The tee boxes were okay. All of this could be somewhat overlooked if they didn't charge $45 for a green fee and cart. I wish courses would give a discounted price when they know their course is not in the best shape it can be. And the greens! Yes, they were badly maintained, but they are also the most unfair greens you will ever play. And depending on where they have the pins, it can be downright unplayable as you will constantly be having your ball ROLL OFF THE GREEN after almost coming to a stop near the hole. Some of the views are really nice, however, as you can get good pictures of your playing partners with Lake Livingston in the background. So, in summary, if they charged approximately $30 to play this course, it would be a good value. At $45, it is a complete rip off. We only play here when we visit and camp at our property in Onalaska. This is about a 25-minute drive, which is really convenient if you're just looking to get away, drink some beer, and play some golf with your friends and family. For this reason alone, I almost gave it 3 stars. The condition of the course the most recent time there is why I only gave it 2 stars.

If you've been to any of these smaller golf courses which are typically operated out of some aging building that could hardly be called a club house with a small pro shop to sign in and purchase a few of the bare necessities that you forget to buy at the local sporting goods store or in this case maybe it's a Walmart you're in for a big surprise as you approach the clubhouse from the highway. This newer modern club house that replaced what I would assume to be the original accommodations that burnt down in the recent past is nothing short of a dream come true for the new owners. Although I didn't take the full tour I was impressed with the parking lot, front entrance and restaurant. I must tell those of you who aren't very observant check out the legs on the dining room tables, the legs are actual rifles, my first thought after seeing this was "how fitting", this rural course I'm sure has an abundance of wildlife that is native to the area and during my few trips through the area camouflage seems to be the most popular dress in these parts. The restaurant features a simple menu for lunch consisting of hamburgers, salads and sandwiches. Steak and seafood are available Friday and Saturday evenings and after sampling a few of their homemade offerings for lunch I am sure it's definitely a wait on the weekend for dinner. The service was equal to the food quality which I found to be refreshingly simply but full of favor using quality ingredients. You definitely need to try this place out, the food preparation yelps passion and is priced very reasonable. I hope to return soon.

From the moment it arrived at the table, I knew I was in for something special. The presentation alone was a winner--beautiful, fresh, and totally Instagram-worthy. The dish starts with two slices of lightly toasted sourdough bread (it must be sourdough)with perfectly crisp edges--fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Honestly, that bread alone sets the stage for a great dish. Then comes the star of the show: creamy, freshly smashed avocado spread generously across the toast. But it doesn't stop there! It's topped with goat cheese crumbles, a sprinkle of spices, crispy bacon, and delicate microgreens, creating a combination of flavors and textures that makes every bite pop. The bacon added a savory touch, although I'll definitely be asking for extra bacon next time...and oh yes, there WILL be a next time. I enjoyed this avocado toast so, so much. The only thing missing for me was a fried egg on top--but the friendly waitress told me while I was paying that I could have added one if I'd asked. Now that's a tip I'll remember for my next visit!
