When the chain liquor store forgot to place my 5-gallon keg order two weeks in a row, it was time for a change. Star had my brand (Farmers) in stock. Good price. They even carried it to my truck! When I went back for another keg, I received the same friendly great service. I'll be back! read more

They have a good selection of booze but their prices are outrageous. They will not negotiate to reach an agreeable deal even if you offer then 3-4x msrp on something. They can keep their 3 or 4 year old bottles. It sitting on the shelf won't make them any money. Boy will they sell you a load of b.s. on why it's priced so high. I hope no ignorant new person buys those over prices bottles. They will be in for a shock when they learn how low the msrp is and how badly they got taken. I would be willing to edit this review if the owner's would be willing to lower their prices from the current 4-10x msrp. People should be able to afford a nice bottle once in awhile and not have to get a loan. It sickens me to see stuff that has a small allotment for the entire country just sit in this store with ridiculous prices. They would also need to stop telling stories aboiu t how it's such a great deal. They are trying to pass off robbery with the hype of a name brand. read more

This place is wack..they overcharge for Lead Dog's core beers, Bourbon County, etc. (The BCBS is 10 dollars over standard price in town) They do not rotate stock, I have seen 6-month-plus old hazy ipa's on the shelf. Tasting notes from them are useless..All the beers they carry are 'very good!' When in fact, they do not drink alcohol..period. They also engage in some shady business practices, such as calling other bottle shops in town to get case/individual pricing so they can overcharge accordingly. DO NOT GO HERE! There are plenty of other bottle shops in Chico owned by great people who actually drink the beers they sell and can give solid style recommendations, and most all have a better selection. read more

They seem nice, call you "my friend" but have charged me almost 5 bucks on drinks that were 2.99 on the shelf. No transaction fee posted so I don't know, watch out. Go to Safeway. read more

They just reopened a few stores down from their old location. Selection is crazy good, the store is clean and while it could use some work with the layout you can find almost anything you want and the people running the show are extremely helpful. Plus they'll brag about how their prices are the lowest in town and so far it would appear they're right. I can't find some bottle sizes elsewhere and buying in bulk does save money. Their cider selection is a bit paltry but that doesn't surprise me as most places don't have an amazing selection. EDIT: Was told today that they're getting more beer, wine, and cider in stock as time goes on. They even pulled some ACE cider out of the back upon my request! Hopefully this means I can walk to get new ciders as time goes on. read more

They are the safest, friendliest, and the most enjoyable shopping experience one can have. As an enthusiast, This is where one should go to be treated as a family member instead of another customer. The people of Chico need to be warned of the scam from this place. He gets your entire order and absolutely REFUSES to let you pay for it before your event and won't give you a price. It got loud in there when I told him I didn't feel comfortable taking a product without knowing the price I would owe.. he was willing to argue with me over it which was really weird. We ended up getting all of our alcohol at Costco for the event (1/3 of the price even tho he promised to price match to get us in the door then refused to do so after he made the quote) but we still used him for ice and ice chest rentals. He wouldn't give us a price before hand but we figured it couldn't be that much.. $1600 later and we could've bought the ice chests brand new for cheaper than his rental. He also said the delivery and pickup fee was $100 then charged us $400 on the quote. This place is SO SHADY!! He demands his price after the event because he knows you're stuck and you have to pay what he says since you never agreed to a price before hand. Totally an organized scam. These guys will constantly short change you, especially if you've been drinking. They are very cheerful and distract you from counting your change. I have caught them twice doing this to me, I thought the first time was an accident.
