couple who also happen to live on the property. You can tell they are dedicated and passionate about their wines. They have 3.5 acres of organic grapes on site and also source from the nearby Sierra Region and also Napa Valley. The Estate grown varieties are Pinot Grigio, Barbers and Sangiovese. I found it interesting that these hearty reds grow so well in the warm climate here. I really enjoyed the Sangiovese, it had a great nose and wonderful finish. They also do a Sangria which I really liked! It smelled like watermelon to me but had such a nice, mellow fruit flavor to it. They sell it in a growler that you can bring back for refills. They have tables out in the patio and a tasting bar inside. They also offer some local cheeses, nuts and olive oils. The olive oil was by Knaughty Farms and had a really cute label! Chico area is becoming a destination for breweries and wineries, a great place for a weekend getaway. Lots of local parks, hiking or biking trails, art galleries and a wonderful downtown area.

Best family winery in Durham. Vanessa and Jess are very welcoming. They treat you like family. The Barbara and sangaria are my favorites. Definitely worth the drive.

    Cheeseboard with their wine tastings!

Best winery I've ever been to. Beautiful scenery, amazing service, delicious cheeseboard, and ONE OF A KIND wines. It's like a tucked away secret. Feels like you're on a beautiful movie set in France. Like someone said in other reviews, forget Napa, come here!

The location is great and the white wines are good. We had a reservation for a large group. The service was lack luster.

Not only is their wine and champagne fantastic (organic-sulphate free!), it's also ideal for the kind of quaint and intimate gathering I was desiring. Everywhere I turned, there was a sweet face to converse and catch-up with. We brought in a great musician to play his saxophone while we all danced around. And my charcuterie spread was of the chain, fantastic. It covered a whole dining table. My favorite was enjoying my apricot and cream filled cake from nearby Upper Crust Bakery. Their server was on point. She kept everyone's champagne glasses full, which was crucial on this hot summer's evening. I wish I could party like this every weekend. It felt like a real Napa-Chico experience. I'd recommend to anyone to have their special event here. Thank you LaRocca, I'll be back! -Prairie

Highly acidic flat wine that had a few varieties in bottle. We choked our way thru the first tasting and apologized to the staff member " it just wasn't our flavor". The tasting room was a bit cluttered and a nice tasting bar but staff not the wine held our attention. Maybe there's reason why wine has improved since the Dawn of time.

Upon arrival we were offered a sample of their sangria which is made fresh every Saturday morning, which was so good and fresh tasting. (Spoiler alert, I left with a bottle). The service there was excellent, the gentleman that helped us was incredibly professional. Their entire facility is very cute, lots of spaces to lounge, including an upstairs which was a little warm until the A/C kicked on. A fan upstairs in the height of summer would've really elevated the space. The views from the second floor were incredible, very picturesque, along with the view from their stairwell. I'm excited to revisit in the fall time when it's not so hot outside. They had a lot of cute, fun, card games, puzzles, and other things to do. Lots of cozy nooks to sit in, couches, bar tops, lounger chairs, etc. which truly felt like the inviting space I have created in my own home. I am writing this review as I sit on my couch and enjoy a chilled glass of sangria and I encourage you to visit Odyssey at the very least, for their sangria. I will be back in the fall!

The service isn't too notch like some of the other wineries in the area (don't say hi when you walk in, you kind of have to wonder to figure out where to go/find someone to speak with). This is a very large property so you can sit in multiple places inside (upstairs and downstairs) and then outside in a few areas as well. We didn't try any of their foods but they did mention they have cheese and meats from local and non-local farms - I think Santa Rosa area? Overall it was nice but I wish the service was a little bit better and more welcoming.

I ended up buying some reds, whites, and the Angelica for gifts as well as tee shirts because of my incandescent time as a retreatant, but I must also encourage you to go at a time when the gift shop is open because the jams, honey, and walnuts they sell there are DELICIOUS. You'll have to walk out of the tasting room and up the walkway alongside the vines to the gift shop during their hours of operation, which seem to vary, but are customarily 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. They don't offer tastings of the walnuts, jams, or honey. When I got home and tried them, I wish they had since they are absolutely scrumptious and I would've bought more. I really wanted to buy raw walnuts because I had walked alongside the walnut trees during my retreat. However, they only sold the candied walnuts in the gift store. The candied walnuts are grown and made by the monks of New Clairvaux and the ingredients are: roasted walnuts, sugar, eggs, vanilla, salt, cardamom, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper. I gave some to my friends in Berkeley who said they were "delicious and slightly addictive." I agree! The cayenne pepper is subtle, but the mix of the cardamom and cayenne is perfection. If I tried them in the gift shop, I would've bought every one they had on their shelves. The creamed honeys for sale are prepared by the Cistercian Nuns of the Redwoods Monastery. When I saw "almond," because I'd never seen honey from almond blossoms, I bought a few. I should've bought some of the other flavors. I didn't realize until I opened them that they had crushed almonds and orgeat or almond syrup in them! I love orgeat in cocktails, steamed milk, in pretty much anything so this creamed honey is absolutely divine. Again, if I'd known, I would've bought every single jar of it. So, as you'd expect at the Abbey, because they don't have tastings at the gift store, you'll have to purchase the food items on faith. I recommend you do.
