They just left my house in New Canaan - absolute slobs. All the crap from the gutters is all over my deck, window sills, driveway, lawn, etc. It just took me longer to clean up their mess than it took them to do the entire job. Will never hire this company again. read more

Save yourself the aggravation; choose someone else. They were pushy when I tried to make initial appointment -- trying to get me to schedule a second cleaning before I ever saw their work. When I wouldn't budge, they tried to sell their other products -- moquitoes, ticks, laundry vents. When they did the work, they left an awful mess of sticks and some leaves all around the perimeter of my house. I called mulltiple; you never get the same representative twice. After speaking to several people, the manager argued with me when I insisted they clean up the debris, stating they don't do landscaping. I was asking them to clean up the mess that they had made. My yard had been clean beforehand. After many calls, they came and cleaned it up. The fellow in charge of the crew was very nice, unlike the office staff. They do send a text to say they are coming -- "in a few minutes or an hour," very specific. After 2.25 hours of waiting for the third visit, I called and got the typical "some jobs take longer," and that I didn't need to be there. No? And responsible companies call if they are running late, but I was told that the crew has no way of contacting the client. Obviously, they should change the text to "we will be there sometime today." If I could leave zero stars, I would. I was scheduled to have a gutter cleaning in late fall. They never showed up and never contacted me. Today, more than three months later, I get a text message stating that a crew is on the way to my house. From missing appointments to causing SEVERE DAMAGE TO OUR PROPERTY AND CONTENTS, they have continuously neglected their duty to their customers. Despite clear evidence of their PUTTING A HOLE IN OUR ROOF, they have refused to take accountability for their actions. They refuse to acknowledge their mistakes, and provide proper compensation and resolution. We're out thousands of dollars...destroyed stove, dining furniture... They tell you they will make it right, but then change what is agreed to over phone. AVOID. Go to any one else. Claiming 60 years experience means nothing when your guy 2 weeks on the job goes through my roof and claims "it wasn't me!" Disgusting. Note leaves pictured still in gutter. Horrendous business that I wish I never used. (1) Insane upsell, (2) tell me my gutters somehow need to be replaced but can't actually explain why, (3) get constant texts/calls/emails selling me their junk, and (4) really the sign of a sh*t company, they call with their ID blocked. Had new gutters installed with poor workmanship. Provide my feedback and the photos of the work they requested and never heard back even after speaking with two representatives. Nothing was corrected and i was not contacted again. Also had my gutters to the main house cleaned with no reports of issues from Ned Stevens. When I called expecting feedback on the condition they said if there were any issues, we would have informed you about them. Now leaking badly. They were recommended as a part of Angi, and I asked them to match a lower quote and they did for a one-time see if they were worth it for next time. First crew stopped out, got most of the material out, but left one of my gutter screens warped/off and a second crew had to come by later fortunately I just had to contact them, and the manager was very apologetic and though it took a couple weeks for them to come back, they fixed it in ten minutes. They don't clear ground drains of leaves, though - they recommended I call a plumber. read more

My first experience in November was positive. I signed on for a year of gutter cleaning (4 per year). BUT. . . Ned's has failed to uphold their responsibility to provide quality service. The second "cleaning" was not announced with notification that they were coming. I complained and they were supposed to come out today 3/4 to flush the gutters properly with water (which I had turned off due to freezing temperatures). They came out YESTERDAY! I called to complain again, and they rescheduled me for today. They arrived at 10:05 am, and left at 10:10- without cleaning the gutters . . . just took a picture and left! I cancelled the contract as I am fed up with their antics! I upped my review to 2 stars as they did credit my account for half of my original $738.24. read more

I was on a service plan for one year. Huge regret. From coming in January for Fall service to spending 3 minutes at my home for Spring service--because they came first week of April (before any blooms). I just discovered a massive clog in my downspout this spring. Turns out when they "wash the gutters all the debris is pushed down the spout and clogs it. They had left me a note it was clogged and they could "clean" it... create problems and then charge to fix em--bad business. read more

This company went out to my property but couldn't do the job due to "safety concerns" having to do with the pitch of the roof and a porch overhang. Not only did they not get back to me to explain but when I tried to follow-up, including speaking to a manager, I was treated rudely and heard there's "nothing we can do," "maybe Google another company!" The guy put 3 piles of gutter filth on my driveway, which left black residue marks; filled only 3 small plastic bags of gutter debris from a large 2 story home....because he used a leaf blower to blow out the rest all over my parked car,,, front porch, front walkway, patio, bbq grille, patio doors,,, made a huge mess... when i called to complain they sent the guy back, who asked me if I had a hose pipe he could use,,, i sent him on his way not wanting him to spray the mess all over my garage doors and who know what else.... They were to leave gutter debris in yard waste container, but instead left 3 small bags on driveway next to trash containers. This company bought the gutter cleaning company we had used for more than a decade. The people who come to clean the gutters are nice and seem competent, but the "office" constantly changes the dates of our gutter cleaning despite us confirming specific dates. It takes several calls a year to clear things up. They also try to "renew" my contract after the third cleaning when I have aid for our cleanings. It's a lot of work to monitor these folks. Terrible customer service. They came out to clean my gutters today and the crew left 4 black garbage bags at the top of my driveway. So, apparently after paying them to do a service they also expect people to do the labor and incur the cost to transfer to refuse bags and add garbage stickers...yet their prices keep increasing. I called customer service and the Rep had an attitude and was not helpful. She told me they "try" to clean up after themselves and not leave garbage but they don't guarantee it. I had posted a negative review before and removed at the request of the company as they were very apologetic. This is the second time posting that they have come out to my home unannounced. The first time I was on a conference call upstairs and surprised by a ladder and a person on my roof. - that was the first time I filed a complaint. I had explicitly asked in the future that I get a call to schedule ahead of time. This past weekend showed up unannounced and told them to no do the service and to call ahead and schedule. (Unfortunately I have someone at home that is disabled and do not need surprises). Today one again just show up and see my aide in the house and point to the roof. I describe the issue with my gutter to them on the phone. Next I know they went on my property without permission and tore the gutter off the wall. They started working and when i caught up to them black slugged from the drain was all over my deck and patio furniture. They couldn't fix the clog so they provide a kluge solution. I have been using Ned Stevens twice a year for 15 years. Not because I like them, but because I didn't know anyone else. They consistently try to up-sell me, raise their price & try to increase the frequency of service. This year is the straw that broke the camel's back. I made an appointment back in November & they have not shown up as yet. It's January. We have had rain, snow & ice. The manager assures me that I am on the schedule, but nothing. Very disappointed. After numerous attempts to find our home in Boston (took 3 times!), Ned Stevens left a note on the door that they could not clean our gutters without reason. After numerous calls to learn more, they told us our gutters were too high for their ladders. We have 3 floors, which is very common for the area, so this shouldn't have been a surprise. They could have looked at images of our home, or asked us. They will show up next month to clean my gutters but the water will be turned off and they won't be able to do the job correctly. Have used them for approximately 4 years for gutter cleaning, sometimes 2x a year. They always give you a price and then you need to ask about discounts that may be applied. Then they give you a discounted price. Every service was an increase price. This year, the same thing, except when they were to come out, I get a message that there was a problem and they weren't able to do the service. Finally get a call today, and they informed me that the price was over 50% more than the estimate. I asked why and they said that it was the size of the house. I explained that the house hadn't been expanded since they first came out over 4 years ago. They say that prices went up and that they hadn't caught the "error" on their part until this year. Cannot recommend a company that refuses work. They did my gutters last year and I called them again today, and whomever I talked to was uninterested in doing any minor repair, refusing to even consider taking down an empty wasps nest, or minor repair of a vine that grew around a gutter. Oh, but they really wanted to replace all my gutters! I asked more than once for them to come look at the work (that they knew about last year), and they flatly refused. I was going to have my gutters cleaned, house power washed and SOME gutters fixed and replaced, but the attitude I got about the other minor repair (flat refusing it although they advertise doing THAT EXACT WORK) made me go with someone local. While they did clean the gutters, they left all of the debris behind in plastic garbage bags (which the city won't take as lawn rubbish). They told me my brand new gutters needed repair, which they do not. They also told me they needed to remove algea from the side of my home, aservice which would cost several thousand dollars. I removed the algea myself with a pressure washer for free. They are the pushiest company I've ever dealt with. They never stop calling to push their overpriced services. read more

Stay away from this company! I've been a loyal customer for several years at 2 different residences. They cleaned my gutters twice in the past year at this house at the same rate. I was on a service plan. I recently renewed my service plan with a small increase in price due to inflation (totally reasonable) I prepaid for 2 cleanings. I waited over a month for a crew to come out. Now it's mid-December with freezing temps. The crew showed up and left within 1 minute. I assumed it was because it was early morning and frosty and they were not able to do the service due to safety reasons. After numerous calls, I was finally told that it wasn't due to safety, it was because they could not do the service at my prepaid price. They wanted to charge me an additional $134 which is an increase of 40% over what I was quoted and prepaid for - and paid twice in the past. If there was an issue in price with the size of my house, I surely should have been warned at my last cleaning in the spring. And the company should have never renewed my contract at the same rate. In speaking with the supervisor, they agreed that I was not wrong, that they should have told me about the increase in price after my last cleaning, and should not have renewed my contract at the same price. However, even in admitting that they were at fault, they would not honor the contract that I prepaid for. I have since gotten 2 in person quotes from 2 reputable llc gutter cleaning companies, both of which quoted me the same price I was previously paying Ned Stevens. Do not use this company We had the company clean our capped gutters. Shortly after, the gutter failed to work. They said there was a problem with the gutter, so we agreed to let them replace it. Then they replaced the wrong gutter! We asked them to stop, but they refused. They said they had a recording of our phone call, but when we listened to it, they told us that they would replace the broken gutter. The company says they will not accept email correspondence, they want every communication done by phone. This is a huge red flag--it's much easier to deny a phone call than what's in writing. I hired these guys to install new gutters as I was having my house re-sided and painted - was actually recommended by my contractors. I had them scheduled to come out before the fascia board were painted. They came to the door at 8 am and told me they couldn't do the job as I have angles on the roof they can't do - they only install flat gutters. I have to get my house painted before the rains come and now I have to find someone else to do the gutters! I am so unhappy right now! It's probably going to take a few weeks to find and get someone out here to install! They do all of this over the phone - I asked the guy if he checked out my house on google earth since they won't come out to look and asked about the angle of the house and the way the front slopes and if that would be a problem! He said no!! He took my money and that was it! UGH!! I'm so mad right now.... I'm letting my contractor know! Don't hire these guys unless you have flat gutters as they have no idea how to do them! He said they are custom....aren't ALL gutters custom!?! Stay away and get a bid from someone who is willing to come look at your site first. These guys are a scam! Honestly glad they didn't do my gutters now...dodged a bullet!?! UPDATE: After writing this review I received a call from a manager at Ned Stevens and they said they would like to make it right. He said they can put a diverter on the front of the house to fix my angled gutters and divert the water. I said OK. He then stated that he saw that I wrote a review - I told him I would take it down if they make it right. Well, the crew showed up Saturday morning at 7:00 am - this time with a foreman I'm guessing. He went up on the roof and initially said he could put new gutters on the flat sections and tie them into the old gutters on the angles. He then went up on the roof and stated we have steel gutters so they can't tie them in. They can't do the job! So needless to say - we are back to where we started and I've lost two more days of getting my work crew here to finish painting!!! I'm so DONE!!! The worst part is I had called other companies to come and give me quotes, etc. after they came and told me they couldn't do the job, and when Ned Stevens called me back and stated they would make this right, I wanted to give them a chance and I told the others not to come. So, now I have to wait until Monday just to schedule new quotes... what a waste of time!! Thanks, Ned Stevens!! I should charge you for the hours wasted. Ned Stevens crew showed up days before they were scheduled, just as I was chairing a zoom meeting with 50 attendees, making a LOT of noise right outside my window--despite requesting to be told in advance when the crew would be showing up, exactly because of WFH. In having to quickly jump up and shut a window I ended up breaking my thumb, something that took three months to heal, and resulting in medical co-pays several times the amount of the cleaning. I had left a message describing this, and thought payment had been waived, and now I am in back and forth, they are threatening to send to collection. They are worse than Comcast, and their inability to coordinate scheduling means I will never use them again, as well their refusal to take responsibility for the result of them entering my property at a time they did not have my permission to work. read more

None of them were willing to offer a price quote over the phone without sending a crew member or having me send them details photos of my roof and gutters. I have attempted to use Ned Stevenson services twice. Shame on me for not learning the first time. They will not give you a date for your service but essentially give you a three-week time period in which they will (supposedly) show up and clean your gutters. I ordered my service on December 3rd knowing that the three-week period would be before I had my in-laws and family visit on the 29th. On the 24th after three weeks I contacted them as the service had not been finished at which time I was promised the service would be done before my visitors came as it was the concern I told them about. Fast forward to the day before people arrived and I called irate that the service has still not been completed at which time I was again promised that they would be out the next morning to complete the service. What a shock it was when again they broke a promise for the third time. I called again irate to be told it wouldn't be possible for them to come that day at which time I told them to stay the heck away from my property. These people do not care about small businesses or small homeowners. This is not even the first time this has happened to me. The only difference is that I didn't have a deadline for my family last time so they did eventually show up scattering leaves and debris all over my lawn. It's clear their crews are always out servicing more important clients. The manager did call to try to fix the situation but too little too late as I was already on a ladder doing my own gutters with a herniated disc. Why the hell would I want further services from your terrible business- I need to know that people will actually do the bloody job. Do yourself a favor and go with literally anyone else!!! read more

I am reporting on the service received yesterday 3/23/22 for gutter cleaning. I didn't except from a professional company of gutter cleaning service so bad. The service started before my office work, hence I am able to watch completely. Otherwise I am in imagination they did a good job. Below are the details I have order the gutter cleaning service and was charged $202 they even said, they will check the strapping and fix if there are any issues, but I didn't except it will be this worst. During the call I was told 1) They do proper cleaning and ensure through flushing 2) They will check any strapping loose ends and will tight. 3) They will recommends if any issues: The reason I called so called professional company is to check and see if they found any leaks or overflows water into walls Team came in the morning at 7:32 and left with in 15min. They didn't even clean anything. 1) They left water on the roof to see it flows to gutters on both sides(front and back), less than 10min. 2) They didn't even check the gutters if there are any debris left inside the the gutters. 3) Running water on the roof is so called gutter cleaning, then I think it is waste of money and time. I will request another cleaning company from local who are real professionals. If this so called gutter cleaning, natural rain will do better job in cleaning gutters. I Will NOT recommend Ned Stevens I have called two contractors when I saw exposed wood on one third above the new gutter. I was told by two home repair/contractors that the job was done incorrectly. I have contracted one reputable local company to take down one gutter, wrap the exposed wood and install it correctly since that is what both companies agreed needed to be done. The cost is $800 to a $1000. I paid Ned Stevens about $1100. The supervisor insisted that the job was done perfectly. The two contractors both said it was not. I hate to spend double to fix a job that was not done correctly. I have an old beach house and I do not recommend them for an older house. read more

I booked this gutter company because they said they do a full flush of the underground gutter line and can snake a blockage if they find one. (This is what was most important to me) The first appointment the gutter team no showed. I was told that they couldn't find the house. This is complete bs because the customer service agent found it on Google maps without a problem. They "rescheduled" the appointment for another day and again I waited all day to find out I wasn't rescheduled. I wasn't booked, so clearly the customer service person didn't do their part. After a lot of back and forth another customer service person roped me back to give them a 3rd try. The 3rd appointment the team shows up and spends 15min with a leaf blower and then they pack up to leave. No gutter flush, no underground pipe check. Nothing! The whole reason for the appointment out the window. After calling customer service again, they said the team couldn't find where to connect a hose to use the water which again is complete BS. There's 2 spots at this house to connect a hose. one in the front and one in the back. After a lot of back and forth with managers and customer service reps, I'm done. Nonetheless, I still have to pay $100 for who knows what. NOTHING! I would never recommend this company. read more
