The BEST place to get Dubai roaches and other 'bugs' for your Beardie!!!!!! I also bought most of my new enclosure needs to turn it into a bioactive environment for my big guy. All of the employees are so helpful and friendly. Totally worth the drive across town!!!!! They also have a ton of fish and fish products to build a new tank or keep your current tank clean and happy. Same with reptiles. The reptiles look healthy and happy and they have exotic fish. We had never heard of this place before, but when my daughter had set her sights on a bearded dragon as a pet, our friends recommended we go here. The facility is clean, the staff is knowledgeable, and you can tell the animals were well taken care of. We regularly go visit to pick up bugs to feed her bearded dragon and are always tempted to get another pet. Would highly recommend this place especially if you're looking for reptiles, fish, and supplies! read more

I never knew this place existed until I stumbled upon it one day browsing Yelp for aquarium stores . The business is in a weird spot and probably would do brewer if they were in a higher populated business area . Like other aquarium stores they do seem to leave you alone and let you browse without being bothered it's some what intimating for me going into these places considering many times I am the only one in the place . This store is not huge but designed fairly well , there are many rooms and it feels like you are walking through an office . Towards the back is where the fish room is and it's clean and well organized . If you want fish or plants you will more to hen likely have to hunt someone down to help you . It is a little cheaper then the other aquarium store in town which is nice , but may not have everything your looking for . read more

Five stars. Beautiful store, great prices and selection. Employees are knowledgeable and friendly. Their tanks are well kept and healthy. I appreciate that they're responsible with their business, they quarantine new stock before sale so you don't end up with a sick tank at home. Stalk their Facebook page to get first dibs on harder-to-find species-- they post the contents of their freshwater, saltwater and plant shipments when they come in. They also have a great selection of tanks, food, and other supplies. This place is our go-to for our tanks. read more

So i bought a set that was priced at $400 i dismantled it to get it into my car i got home and started looking at it and found that there was some missing plastic that had caused all four supporters that hold the four glass walls center to break off as i tried putting it together I contacted the store not even 30 min after it happened they said they could return it i said i couldnt that night i showed up the next day and they said that they couldnt do anything and gave me their managers info I contacted her on several different occasions with no response read more

I've been here a few times with my 13-year-old daughter. We've interacted with three different staff people, and all three were extremely courteous, and were interested in and excited about talking to my daughter, who is very knowledgable, about both fish and lizards. Tanks were dirty. Staff was not knowledgeable, seemed kinda clueless about what was going on. Everyone I tried to get help from had a super bad attitude, that on top of not knowing anything leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The store just looks cheap and trashy. DO NOT shop here. One of the worst local businesses I have come across. First, about 2 years ago, I took a day off work for an appointment I made to have one of their employees come out to my home and do some work on my tank. He never showed up! I got into contact with him and was told he "forgot to calendar it." I should have been done then. Next, this past summer, I dropped off a RO filter for some work. Never heard back. Called and emailed. No response. Then I started raising some noise, only to find out they could not find it! Long story short, they found it several days later. They could not fix it (I later did). The manager told me he was giving me an in-store $50 credit (this was last July). Today I went there to buy some supplies and was told (1) that mangater was gone, (2) they could not find any record of an in-store credit, and (3) they would not honor it. Nebraska Aquatic Supply has been my personal favorite aquatic store in Omaha for the past couple of years. I love the relaxing environment the store gives off and I appreciate just being able to hangout in the store and look at fish without feeling like I'm in the way or feeling rushed into purchasing something. Some of the other reviews complain about staff not being very helpful or hard to find but all the staff I've had experience with there are very polite and helpful. There are so many factors and different ways to go about fishkeeping so I do not expect new staff to know everything. Again, I actually appreciate not being pestered by staff so with my experience they'll great me when I walk in, ask if I need help with anything, and then generally leave me alone until I come to them or are ready to checkout and I prefer it that way. They have beautiful, healthy fish. A wide selection of saltwater species if that's what you're into. They have a small reptile section too, but not nothing too impressive on that end. You can find products here for aquatics and reptiles and a lot of them are better priced than what you can find on Amazon so it's always good to support the local fish stores! read more

I used to love this store. Unfortunately under new management all of the most knowledgeable staff has left. I'm also disappointed it's now incorporated a reptile section. I spent lots of time and money here until things started going down, down hill with dirty tanks, unhealthy fish, and young new staff, who really don't have a clue about aquatics. I really wanted to continue loving this place but honestly the best part about this store was the OG staff and now they are all gone. Very unfortunate. I absolutely recommend Andrew from Rivers and Reefs where they have great quality and quantity. read more

Thought I'd share here since they don't allow truthful 1 stars on their Facebook page...Here is the post they hid I never like to give 1 star reviews but I feel like I've given them plenty of chances. I've had nothing but rude service from Scott time and time again. This is going to be a long review... I typically bring in freshwater plants for trade. If you've bought Blyxa or AR Mini from this place, there is a good chance it came from me. This dates back to when Ron and Joe worked there. I always have communicated extremely well. I either call, stop in, or Facebook ahead of time asking if I can bring them in. I bundle, sort and print out a list of plants I'm bringing in to make it as easy as possible. Saturday 8/1/15 I messaged on Facebook to bring in plants. They said I could that same day. Told me to talk to Scott. I get there and Scott is annoyed that I'm there and no one told him I was coming in. He scolded me for bringing them in on a Saturday b/c they are busy. It was like he was talking to a little kid. Reminded me several times to never ever bring plants in on a Saturday. Made it sound like it was this crazy thing. FYI I have brought plants on weekends to 1 other fish store on a regular basis and they are very nice. I explained I work M-F and can't bring them during the week and wanted to bring them to him in the best condition, straight out of the tank. He explained his side that they might sit out for a while before they can create labels and get them in a tank. Told me to call a few days ahead of time and plan a time next time (which I technically did on FB). I thought well I caught him on a bad day. I'll try to get a hold of him directly next time. Every time I call I ask for Scott, they always ask who it is, brief hold and come back to say he is busy right now. Every time! Thursday 1/14/16 - Messaged again on FB, if Scott is available this evening I can bring in plants. They replied "Today should work just fine". Again Scott is annoyed and no clue I am coming in. Thursday 6/22/17 - I personally stopped by in the morning, talked to Scott and he said that today would work fine. Asked if any time worked best, he said just as long as it's before 6pm. I bring them in mid afternoon and of course like every time Scott is too busy to help. The other employee helped take them to the back to sort and comes back to tell me they are too busy to give me credit right now but call tomorrow to see how much they gave me. THERE WERE 3 EMPLOYEES AND ONLY 2 CUSTOMERS INCLUDING ME!. I said this is ridiculous b/c no one is here and I talked to him this morning, you vary on your prices so I'm not for sure going to give you all these plants. He said Scott was busy doing water changes so he couldn't help me. Scott happen to walk by and I said that I needed him to help me and he said he was busy but if I wanted to wait he could. So 15 mins later after he did his water changes he goes and looks at the plants. I walk in and tell him I really want to like this place and I don't want to make you mad but you really are making it tough to do business with. He said it's pretty typical to not give you credit until the next day. I said it never has happened here and never has at any other fish store. I've traded with all of them. Finally I get my credit, of course the other employee has to help me with anything else b/c of course Scott is too busy. Thank God there was still only one other customer in there. I expressed some of my issues with the other employee and he stayed pretty neutral but he was pretty understanding. I told him I always feel like I'm bothering Scott but obviously they do see a value in my trade as they sell my stuff very well and for a significant mark up. Same day I reached out to Shane the owner on Facebook messenger to call me. I wanted to give him feedback without a 1 star review on FB....Still waiting on that reply or call back. Saturday 7/8/17 - 20% off freshwater. I bought 30 rummy nose tetras. Asked if they quarantine the fish and the girl (who was very helpful and nice) said only if they see issues. I brought them home and dripped them into my quarantine tanks. Currently just had a few shrimp and has been up and running with some jungle val plants for over a year. Regular bi-weekly water changes. 7/20/17 All 30 are dead with ich. Tried to fight it with extra water changes for the past week but they all died. I reached out on FB to ask if they had any issues with the tetras and told them what happened. "Sorry, we have not had any issues with them, and still have a couple dozen from that batch on hand" Now I don't expect a refund but maybe some empathy or follow up questions to act like you care. I just spent around $105 with you and the fish had ich within days and that's the response. read more

We have visited several times and what a wonderful place! The staff has gone above and beyond, so helpful and informative! They have advice and ideas that have proven to be super helpful! The store itself is full of beautiful aquariums/terrariums that are clean and well stocked. The selection of fish is amazing, the living coral is breathtaking. These were my first experiences with nas. 1st visit - "could I get some help plz?" I later found out that it was Scott I was asking for help from- Scott replies "I'm on my day off, you will have to find someone else". I am pretty sure that's his job?! 2nd visit - stood there for 25-30 mins while a couple people were helping others and in the back. Of course Scott is floating around like he's too terribly busy to help anyone, as I ask this time "Could I get some help please?". He responds "I can't, I'm busy right now", then proceeds to disappear to the back. So I wait another 10 mins or so then I just left...again. 3rd visit- The ONLY reason I went back to this place was hoping they had a product in that FF's didn't carry at the time. Unfortunately, they were a bit busy, but I asked an employee a question that she said I needed to ask the manager, Scott. So this is the first time I realize he's the manager. I ask him if I can get some help please when he has a chance and proceeded to tell him I talked to another employee that said I should talk to him. He says "sure, just give me a few minutes to help this customer with some fish". I notice another guy standing by him as well and see that there is someone else in front of me. So I wait. He deals with the first customer, then proceeds to stand and talk for 15 mins or so ignoring anyone else that needs help. He then disappears and reappears 10 mins later. The guy in front of me is getting pissed, I'm starting to get pissed. He helps the guy in front of me. It took maybe 5 mins and the guy left. I was next....or so I thought. I watched another person get helped that arrived after me. Then a man walks in and got help. While that customer was being helped, another customer walked in, went straight to Scott and started chatting, while I was standing there next to him trying to calmly wait. That customer gets help and then Scott conveniently disappears into the back. After 10 more mins of waiting, making this an almost 1 hour 15 min ordeal, I finally made a comment to the kid at the desk to pass a message to Scott. Unfortunately, as nice as the kids are that work there, they seem to have very little to no knowledge. I would assume this falls back on the "supposed" manager that is who trains them?! Anyway, this guy is a complete and total asshat. The only person I could think of worse than him has to be the owner that lets him run his store. Or maybe the owner doesn't know how customers are treated? I have heard many stories like this before I went there the first time. However, I always like to get my own opinion as well in case maybe that person just doesn't like someone working there.
