That approach will take more time and effort on your part, but the data shows that it usually pays off if you're willing to do the work. I paid almost nothing for a comprehensive program at Kaiser which used a multi-modal approach and led to a lasting solution (16 months and counting as of today) for my problems. For me, Eric's services were a waste of many hundreds of dollars. Spending the same amount on out of pocket sessions with a cognitive behavioral therapist would have yielded a better outcome.

She also stopped my sister-in-law from smoking in one session! This not a paid testimonial! She stopped the same day for about 3 years. Unfortunately, she is surrounded by smokers and frequented areas that smokers frequent, and she slowly started smoking again. I have no doubt that a follow-up session would have kept her from not smoking. Factoring in taxes, a pack of cigarettes per day for 3 years is almost $10,000 in savings.

I also had to have my husband take care of my child to do this with her. I also had to take time off work to be there during work hours. These things matter to me too.
